Former Detroit Pistons point guard Isiah Thomas joins Detroit native Jalen Rose and Mike Greenberg to respond to Episodes 3 and 4 of "The Last Dance," in which Thomas' "Bad Boys" team infamously walked off the court without shaking hands with Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls in the 1991 NBA playoffs.

he beat an old Larry, a older Magic that was far from prime and close to coming up HiV. Now he did get Jordan before he got help that he would depend on. Lets stop acting like the Pistons won in each of those players Prime. The Pistons were a great time no doubt. When Jordan beat the Pistons it was the same thing. The Bulls were a better team and the Pistons were also older.

I think the way Detroit played just burned that fire under Michael that much more. I think they helped "create" him, in a sense. Not quite Dr. Frankenstein. But they showed him what he needed to overcome, even if it's a Laimbeer arm to the throat. The Jordan Rules imo also pointed out his weaknesses, which he hopefully overcame to slice through other teams like butter. And once you get past this rugby team, all others are a cakewalk.

@SpikeShooter92
@SpikeShooter92 4 жыл бұрын
You know why they didn't shake their hands? Because the Pistons didn't deserve their respect. Just a year earlier, a player tried to end Larry's career by pushing him down to the floor which led to a brawl. Their reputation wasn't deserving of anything at that time. When the Pistons walked out, it's because they were sore losers and upset that they were finally defeated. That's the difference
@malikmuhammad102
@malikmuhammad102 4 жыл бұрын
@@SpikeShooter92 And!?!? They still walked out the same way Isiah Thomas walked out. They played within the rules of the game back then. If your gonna condone Larry Bird being classless then Isiah Thomas should never gotten any backlash. You can't have a white player do something and nothing happen. Then when a black player does the exact same thing you call him classless. Its hypocrisy and hints at a larger race issue.

Jordan didn't have a problem with their physical play. He (and many, many others) had a problem with certain players who did things that could end someone's career. Nonetheless, he STILL had enough respect to shake their hands after every single loss (three straight in the playoffs). Again, he NEVER had a problem with them being physical. He was physical, everyone back then was psychical. It was certain players (such as Lambier) that tried to end people careers.

*Favorite* *Quote* *From* *Episode* *1* *Roy* *Williams:* Michael Jordan is the only player who can ever turn it on and off. And he never freakin' turned it off. *Episode* *2* *MJ:* At the time the coach was Stan Albeck. So I said, Stan, f these guys, man. Give me the most important 7 minutes that you can think about. Honorable mention: I mean, Carlisle, just wants his mommy. *Episode* *3* *Mike* *Wilbon:* Somebody had written or said that the Bulls were going to go home. Send them home. So when he hits the shot, go home mfers, go home.

Micheal Jordan hella petty. None of his teammates truly liked him. Isaiah don’t sweat it. You played with heart. you earned two rings and are one of the greatest point guards ever.

Look how Isiah did that sneak duck past mj & the team. Mjs face is kinda priceless. The nba hated the pistons cause the celtics did the same thing but nobody cared. Also they should have 3 peated but the ref called a phantom call that straight robbed them of a 3 peat. Zeke & the bad boys were hated for beating the holy trinity annointed by the nba bird magic & jordan

Michael Jordan and Co got sent home by this man 3 years in a row. Some of the Bulls said some stuff about the Piston’s players that maybe went too far. The handshake was a reaction to that.

The Last Dance is so good, we tend to forget the blonde lady in Episode 9 cursing like crazy attending a Pacers playoff home game against the Bulls. 🤣 Horace is just mad at MJ. Not really towards the doc.

Scottie Pippen will get over how he got portrayed from The Last Dance. He's Robin. No microscope. No high expectations. He actually does redeem himself towards the end. Clutch shots in Ep 9. Played through pain in Ep 10.

Isiah is the third greatest point guard in the history of the league behind Magic and Steph. And he definitely deserved to be in the Dream Team.
@sonnyhuynh007
@sonnyhuynh007 4 жыл бұрын
Behind Steph? That is debatable. I watch Isiah in his prime and I have to say Zeke is more well rounded than Curry. Zeke is quicker, better handle, more clutch, basketball IQ, play tough on both end, was the kingpin on his team.
@bikinifittv
@bikinifittv 4 жыл бұрын
Even MJ says he is right behind Magic... Curry is great, but has he even been the best player on his team???... Even if he was, he had a dominate Durant... It's debatable. Curry's great, but MJ, Magic, Barkley they all pick Zeke.

It was their identity. I enjoyed it back in the day .In sports you come up with a strategy to win , back then to beat Jordan they had to ruff him up and that’s what they did. Period
