Finally! I began the Swap Process of my prepped 2ZZ-GE engine into my Toyota Mr2 Spyder (Swiss Spec, zzw30 or Japan Toyota MR-S).
It was smooth sailing until...of course something was about to happen!
(a bit of damage and me losing my cool...).
By Watching this video, you will have a full step by step Process on how to do an engine swap of a 2ZZ engine into a Toyota Mr2 Spyder.
This is part one with lots of details and over 30minutes of footage!
I also finally got my hands on some new Camera Gear. A Canon M50, Lenses and a Good Microphone!

Step by Step Process:
2:03 Replace Spark Plugs with new ones
2:10 Reinstall 2ZZ Coil Packs
2:42 Reinstall 2ZZ Injectors (or Bigger ones)
3:11 Install 2ZZ Swap Oil Dip Stick
4:45 Install Block off Caps (3X), in my case only 1 was needed
7:15 Install Stock 2ZZ Engine mount (only half of it)
9:45 Install 2ZZ Swap Engine Mount Bracket to the stock 2ZZ Half bracket
12:06 Install 2ZZ Alternator (resists better to high RPM)
14:17 Install 1ZZ Idler Pulley for Accessory Belt
15:03 Install 1ZZ Air Conditioning Pump (100% Plug and play)
17:49 Re use and install 1ZZ Baffled Oil pan, probably best modification you can do to your engine to make it more reliable than it already is (100% Plug and play)
20:51 Install Full 1ZZ Mr2 Spyder, mr-s (zzw30) Engine loom
21:03 Install Lift Harness in conjunction with your Mr2 zzw30 Engine loom
22:37 Install O2 Sensors
22:53 Don’t Forget Grounding Cables (negative, minus connections to the chassis) Super important!
23:01 Install Intake, AFM (Air Flow meter) and its adaptor. I used the 2ZZ one

Hi! Thanks for your comment! Its the Liquimolly silicone gasket paste (its a german product). It works really well, after months of usage, not drop of fluids leaking! 👍🏼

@@JesseSpec Thanks Jesse. My engine is on the way from Canada to North Carolina. I hope it is in good condition when it arrives. Also never seen anyone show both engines and transmissions side by side while being worked on. This is a huge help for those of us about to tackle a 2zz swap. One other question... I love the paint job on the valve cover. What kind of paint did you use and how is it holding up? Thanks!!

@@dukebbfan08 hi! I actually have some family in North Carolina hahahah. The paint I used is a generic metallic blue rattle can paint from the hobby center. I sadly don’t know the color code, but if the pre paint prep work is good, it should last a long time. I’m happy my videos help. Thats why I make them. Yup! Its the standard 2zz-ge plenum from the toyota Corolla T sport (euro spec, Swiss edition)

Hey man, followed your install before. I am now in fact doing it myself because of your videos, but do you have information or resources on routing hoses? There's a few extra coolant nipples on the throttle body that idfk where they go.

Hello, Yes it is. I say "I had the remove the water pump pulley". Because Otherwise I couldn't fit the screws holding the engine mount. I don't know if this answers your question?

@@JesseSpec Nice bit of editing,as you clearly called it the "oil pump" when I watched the video and made my comment! The edit can be seen now with the slight jump in the frames at 8.56!!!! Don't try to pull a fast one,just admit you made a mistake.

Hi, I thinking to install 2ZZ to my MR2, engine from corola, but I need Corolla with 1ZZ also, like a car go to the work. Is imposible instal 1ZZ exhaust on 2ZZ? Next question is Oil dip stick can I use from 1ZZ? Absoliutly I need to change engines on my cars, I know it is more work, but waht I need extra to do this, know cheepest way? Then You show details is all from Monkey wrench, You can show part numbers it will be more informative video, video is wery good and more information, thanks.

🤦🏼‍♂️ LoL! There'd be way worse mistakes and damages if I attempted a job like this. How much would a swap cost me? I thought this video was excellent 👌 you'd make a good instructor. I could watch this video for 6 hours straight.
