Even though my son is now 42 yrs. I still love watching you with Max. I did the same as you are doing now with Max. Unfortunately I wasn't able to nurse as long as you have but I did feed him plant based. Because of that he loved all foods. He was not a picky eater at all and still is not. He still eats like a horse. LOL. Thank you for sharing your world with us and encouraging the new moms to feed their babies healthy and getting a great start in life. My son rarely got sick growing up and has not had any cavities. I know it is because he had a good healthy foundation to build on. Keep up the good work.

I would make sure the peel on the cucumber is tender enough, but I'd still probably peel most of it and see how good they can chew. But I don't mean to be critical at all. I'm glad to see you introduce solid foods a bit later and are a nursing advocate. And I only weaned at the "magic age" of one with my first child (it was the early 80's, so nursing past one was looked down on a lot...). The longest I had a child nurse was 18 months with this method (self weaning). The shortest was 9 months with #6...he was just done. I was more broken up about that one :D. But think raising children to be adventurous eaters and to recognize hunger and their appetites is a great goal.

Here’s another tip If you’re ever eating something and he really acts like he wants a bite, but you don’t want to share, just say it’s spicy and he’ll run away hahaha! Jk Erin you’re doing a great job. Mines almost 3 now and honestly the rule that matters the most is letting them do things their own way. Sometimes it’s challenging but you can always make them think they are doing it all by themself, and teaching them how to ask nicely for help- as well as always being there to help, will be great to keep on your mind. These babies just grow up so fast. Babies love smoothies. 💚💚💚

Hey i have a question for Erin. I wanted to ask before having your beautiful baby boy, have you ever struggled with your periods? I am currently struggling with mine and my doctor told me i need to gain weight eventhough my weight is healthy just not enough for periods. Have you ever faced a similar problem in the past? All i want to be is fit and healthy like you guys look and feel :)
@EatMoveRest4 жыл бұрын
Hi Shannon! I did have quite a bit of irregularity in the past...I recommend eating enough calories, especially enough fat, as well as making sure you're not working out overly strenuously, getting good rest, de-stressing, and using clean personal care products--all of those things can help!

@EatMoveRest4 жыл бұрын
Most of the lectins get cooked off and oxalates aren’t really a concern. With both you’d have to eat A LOT to experience any sort of problem...foods like beans and greens are so important and staple nutritious foods on a wfpb lifestyle!

recipe for the amaranth porridge? :) And at how many months you introduced it?
@EatMoveRest4 жыл бұрын
1/4c amaranth flour, 1c plant milk (I like organic oat or soy), boil on medium low and stir frequently until thick. Turn off heat and mash in one ripe banana and a scoop of nut butter! That's it! :)

We started letting Max try small amounts of our green smoothie recipe (minus the protein powder) at around 9 months. He did great with it and we do include the barley grass powder! We’ve been giving him flax and chia ground up in smoothies and oatmeal for a long time! It’s pretty safe as long as it’s ground up!

I saw the video this fella went on about on how you were starving Max with so much false information. It made me sick. I'm a new vegan. My hubs & I decided to do 40 days just to see what may or may not happen. We're on day 26. I'm loving it, where he is having such a hard time. So I did a little more research. From what I've learned our blood types need different foods. He is meant to be a meat eater where I'm meant to be vegan. Having said that if you guys are an A blood type meat and dairy can do so much more harm then say a person with O blood. I've had stomach issues most of my life and never knew why. For me vegan is not just a diet, it's a life style and I'm loving it!
@EatMoveRest4 жыл бұрын
We've read and heard a lot of information that debunks the blood type diet, but to each his own! Glad to hear you're enjoying and thriving on a plant-based lifestyle!
@onemoretime38204 жыл бұрын
@@EatMoveRest would you mind pointing me in the direction for that debunking? If it's nonsense, I'd love for my husband to have a little more education and get out of his head he "needs" meat.

Please make sure babies have all 20 teeth before you introduce raw salads. It will prevent choking and aversions to foods in adulthood.
