Yes, and also: A very spread out light from one side (45 degrees to the camera) that is just a bit brighter than the one one the other side and no light straight from the camera area. To make it look good also add a light from directly above the subject coming down on the hair. Don't have any light coming upwards unless you are making a horror film. This keeps the reflected light from the face of a picture from going to a camera but also provides enough shadow effect on the face so that we get the depth perception thing working.

Later on it [his cameos] became a superstition and eventually a gag," he remarked.' and: 'As part of an extensive series of interviews in Francois Truffaut's book Hitchcock, the director stated that he is conscious of placing his cameos within the first five minutes of the film to avoid extraneous audience distractions as the narrative thickens.'

Their big secret was simply that they sold the movie first - distribution deals, TV rights, and the like - typically with nothing more than a title. Once they had the cash in hand, they'd budget the film well under that amount. Only then would they worry about details like a script.

That last scene where you're confused about it being static is because it's a composite of a shot of brooks and a model of some sort. You can see that the shadows don't even line up, and his is darker, despite being further from the light source than the trees. It's for more of a travesty than at first glance.

"Stop dicking around guys, the ship is doing SOMETHING GREEN!" this movie would have been a lot better if it had dialogue like that in it

I’m so sorry for what happened to you, Emma, but you’re amazing for recording anyway. Hope it all gets sorted out soon!

Holy shit, what crazy good reveal at 38:00, I appreciate the doubling down on the bit. This is truly A+ comedy! Because you could've redone the bit and we never would've known, but I feel like the little goof is so much better

It's like they took the plot of Predator and said, "what if the marines from Aliens were here." I can't remember what the one female character's name in this movie was because I kept calling her Vasquez in my head.

Yeah, they may not allow people with PTSD to serve now, but back in 2004 they most certainly did lol. I got diagnosed after having a terrible dream and when my wife at the time tried to wake me up I pushed her onto the mattress while twisting her arm behind her, then almost punching her. In the dream I was touched on the shoulder so I was seeing my dream, but feeling whatever was going on around me? Like, half awake, half asleep? Anyway, they diagnosed me with PTSD, went and did my train up at JRTC in Ft. Polk Louisiana, then did my NTC training in the Mojave desert, and in January 2005 I was off to Iraq for the second time for a year instead of 3 to 6 months lol. It's wild though. While deployed I had 0 issues with my PTSD. I'm guessing because I was right back in the middle of the thing that caused it to begin with, so it felt normal, but of course 2 to 3 years later I ended up having trouble with it and my back, and I was let go from the military. I guess that was when they possibly changed it? I don't know, but interesting that it says they don't allow it when they most certainly did lol.

Many years ago, one of my fav reviewers (at least back then), Spoony, reviewed Robowar with Reb Brown. It was a horrible Bruno Matai clone of Predator. I would recommend watching his review or just ripping on it yourself 🙂

You NEED to see Cold Moon. They had the budget for Christopher Lloyd, but the VFX make this movie look high quality. One of the first signs is a scene where it’s supposed to be raining, and you can tell there’s just someone off screen with their thumb over a garden hose. And it goes downhill from there.

oh man! wow! that was so cool what you did with the alien picture! revealing the picture when they're revealed in the movie? pretty clever.
