I'm a retired engineer from a military contractor and I performed EMP testing on our components to verify hardness. The simplist thing you can do is just remove batteries and have things unpowered they will survive a tremendous EMP pulse as long as there's no power applied. Secondarily the foil bags and cans like shown are good idea but the biggest thing is just have things unpowered and then you will have much higher survivability.

Would this work for a vehicle? Just disconnect the battery cables?

I would also love to know if it works for vehicles? Do we just unplug the battery? Please advice.
@dobson777a4 жыл бұрын
@@brucehansen7949 yes but modern vehicles already are pretty well protected. All the cabling is shielded for EMI purposes.

Metal tape around the can lid would zero out any leakage of RF into the cage.

We’ve since converted that entire system to a solark 12k emp hardened setup but previously the panels had no protection

Good to be prepared,great video.I have a simple idea.I will test all my panals after order arrives.Than I will put them back in there boxes, rapped up in tin fwo times.Same with the generator,and small fridge.I can put the things I need in that fridge,like other electronic components ,or what ever. it's the same kind of protection,and I save money for more preps.What do you think? Here we are in 2022,and the sun is popping off!

How are you PO event? This seems quite tough without a good size fariday cage. Guess you could wrap in a copper shielding screen and ground.
@cathy47352 жыл бұрын
Why can't you get the flex seal paint and paint the galvanized cans inside, which would be a rubber barrier that would seal the seams and any holes that might be on the handles etc. Which would also be a barrier.

Hey John, was this a live stream or recorded and then uploaded? Audio was very good, occasional video freeze but none on the audio side...quality good-to-acceptable, much better than the Trade music video I commented on yesterday. I know you are trying to improve your product and thought you might like some positive feedback? Doug

Thanks for all the feedback Doug, I'm listening! Between working full time running my own solar business and being a father of 3 little ones time is scarce...This video was shot in the field on my iphone. Trying to get better at youtube, just figured out thumbnails. Engineer775 is my good buddy and he has long encouraged me to do more youtube.... bear with me.. The trade music video was an attempt at going live from my home internet connection, I figured out that it is too slow, from now on the live videos are from my verizon data and the quality is acceptable based on the feedback I get
