Although I stand by the movies’ decision on cutting RAB and kreacher. As it helps greatly with the Hallows part 1’s pacing and the flashback didn’t make much sense to me and felt out of place when considering Harry and Dumbledore’s experience in the half-blood prince. 1. Kreacher broke way too easily(for a house elf working under the black’s for quite a long time he must’ve been a master at using words and keeping off the truth as the Black’s didn’t have a very clean history. 2. Kreacher could’ve simply apparated out of the cave with RAB(according to the half-blood prince, the inferior attack begins approximately after a minute from emptying the bowl and retrieving the locket. Time more than enough for them to both apparate. Other than that I agree with your point the scene in the book was really emotional and heart warming.

The book had tons of good Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny moments. •Ron asking Hermione out to dance at Bill & Fleur's wedding in front of Krum. It's great character development from Ron's side as he learnt to control his jealousy from three years earlier. •Hermione comforting an upset Ron at Grimmauld Place when the patronus warns them about the other Weasleys on the run. •Ron worrying over a minor thing as the fate of the Cattermoles that even Harry notices that Ron's innocent gesture almost makes Hermione initiate their first kiss. •Harry making sure Ginny is safe at Hogwarts with that Marauders Map.

Plus, Hermione’s too bossy and nagging of him and sometimes is scared of his temper. Hermione also was keen on hooking Harry and Ginny up together as she gave the latter dating advice regarding Harry. Harry hates bickering which Hermione desires in a partner. And the only person who consistently does that to her is Ron. And Harry telling Ron that his feelings for Hermione have always been platonically like that of surrogate brother kills any chance of HHr. It’s frustrating how the filmmakers ignored all this.

13:04 this always bugged me about the picture frames - even if Hermione’s parents’ memories had been wiped or changed, the events within the photos would STILL have happened so Hermione shouldn’t have disappeared from them (unless Hermione removed her image from the photos using magic too) but unless that’s confirmed, it’s still an error!

28:42 Agreed. In the book there were loads of examples of Ron comforting Hermione and standing with her either in the Burrow or Grimmauld Place even against Harry's occasional snaps. and later on when they were locked in the manor, Ron went ape shit crazy as Hermione was tortured upstairs and Harry was urging him to be quiet. Non of that happened in the film. To the film's credit, they tried to hint such examples, but you can't portray Ron and Hermione close together and Harry isolated as they were talking behind him and stop when he is around, and Harry even confronted them before Ron's departure - was mentioned in the screenplay, but not in the film - and portray Ron being jealous that Harry and Hermione being close as they are. You can't do these two things together as bland as it was in the film. It's been said numerous times that the films did Ron bad and this series is a good testimony to that. Also Ron after Hermione treated his wound in the tent, his first thought was his concern about The Cattermoles and the muggle borns that they helped escape and he rejoiced when he found that they obtained the locket, and he - along with the others - had a good mood occasionally when there was good food around and not a constant grump like the films did.

Changing the death of Wormtail in the movie was a huge mistake. In the third book we see Harry saying to Dumbledore that it's his fault that Voldemort will come back because he didn't let Sirius and Lupin kill Wormtail. Then Dumbledore tells him that it will come a day when he will be glad that he saved Wormtails life, because when a wizard saves another wizard a bond between them is formed and Wormtail will be in Harry's debt. So Wormtail failed to kill him and the hand that his master gave him chockes him as a punishment to his betrayal.

38:30-38:56 I one hundred percent agree. The movies should have taken that route. "In the book there was nothing to see." THANK YOU! The movie making it seem like Harry and Hermoine could be a couple always bothered me. I am curious if the movie's change on that is why the author said her comments about Harmony having a chance if she were to rewrite it. Perhaps she is wrong about the movie influencing her. If that is the case I am glad she finished writing before the movies showed their take on Ron's Harmony jealousy. Book-wise there would have to be a lot re-written to even make Harry and Harmoine actually like each other that way as neither character ever thinks about the other in such a way. The Harry and Hermoine dance moment is the worst moment in the whole of the HP universe canon or non-canon. The real problem with it is nothing leads up to it other than what the people involved with the movies wanted and Ron's jealousy and the crew wanting/needing drama between the trio. All of this doesn't just ignore book relationships, but also ignores setup movie relationships. Harry has been dating Ginny and doesn't break up to protect her, as in the book.

Yeah, I wasnt a fan of the fifth one but I respected it as the book was incredibly long and had so many small and connected details that they would never be able to do everything so they focused on the important stuff.

10:40 and in other news rates of alcohol posioning and heart failure has increased dramatically. while the cause of this is unknown as few of the victims were considered alcoholic by their family and friends. the only thing that stays consistent between the fatalities is that they were all using a kind of electronic such as a phone or computer... Now with extremely relevant and important sports

I think the explanation for how the death eaters knew which Harry was real made a lot more sense in the movie. Since pretty much any of the fake Harry’s would be able to cast the disarming spell but Hedwig would instinctively only protect the real Harry

Ron actually did suggest killing the Death Eaters but his tone was supposed to be more nervous and he was supposed to be relieved when Harry tells him no.
