As for pronunciation, listen and repeat. Mark the thought groups with slashes (/) and mark the stressed words. Follow my rhythm. As for vocabulary, not all the words are high frequency words. Some are good to know, but you don't have to put them into your daily conversation. "Redress" and "strife" are very formal. Other words are more common. Note them: frosty, noble - - for example. Visit YouGlish to hear and read other uses of these words. Then try writing or saying a sentence of your own. Happy New Year!

Hi Maxwell. You know I love that poem by Robert Frost, right? Yes, I can see some connections. Frost was telling us that even the best of things can be temporary, so we must appreciate them while we can. Here Tennyson is telling us to let go of all the negative as best possible, and we can turn our minds and hearts toward the New Year. Ringing a bell is an action we can do. Welcoming a new year doesn't have to be passive. It's up to us to ring out the old and ring in the new. Happy New Year!

Hi. Good question. "All" is used for emphasis. "We agree." For emphasis or to clarify you can say: We all agree. Everyone here agrees. Similarly, "they all have cell phones." >> Each of them has a cell phone.

Trips can be short. A journey is generally long. We can use "journey" in an abstract sense as well. Life is a journey. "Toward" is a preposition, and it implies movement that takes you close to something. (I moved slowly toward the exit.) I have a playlist on prepositions.
