Fun fact, in regard to the thing Damien said about setting up a camera to watch the squirrels that are storing nuts in the mailbox: My dad actually made a "squirrel box" in one of our trees, and puts bowls of peanuts in there for them, and he set up a camera inside it so he can watch them hang out and eat the peanuts. As long as you're European, there's no need for a passport to cross the EU borders (and sit on the benches) because of this cool little thing called a shengen zone. As for the different benches in Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium - all you need is a passport, driver's license, personal ID card or school ID (as long as it has a photo and you are over 18 or traveling with an adult supervisor). I also believe company issued IDs also work, as long as they are a reachable company. You don't get stopped at the borders at all as an ordinary citizen, btw! In the Schengen area - Which is an agreement of free movement between almost all countries in the EU, except Bulgaria and Romania, and also including non EU countries such as Norway and Switzerland - as long as you are a member of one of the countries that are participating, and have any government issued photo ID, you are given a right to travel between the countries, and stay and even work in another country for a few months at a time. There are of course still border controls whenever you're driving with cargo you intend to sell in another country. One of the wonders of living in the EU. It may be flawed, but it has only provided a net good, towards the world.
