Piotrek Szumowski's father, Tadeusz Szumowski, was Poland's ambassador in various countries for years. That's why Piotrek was born in London. His father was the Polish ambassador to Australia, Ireland and Indonesia, so Piotrek lived in these different countries with his Polish parents throughout the years of his father's career. When Piotrek was starting to become a comedian, he had a conversation with his dad about whether Piotrek's career could harm his father's image. His father answered him: no, because I'am finishing, and you're starting. And he retired 😀

Staying on the topic of Piotrek or more precisely the name Piotrek :D today with my dad i watched a brilliant movie on Polish television produced in the USA and Australia, where the action takes place in London. A movie called Petter Rabbit. I havent seen something this good for a long time. And two years ago, a British series called Dr Martin was broadcast on Polish television, and i watched it with my dad every Sunday. We loved this series. Dad said he loved dr Martin's humor 😀

Someone in comments under one of his films wrote that Piotrek is doing "The Office" but live. I think this is good point 😂 P.S. The bird he is talking about is the Moa bird which was formerly endemic to New Zaeland, but was hunted to extinction by Maori people. Today Moa is used as a symbol of New Zaeland.

11:40 from my perspective this gag is about let's say people that are "looking for trouble". It's the stereotype about people which were in prison or Football ultras when they want to steam off, 3 questions like" "Got a cigarette? -No -What time is it? -I don't have a watch, sorry. -have 20pln to spare? -No sorry only credit card. -So you have a trouble" And then he proceed to beat you and take your belonging. It was common in 80' up to 2000' when people lived in a financial struggle, there was many groups with grey mentality to meet on a street now they rare to find unless you go in the night to places where you shouldn't have but i guess that's common around the world to not enter suspicious alleys after dark.

Polacy są wszędzie. Jeden nawet poleciał w kosmos😉 - Mirosław Hermaszewski (o legendarnym panie Twardowskim nie wspominając🤣). Bodaj 20 milionów Polaków mieszka poza Polską czyli 1/3. Najwięcej Polaków jest w USA (10 milionów). Ale dużo Polaków jest w Kanadzie, Niemczech (głównie dawne Niemcy Zachodnie), Kresy Wschodnie, Brazylia, Argentyna, Francja czy Wielka Brytania (chyba jesteśmy w Wielkiej Brytanii najliczniejszą grupą narodową - według Wikipedii, hasło: 'Polonia' - stronę edytowano ostatnio 20 listopada 2023 r.). Nawet na Islandii Polacy są największą grupą etniczną po grupach islandzkich. Wojny na pewno wpłynęły na wyjazdy Polaków - te czasy nazywane są u nas 'wielką emigracją' - to często były przymusowe, problematyczne albo załatwiane wyjazdy. Niektórzy Polacy odnajdywali się w nowej rzeczywistości, inni nie. Jednym z najsłynniejszych Polaków na emigracji tęskniącym za porzuconą ojczyzną był Chopen - stał się właściwie tego symbolem (do tego z epoki romantyzmu, która w Polsce jest drugim najważniejszym nurtem). Sporo Polaków wyjechało, gdy weszliśmy do Unii Europejskiej; kiedy otwarły się granice a w Polsce sytuacja na rynku pozostawała wiele do życzenia - zwłaszcza dla młodych osób, zwykle pracujących na tak zwanych 'umowach śmieciowych'. Wtedy sporo osób wybrało kierunek Wielka Brytania właśnie, bo język angielski był często jedynym, z którym mieli dotychczas kontakt i generalnie bywa najłatwiejszy do nauki. Większość Polaków ma kogoś z rodziny lub znajomych za granicą - to jest u nas dość powszechne zjawisko i nikogo specjalnie to nie dziwi😄.

A najwięcej Polaków jest w Polsce😅38 milionów. Spierałabym się, że Polacy są największa grupą etniczną. Najbardziej liczna diaspora w krajach OECD są Meksykanie, potem Włosi potem Niemcy, Brytyjczycy i dopiero Polacy. Poza tą organizacją jeśli po prostu popatrzysz na dane to Wlochów jest 140 milionów, z czego tylko 56 milionów Włochów żyje we Włoszech więc 84 miliony Włochów żyje na całym świecie poza Italią, więc nasze 20 milionów wypada słabo na tle włoch. I to jest stereotyp i propaganda, że największa migracja jest z Polski. Włochów jest w Brazylii 25 mln, w Argentynie 20 mln w Stanach blisko 18 mln, we Francji 1,5 mln, Australii 852 418, w Niemczech 611 000, w Belgii 290 000, w Wielkiej Brytanii 133 500 itd i nikt nie ma z tym problemu.

