Last year I did extended fasting for 12 weeks and lost 70 lbs. I would start my fast Sunday night after supper and have nothing at all (drinks, but no food) until Friday afternoon. I would eat over the weekend and then start over. It is very doable, but is definitely a mindset. You must keep busy so you don't think about food. If I felt a little hungry I would drink something.

Making sure you are in ketosis before starting an extended fast really helps. After the body switches to fat burning metabolism, the carb cravings are gone. Just be sure you aren't fasting the week before your period. You need carbs that week. Running on ketones feels great.

I’m an ICU nurse. The pandemic…was challenging in a lot of ways. I let myself go under the stress and insane schedule of working night shift. We’re heading into another new year and I’m ready and excited to focus on my health journey. I appreciate your energy and attitude. Most importantly, I love that you’re keeping it natural. I appreciate modern medicine for so many things, but we lose sight of giving the power to the people we are treating. Keep it up 🖤✌️

I’m almost 70 and started Keto 5 years ago. Fasting 3 days is easier then 1 day. 24 hour fasts with lots of water prepares my body for fasting for the next 56-72 hours.

I understand now. I've been in the hospital a lot. Transplant, pancreatitis etc. I never understood why they wouldn't let me eat. Digestion is a hard long job for the body to do. My body wanted to heal me first, food later😂 I was 80 pnds, still lived. Now 120 and eating healthy. Fasting makes you feel great. No sugar, you're right, feeds cancer cells. Thank you

I’m a foodie and love flavor, but after fasting I have learned that I control my food, not it controls me! If I feed my body what it needs, I no longer feel like I’m starving. Trying to do a one day fast each week, and a two or three day every other month. Feel and sleep so much better!

Thank you Doc, I naturally started my fasting exactly the same way. My first prolonged fast was 3 days, on accident, it just happened. I'm not trying to lose weight, I'm skinny. Prolong fasting promotes autophagy. I'm getting ready to start another master cleanse. If it is not on page 4, don't eat it. I found out about trigger foods the hard way. I'm at the lion Diet stage now. OMAD.

🙂There are many benefits to rotational fasting. Autophagy is our body’s natural recycling system which cleans out dead cells and body fat. This is what makes rotational fasting more efficient than intermittent-we are able to enter autophagy sooner. 62 years old . Slin build . Rough frame carpenter 40 plus years. Did less work in last few years . Gained extra mid section weight. Tried eating but nothing but high quality along with many crunches etc per day to not much avail. Did a 47 hour fast 2 days ago . Incredible results. Went from that to a 8/16 per day eating regiment . Last night for some reason my stomach was bloated . This morning as well but not as much. Any ideas ??

I'll take a shot at cutting that back (probably not ) lol. Man but this fasting deal is just incredible. Really . The feeling I had on the end of that trip was right right up there with about any high I've had and I've had a few lol Tell ya what , I'll be doin this for the rest of the ride 18/6 24/0 straight 72 here and there or more . I got pretty near 100 off the glucose Crack too lol Total garbage . Never realized how bad it was . Just did cause that's the way it was . Hey thanks again a boat load sir ! 👍👍😎 I'll be watchin . I want to say before I start the video...I started walking 10,000 to 12,000+steps every day. I split my steps half in am and half in Early evening. Then 4 days in, I started the 18/6 intermittent Fasting, eat at 12pm to 6pm. In 6 days I loss 2.5 lbs. Been trying to eat clean. Little to no sugar, Inc my greens, Protein is grass fed organic with 4-6 Oz of meat with green veg only. Occasionally a smoothie with spinach, berries, protein powder with organic grass fed milk(I know I should be drinking almond milk, but slowly making changes so don't hate). and 84 ounces of water with a no sugar, natural electrolyte powder(Ultima). Everything I mentioned is clean. Doing some other things you said Dr LG with supplements... Just wondering about how much protein on the 18/6 for a post menopause 61 yr old...TY

I've been doing between 14/10 and 18/6 fasts (as a new proponent), and I'm (for the first time) ~10 pounds UNDERWEIGHT. I FEEL great, but... I'm concerned about re-adding food, because I want to make sure it's DENSE (muscle) mass added back. I do SOME pushups, and mostly stretching. I ride a bike regularly, almost every day. It seems obvious that BELOW the waist, I'm toned; ABOVE the waist, I'm a bit scrawny; my arms are quite thin, with more vessels than I've ever seen. I'm generally on the right track, but looking for a good suggestion for further maintenance(!)
