It's like HP didn't invest resources for the next version AMD model. It kinda makes sense the architecture of the PCB would have been way different since it's AMD. I've considered getting one before. I like AMD but would like to stay in the RYZEN realm and those are expensive or where the last I looked. Enjoyed it.

@@handmedowntech I'll probably try one when I get done SBC tinkering. I've been tinkering with Radxa SBC's and plain Pico Pi 's lately. Teeny computers are so much fun.

@@walkman1269 The Pico's went on sale for $2.99 when the 2.0s arrived... I have fun with those micro controllers as well. The tiny series from Seeed Studio are the ones I pick up.

Yes, HP AMD Minis go with an interesting numbering scheme. The 800 G6 equivalent is the 805 G6. Where did the 8 in 805 come from? :) I have a 705 G5 with the Ryzen 3400GE, and it gives the 800 G5 i5-9500T a run for the money. The AMD Vega 11 is a solid APU for emulation. The AMD is power hungry. Even though its rated at 35W, it has a copper heat sink, and comes with a vented top, and a secondary cooling fan on the SSD tray.

Got very cheap, under $30, a barebone 705 G4. Still confused, what the maximum processor that I can install to elitedesk 705 G4. Can you suggest it? 🙏

This is from the HP spec sheet - I believe the AMD PRO A6-9500E is the lowest AMD PRO A12-9800E APU with Radeon™ R7 Graphics (3.1 GHz up to 3.8 GHz, 2 MB cache, 4 cores); AMD PRO A10-9700E APU with Radeon™ R7 Graphics (3 GHz up to 3.5 GHz, 2 MB cache, 4 cores); AMD PRO A6-9500E APU with Radeon™ R5 Graphics (3.2 GHz up to 3.9 GHz, 1 MB cache, 2 cores)
