In your first reaction to Awakening, I forgot to mention that Brittney sings that from the Immortal's POV. Grant, the guitarist who was growling in that song, was singing/speaking from The Matriarch's POV. Cleanse The Bloodlines is chapter 4 in the storyline. This whole song is sung from The Matriarch's POV (clean and growls included). In this song, The Matriarch gives her commands to The Immortal. The video itself is actually showing the events/aftermath of chapter 7(Ten Thousand Against One). The Immortal meets up with The Matriarch in the opening scenes and hands her a knife. The Immortal has just returned from bringing back the son who is the leader of The Matriarch's armies. The hand over of the knife symbolizes that The Immortal has done what was asked of him, to return her sons alive, and by giving her the knife, he's basically saying "now it's your turn". At first, her son is in disbelief that his mother summoned him to kill him, but he then sees the darkness in her eyes. He grabs his swords handle, but hesitates and get distracted by the Falcon taking flight. This gives The Matriarch the perfect opportunity to strike. Lyrics: Here you are, you've finally come You're mine, at last! ok... sorry the post-commentary is late... I missed your closing (we have a cougar in the area and I had to herd the sheep into the barn,, AGAIN.) I think in this one they tried to break the some of the old power-metal-hackneyed phrasing : Rather than a NWOBM Gallup, to me this felt more like a roll down white water rapids.... I think the verses are in 6/8 (someone correct me) .... not sure about how to count there chorus (geez folks, I'm a dentist and an engineer... I don't have one time-keeping tendency in my whole existence... when I played music it was early ZZTop, Sabbath and BTO... and trad Irish, but that's crazy from the get-go. I didn't graduate to Mahavishnu until the late 70's. ) Anyway, I LOVE how the most expressive character was the Matriarch (falconer) ... Ma'am, you know how to scrunch a face !! AND, I want to know of Brittney used arm-extensions during those silhouetted bonfire upward arm-reaches. - That's some serious length in the radius and ulna. The guitar work was immaculate, but safe. This might be a tune where the strings players can sit back in a Metal Pocket and take a break... give Brit the spotlight... plus it has a GREAT Audience-Participation post-chorus (or what ever they call it.... it's not really a bridge, that came earlier. Hey, the neighbor's hounds are going berserk. I gotta go out and spotlight down the hill for giant kittycats. You two have fun.

@@enterthecronic Trying to intercept the cougar has been a daily thing for 2 years. I've grown kind of accustomed to it. By this time, i figure its more dangerous to drive to work or sample my hot sauce while it ferments...habaneros take no prisoners and I use way too many of them.
