For those who aren't big-time air and space nerds like me, I'll say this. Hot air balloons have absolutely no way guidance system. They just go wherever the wind takes them. It's not possible to set a flight path to a specific location like an airplane.

@lethfuil6 ай бұрын
That's not the case. You can absolutely guide where the balloon is going. It's obviously not as straightforward, or as easy and precise as an aircraft, but you do have quite a bit of control. You "simply" (not that simple, but you get it) use different air streams in different layers in the air. That's (one reason) why you can change the hight of the balloon. And that's also why there are races with balloons that start and end at specific points.

The thematic arc for most Christian films is that the main characters have to be right and know way too much. There's no room for growth or change ever. In a normal kid's show, the kids are nearly always portrayed as ignorant or willing to learn new things. In Christian adaptations, the kids just want their favorite things that they already enjoy repeated back at them. Even Ben Shapiro's media company has this issue. The main character learns nothing, was right all along, and repeating platitudes changes everyone around them instead. So it's less of a hero's journey and more of a guy who forces the world to conform to their beliefs with pick-up-artist logic.

The up and down steering is also the where to steering. Air isn't one thing, it has plenty of layers and they move in different directions (at different speeds, whirls, pressure etc, so not easy) and by manoeuvring up and down you move to the layer that goes the direction you want to. It depends on the time and weather etc too, of course. It's not easy and not perfectly precise, but a lot more steerable than many seem to think.

I loved this one, Emma! You had me laughing over and over during your recap of the "film." Thank you for having suffered so much so that we could laugh ourselves silly watching you rip it to shreds. I love when you do these kinds of videos. Thanks, Emma, for all you do!

35:19 -- Someone else who reviewed "Finding Jesus" -- Not as good as yours, Emma -- but they did make the observation that its end credits have similar issues with the character listings, with some characters' names missing, and some names in there who weren't in the film. What it looks like to me is that in both films there were characters that either got dropped or renamed somewhere between early drafts of the scripts and the completion of the films, but the credits were taken from the original drafts, so the character changes are not reflected. Oopsie! But I guess it's indicative of how truly sloppy and careless WowNow "Entertainment" actually is.

Emma, thank you for this. Why am I thanking you? Because you just made me feel like I'm a glorious professional compared to the buffoons that did the sound work for this film. I don't have a degree in sound engineering, or music, or audio technology, but they've been an interest of mine since I was a child, and now I work at a community college theater where I run the sound and lights (among many other things), where I often feel inadequate because I'm not a professional with a degree. (It's a part-time job that is officially a labor job and has few prerequisites.) But oh wow, I now see that I'm actually very skilled, which is to say that I have a basic grasp of audio principles, and I understand about 80% of how the equipment works and what it all does, and I know how to listen and balance loudness between sound sources. It requires attention and some effort, but I wouldn't call it difficult, yet apparently not everyone can do it. I don't want to know what compensation the sound folks for this film received, because it will probably make me sad and angry. Also, your flower crown is wonderful!

I found it funny that you looked more the part of someone going to Bible town than the characters did (mostly due to the flower crown, which is AWESOME by the way)

I think you're doing Bible Town a great disservice! It's obviously in the great tradition of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, where the overarching narrative is that pilgrims tell each other stories to pass the time as they travel towards the shrine at Canterbury. Except, of course, they are on foot and horseback rather than in a shit balloon and the tales in Canterbury tales are often satirical, earthy and always relate to the realities of human existence rather than being the mushroom-induced hallucinations of gullible goat herds..

The kids in Bible Town are the drifters from Fahrenheit 451.

I think that I need to make a Biblical story movie, except it will have things like Samson and the Phillistines, the Book of Maccabees, the Song of Solomon, the story of Elijah and the children, the death of Judas, parts of the Book of Revelation, and maybe some other things.

Don't forget Job! Devil: "pff... of course he believes in you. He has everything he wants." God: "ok. Do whatever you want with him, even killing his whole innocent family. Just don't kill him. You'll see that he will still believe in me". Devil" deal" God:"deal"

When Caleb and Sophia begins to sound like a better alternative.....scary thoughts.

Caleb and Sophia are horrifying because they're actually amazingly animated (except the very old episods). Indoctrination is easier that way!
