@@LivingLambsVeganKitchen I had them (plain) this morning. Absolutely delicious. You're right, they compliment each other so well that it really doesnt need anything else, but I'm still going to do the full version next week. I have oatmeal most mornings but usually have them in various sweet styles (apples, bananas, blackberries, cocoa powder, cinnamon, stevia, flavoured protein powders, flavoured and sweetened soy milk etc). But I can definitely see myself having these savoury oats on the regular. It might even become the dominant option. Thanks again. You've changed breakfast for me forever.

@@BezoomnyBratchny I am so glad you enjoyed it, BB! While you wait to go to the groc to get greens, you know what else is just sort of amazing? 1 part red lentils cooked in 4 parts water, then let it sit about 20 minutes to sort of thicken a bit. No seasonings of any kind - nothing. It's so good, I almost made a video on it, but I thought that would be just weird, so I didn't. And speaking of sweet meals, looking at your list there, have you tried a banana pudding? Mash a couple of bananas, stir in dry oats (for texture) & cocoa powder, and then whatever else: coconut, some nut butter, cinnamon, raisins, berries, whatever you like. I always put in ground flax seeds, because they absorb some of the moisture and makes it all more toothsome, which is what I like. It is very delicious and filling -- but calorie dense.... :) Thanks for reporting back and, again, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!!!!!!

@@suzannereeves7768 I basically cook a batch of oat groats once a week to keep in the fridge. I warm up about a cup of oats with about a 1/4 cup cooked lentils, cinnamon, golden raisins and a drizzle (about 1tsp) of maple syrup or date syrup. I like to change it up, just like oatmeal by adding different things I have on hand. Bananas, nuts etc.,

I love groats and just don't happen to have any right now. the only change is you might have to adjust the water some (i..e, add a bit more), but you can also do that at the end if it needs it. @LivingLambsVeganKitchen12 күн бұрын
Hi, Ann! Thank you so much for your kind words! You can definitely make this in a slower cooker or on the stove (although you might have to watch int on the stove since oats like to boil over). You might have to experiment a bit with the time, but I don't think you are at risk of overcooking anything. Please let me know if you have any other questions, and God bless you, too! ❤✝❤

This looks so healthy and so easy. I will make it but use my dehydrated green powder and I bet some quinoa would add another texture element to this. I imagine this freezes well so I can simply take it out in the evening for breakfast the next day. Thank you and God Bless.
@LivingLambsVeganKitchen3 жыл бұрын
Hi, again, JoJo! I agree! Adding other grains would only make it even better! I haven't frozen it, although there is nothing in it that would make it not freeze well. It keeps well, also, in glass on the bottom shelf in the back of your freezer, so you could make several days' worth that way, too. God bless you (and your sister who is so far away), my friend! :)

I dint have an InstaPot, can I just make this in a regular cooking pot? I’m wondering if soaking the oats and lentils overnight would be good.
@LivingLambsVeganKitchen3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Minnie! Thanks so much for watching and for your question! You sure can cook it on the stove -- and no soak needed. Just put it all together the same way, but simmer 26 minutes. Just be careful, oats love to boil over. So once the water comes to a boil put everything (except flax, vinegar, and mustard powder in there). Let it come to a boil with the lid off, then cut it down to almost as low as it can go. Give the stove about 30 seconds to cool down, then cover and cook. Even then, check it a couple of times the first 10 minutes ago so it doesn't boil all over your stove. That's my fave thing about the IP is that nothing can boil over and you don't have to check it!! Praise God through Christ Jesus for all these great gadgets!!!

@@LivingLambsVeganKitchen I did soak it last night, based on Nourishing Traditions recommendation to soak and a bit of acid, ie vinegar or lemon juice to start the fermentation process with the grains. Oats, red lentils, Pinch salt, dash lemon juice and a few sprinkles of Frontier Co-Op Organic Turmeric Twist Sweet Blend. Brought to a light boil, turned down low, cooked until lentils were done. I actually didn’t have any greens in hand, so just had that. It was very filling and yummy!

Could you advise me about a god non-stick fry pan?
@LivingLambsVeganKitchen3 жыл бұрын
I use the Scan Pans. They're ceramic titanium, so they don't have Teflon and such. They're kind of pricy, but the Classic is much cheaper than the Professional; yet they are the identical pan except for the handle on the Professional is metal and the handle on the Classic is plastic. They have a lifetime guarantee. I love mine! I've had it at least 10 years. You can use metal in them, but you can't cook in them over medium, and I usually go a tick below medium, to play it safe. That said, maybe they make better pans now, but I haven't had to look into it, because my ScanPan is going strong, and is guaranteed if there's ever an issue!!! Thanks for watching Mv Bc!! Thanks and praise to God through our Lord Jesus Christ for all of His good food he share with us!