Nie przypuszczałam, że ktoś odczyta, że Polacy są najliczniejszymi grupami narodowymi we wszystkich krajach, o których wspomniałam, pisząc tj. Kanada, Francja, Brazylia czy Argentyna - w tych rejonach zaznaczyłam, że Polaków jest po prostu dużo. Było to dla mnie oczywiste w chwili pisania, więc po prostu nie pomyślałam, że to można tak inaczej zrozumieć - czasami piszę chyba zbyt szybko. Jakoś wyraźniej zaznaczę to w tym moim wcześniejszym komentarzu - edytuje i uściśle, że chodzi jedynie o samą W. Brytanię. Myślę, że jeszcze warto też wspomnieć, że wielka emigracja Polaków, o której wspominałam, była ważna nie tylko ze względu na samą liczebność, ale też ze względu na wybitną rolę, jaką odegrała w życiu politycznym i umysłowym narodu polskiego. Emigracja stała się żywym ośrodkiem polskiej kultury, nauki i sztuki. Sam polski rząd stacjonował na emigracji przecież w pewnym okresie. Były więc takie fale emigracji Polaków, które miały dość istotne znaczenie - kształtowały polską myśl (to było trochę coś więcej niż tylko sam wyjazd).

Według danych z 2017 w UK żyło nieco ponad milion Polaków a po wyjściu Wielkiej Brytanii z Unii liczba Polaków w UK spadła do 200 tysięcy. Więc kim są pozostałe niemal 6 milionów? Najliczniejszą grupą etniczną w Wielkiej Brytanii są Hindusi. Jest też masa Azjatów i masa Arabów i Afrykańczyków. W sumie oprócz Polaków jest ich prawie 6 milionów. Więc bzdury piszesz nie wiem na jakiej podstawie.

Tym bardziej, że nie była to praca naukowa, tylko pisałam komentarz w internecie. Sama kojarzyłam dotąd, że stanowimy drugą co do wielkości grupę emigrantów na Wyspach. Byłoby to tym bardziej prawdopodobne, że sporo Polaków powyjeżdżało w ostatnim czasie po wyjściu UK z UE, jak sama wspomniałaś. Nie wiem z którego roku są najbardziej aktualne statystyki odnośnie demografii w Wielkiej Brytanii, którymi możnaby się posłużyć. Jak wpisuje się w internet zapytania to wyskakuje, że w 2023 roku w UK mieszkało ponad milion Polaków a Hindusi są najliczniejszą grupą w samym Londynie - różne rzeczy można znaleźć. Nie zdziwiłoby mnie jednak, gdyby Polacy nie wiedli już na dzień dzisiejszy prymu liczebnego w Wielkiej Brytanii i spadlibyśmy na drugie miejsce podium. Jeszcze uściśle przy okazji, że pisząc w moim pierwszym komentarzu, że Polaków jest dużo w niektórych rejonach świata miałam na myśli najpopularniejsze kierunki wyjazdów emigracyjnych Polaków, nie natomiast to, że dominujemy tam liczbowo nad innymi grupami narodowymi czy też że aż tak bardzo jesteśmy tam widoczni; wyeksponowani na tle pozostałych.

Perma baning cigarets is weird. Bc what you hear is "your CHILDREN would never smoke". But what is really said is "those ADULTS will be ban from something that is sometimes bad for health". And it is slippery slope. Take for example australia. Where every second game is banned from sales bc its violent or have drugs(even mentioning them is bad). I get baning drugs bc people on drugs are danger to other people. But cigaretes? Its universal stress relieving thing. What people do to release some steam after hard day? They go with... american way? Or japanize way?

Yup, strippers in Poland are usually from Ukraine or other former USSR country. And strip clubs in Poland are sad places, its not like in US movies where they dance and get money from croud, here most of those girls earn only from private lap dances and drinks - they ask you to buy them a drink, you buy them a rum and coke for 50PLN and she gets a 5PLN glass of coke, club takes like 35 PLN and she gets remaining 10. So what they usually do is sitting and chatting with customers and try to convince them to buy a lapdance or drink. I went ther twice for bechelor party years ago and I do not plan to go ever again, at least not in Poland. I heard that it is different in Czechia and that strippers there are only dancers and can get a good salary just from that.

This guy is not really from Poland ,he has polish parents but he was brougt up in Britain. So he has no big clue how Poland really is right now. The stereotypes that he is repeating about the land of his ancestors are out of date, not existing anymore in majority, therefore hes jokes are perpetuating old western theme of jokes about Poland and polish people. I saw him in few other gigs and i must say he is pretty averrage.Hes only advantage is that he speaks english without polish accent so he may be interesting for some commonwealth people who like to feel better about themselves.

Brothels are illegal in Poland, but so-called Sociable Agencies (Escort Agencies) are legal. This is hypocrisy. You pay for champagne or other alcohol officially, but practically you pay for sex. This business is dominated by girls from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus. Polish girls often provided sexual services in Germany and the Netherlands in the 1990s and at the beginning of the century.
