Not true at all lol... my engine only has had plugs, coils, oil (filter housing, crank seal, oil pan) gaskets, hpfp, serpentine belt, and some other pulleys changed out over the years, way past 5-7. Also, it won't last forever 😆 To be fair this engine also has always been tuned with ethier jb4 or by a bmw dealer dynan. But with all that said, pulls like a champ. No issues yet of carbon build up at 92k miles. It is a great engine, its in the m2. You want less issues. Don't tune it... the engineers at BMW knew what they were doing when they designed the car with the original power output it was given from the factory. N54 another story.

As far as most luxury cars, they breakdown and sold to the secondary market (after the 7 year window). A BMW E92 3 series coupe cost around $6000 used, but hidden mechanical going to take a bite out of the wallet, you shouldn't spend more than 20% of your salary on car maintenance and repairs. Porsche, Audi, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, Maserati are money pits at the end if you don't take care of them (original luxury car owners going to only do basic maintenance on cars on their last leg). The most reliable car is Lexus because it's a Toyota with premium parts. The Acura is 2nd because it's a Honda. When someone is buying a 10 year old luxury and they can barely afford it, it's for looks and maintenance will be kept to the minimal. Porsche even though are grand tourers in these days are still sports cars with expensive maintenance. We don't know the reliability with the newer cars with all the touch screens, computer systems, etc.

I would consider a used X3 however with my BMW history I am not sure if I would be moving from the frying pan to the fire. Is a used X3 worth investing in for reliability? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Alberta

Sounds like you never learn anything from this bmw money pits . Run away from bmw to Lexus . Cheaper maintenance, less problems , more resale value.

@@ECPPI agree!! I got it from an older German lady who was a Doctor at 63k. Sat in her garage most of its life. It has 91k on it now but gently driven and always serviced at dealership and have the paperwork for it and clean title. I respect these gems. People always give thumbs up at stoplights! ALPINE WHITE!!😎🔥🇩🇪 thanks for your vids!

@@SirChad771 that's the way to go, buy a single owner car which was maintained at the dealership. BMW's are great car if they were properly maintained

Not sure if it was mentioned but the Lexus ES 250 comes with the naturally aspirated 2.5 4 cylinder engine that's in the Camry. Also, it's the only version available with AWD.

Great video. Keep the excellent work on. What do you think of a 530i E60 model 2004 with the M54 engine?

Yes those older straight 6 engines are solid and as long as cooling system is looked after those engines are pretty stout

They fail with nickel and dime issues like door handles, window trim, wheel hubs, infotainment, but the overall package will still run many miles.

I got a town car myself. Most people can't drive a small car today so no way could they handle a boat like that. Tad underpowerd but parts are cheap and easy to change.
