That looks good but only cut out the bad part leave as much factory metal as you can because it's thicker and better than the aftermarket stuff.

Now that I've done this a few times I would add that when fitting your cab corner on for the first time measure the distance between the bottom of the "dent of your dent side" to the raised horizontal part (body line) on the bottom of the door. That way your cab corner lines up with the door, keeping the body lines correct, even when your door doesn't line up to begin with like Devan's was and mine was. Also, close the door every once in a while to check that gap. My cab corner job was a lot worse than this, I had to rebuild most of the underneath parts Devan showed here along with the lower door post.

It would be nice to tell what tools etc you utilised in your task. I got to do the same on my 79 F150. Cab corners and rockers.

I have to do the same thing to my 68. They are not real bad as only the bottom is rotten.

Do you put any metal on the inside of where you are going to patch to hold the panel to

I replace any of the rusty metal on the inside before I put the patch on

@@DevanEnce I figured you would remove the rusted panels completely I was just wondering if you use a strip of metal on the inside on the inside to hold the panel to or was the magnets the only thing holding the panel to the edge

How different are the f250 from the f150 cab? I have a highboy and i have to do this repair also the roof needs to be replace and the floor pan. 😆 sometimes i think it would be better if i change the whole cab but here in cali is hard to find good parts.

I have bought them from a number of different places but the shipping is cheap with National Parts Depot. Here is the link www.npdlink.com/1948-1979-ford-truck/body-exterior/body-parts-accessories/cab-parts-1973-1979-cab/cab-walls-roof

I like what your doing with this project Here’s a tip that might help you if you’re doing lines cutting them or using body fillers is kind of draw line with pencil and use 1”or 2” painters tape
@dwaincroghan6311

And double up the tape if you’re sanding that body line so you take off the top piece of tape and still have the bottom one

I was liking the vids that is until I noticed you only half fixed the inside. I was wondering why go into it that deep and only do a half ass job. Sorry but that's my opinion I know it don't count but don't do something if it not going to be the right way. Duck tape cheap !
