These engines in combination with KERS and the DRS system , combined with today's aerodynamics, would be absolutely insane . And nearly 20 years of development , they would rev to the absolute stratosphere.

2022 cars like 2014 are extremely early in their dev cycle and thus fairly slow. A better comparison would be with the 2020 cars which were at the peak of their dev cycle, just like F2004 was.

People forget that current power units need to last 7-8 race distances. If you tune them to only last for 1 race like the V10's back in the day, they will be much much faster.

The V10's are faster, hands down. More power, less drag, less weight, better braking, shorter narrow wheelbase (better for low speed turns). Everything you've been told about the new cars is a lie. They purposely slowed them down. F1 lost massive viewership after the transition as well.

Keeping cars’ performance under an « acceptable » level seems ridiculous to me… Grpe B and Grpe C times were much better and I never understood why FIA wants always to keep F1 as slow as possible… If actual pilots are scared to drive 1500bhp/600kg then they can give their seats to the ones who don’t 😍

The crazy thing about Ralphs lap is that the setup would be nowhere near as dialled in as it would be in a proper quali session. months of simulation work goes into each track these days so imagine the laptime with 100+ people working to shave off as musch time as possible

if the FIA wants to make F1 more green then plan the season better to make races closer together throughout the colander. Put the V10's v12's back in , the cars are a very small part of F1's carbon footprint and infinitesimally small for the whole world

Putting that slick tired V10 monster up against the 2020 cars, which are the fastest in history on one lap, would be interesting. Just… 1v1, F2004 on slicks vs 2020 RSS Formula Hybrid.
