I was ready to replace my husqvarna zero turn. Watched you video and followed instructions. Figured why not, my crankcase had over 2 quartsof gas in it. Cleaned carb, fifteen minutes later she runs. Smoking like Hell but that'll burn off.

Good process. Local parts store would not tell me the correct way to fix this MYSELF!

Could you pull the 2 studs off to take the carb off without having to remove all the extra parts.
@williedewer9623 жыл бұрын
Yes you can

I always remove the studs. Makes it so much easier and without getting debris in the cylinders.

My new 2007 e mark just did this yesterday and it’s doing exactly this! The valve cover pouring gas oil. Oil high and thin, pissing oil gas out the exhaust

Is it possible the fuel pump back flow preventer can fail and fuel can go down impulse/vaccume line an into crankcase and flood engine oil when mower is turned off?
@michaelenglish26092 жыл бұрын
Hey I just put an new carburetor on my ariens zero turn mower and gas was shooting out of the muffler because accident mistakes the fuel line to the intake instead of the carburetor . Do you think have my mechanic to take a look at it ?
@Theultrazombiekiller Жыл бұрын
My 17.5 briggs was doing the same thing, put a new $25 carb on it and works fine now.

My craftsman riding mower just did this same thing I swear to God right before the storm it’s been running good all the way til now it’s crazy!! Why would it just flood like that though out of nowhere and what could have caused it what it mean if I clean the carburetor and drain the oil and it floods again?
@KingBigCle322 жыл бұрын
I can’t believe your the only video on KZbin about this. I wish it was better lighting and you didn’t ummm so much lol

Like light to show where you drain the oil at this would have been a perfect video could have hit a million views in a day with some good light 💡

I found the drain plug by the pulley for the blade same side as the oil dipstick. Also like a lawn mower slightly different.

I got it cranked up I drained the oil and put new oil in it then I primed it with my hand it started right up no more leaks thanks man.

I'm gonna get a new carburetor for my Kohler command cv491s with that problem mine is cleaned out and the carburetor never did work right Sense i bought it a few years ago and seen last year the float in it gets stuck open then gets stuck closed if I park the mower aiming down hill The problem with my engine its letting to much gas flow in when that happens it all goes into the oil case just like that engine My new carburetor that's on it is only about 2 years old but never worked right when I got it so I'm gonna get another one sometime I'll probably have to buy 2 big things of oil just to flush out all the gas
@GeorgeLennon1004 жыл бұрын
looks as though someone may have overfilled it and tried to empty it out. Or like you stated the float bowl could've been stuck open causing the excess gas in the oil.
@BigAlWillis4 жыл бұрын
had a mower that had been sitting. it wouldn't turn over so while checking things out I removed the spark plug & gas just flowed out of there. it was the needle & seat. once the cylinder fills it leaks past the piston rings into the oil. I changed the needle & seat, changed the oil & it started right up.
@Mike-su8si2 жыл бұрын
It's the float in the carburetor the same problem as mine it gets stuck somehow its been doing it sense I've bought that carburetor 2 years ago
@Mike-su8si2 жыл бұрын
@@BigAlWillis then it's not the float
@jeffnations66494 ай бұрын
So what was the issue??
@ThomasRodriguezАй бұрын
The float sticks and so gas from the tank keeps filling the carb and works its way into the cylinder thus, fills the crank case.
@timothygrant28317 ай бұрын
What about oil in muffler and the oil reading low on oil stick?
@ThomasRodriguezАй бұрын
Oil reading low is because it’s so much gas that oil doesn’t stick to the dip stick, so it looks low.
@kbakeritsallaboutnobody.57614 жыл бұрын
That problem could also be avoided in the future with the installation of a fuel shutoff valve.
@Mike-su8si2 жыл бұрын
No not when the float gets stuck gas pours into the oil case when trying to start it up mine done it and have to waste more money on oil and another carburetor then hopefully that ones float will work the correct way
@Mike-su8si2 жыл бұрын
But the gas shut off valve does work good on my Kohler pro cv16s engine and I've put one on my cv491s engine anyways it'll do its job with the new carburetor
@kbakeritsallaboutnobody.57612 жыл бұрын
@@Mike-su8si question is Why did the float stick? Floats don't normally stick for the no reason. Usually the needle seat is gummed up and not functioning properly and causing a "stuck float" symptom but typically unless the float has a hole and no longer floats it will function properly. A fuel shut off valve will help avoid a gummed up needle seat by shutting off the fuel valve with the engine still running until it burns up all fuel in carburetor. Fuel sitting is how gumming occurs.

@@kbakeritsallaboutnobody.5761 in a brand new carburetor how did it stick mine was brand new 2 years ago and would get stuck open and closed right after getting it and put it on that's what it did if I park or stop on the side of a hill the float will get stuck and cut off the fuel But then I can park the mower aiming it down hill and it wont shut the fuel off Then park it either sideways or aiming up hill the float shuts the fuel off and I can't start the mower up til I push it so that its aiming down hill then it'll start up But now its like that new broke carburetor is stuck wide open because it floods the oil case with gas i do plan on buying another carburetor for it and hopefully it's not already broken like the one that's on it was and is
@Mike-su8si2 жыл бұрын
@@kbakeritsallaboutnobody.5761 I don't know why it keeps sticking for the only reason I can think of is to why its sticking is maybe its rubbing the float bowl i can't think of nothing else it's done that ever sense I bought the carburetor 2 years ago brand new it done it because I stopped the mower on the side of the hill then it died out and wouldn't start back up til i pushed the mower aiming it down hill then it started right up the carburetor wasn't dirty or gummy because it was brand new and I checked it out

I’m not the safety guy, but I had half that amount of aerosolized gas coming out my muffler and I was thinking, “this isn’t a good idea to make any sparks starting engine.” Be careful out there.

If that carburetor leaks just a little bit on that hot muffler that gas is going to ignite up in flames setting the mower ablaze.
