Indeed. I'm not in Australia so I don't know some things that are country specific, but I can think of several things off the top of my head. a) How does it get over kerbs? Do you need to step off the board every time? b) Do you have to use a cycle track? Surely there's a safety thing on 35 km/h vehicle on regular sidewalks c) How does it deal with gradient? Isn't travelling uphill somewhat of a nuisance on this?

@@chriss790 If it was more like a normal skateboard I'd just sorta ollie/ bump ollie roll up the kerb or gutter as we call em in Aus.....Not sure this thing would handle that kind of abuse though but we're pretty good for bike paths here so there prob wouldn't be too many gutters ya had to get off for......And as far as I know I don't think there's any regulations in Aus when it comes to things like electric skateboards...Only if it's got a petrol motor over 50cc....And some electric boards do alright up hill....Others not so much......Just depends on how powerful it is I suppose...Doubt I'd never buy one as I'd want one more like a standard skateboard..... But I'd be curious to try one :-)

According to Riley, the folding board can reach speeds of 21.5 mph (35 km/h). The board’s underside playing host to a 36 V, 7 Ah LiFePO4 battery that provides power to a 500 watt brushless motor that drives the 78a wheels, mounted on longboard trucks. Riley claims a recharge time of three to five hours for the battery, which should provide a range of around 18.5 miles (30 km) depending on terrain. The board also features regenerative braking to feed some power back to the battery when slowing down or going down steep hills (Can travel up hills to a 12% gradient)

Perhaps it’s just me but I wasn’t wowed by the product at all. I personally think the whole dynamics of the board and separate gun is in fact a step back in design. There are products that don’t need to be folded and are around that size that don’t require a whole separate remote to operate. It’s clumsy... I’d be happier with a standard electric scooter, more secure in terms of balance and less risk of falling.

First electric skateboard? Boosted boards have been around for awhile, as well as other similar companies. Not to mention one wheel! All of those are much more portable too!

I really like these Sharks. They legitimately want to make good deals. But at the same time they aren’t trying to screw the entrepreneurs even if it means they don’t get as much as they can.
