Not that many anymore, but there are a few of us who dont mind the road. We know we bring it closer for the local guys, but we just dont want to be confined. Let's work and stand together so that we all are good.

Yep, sure is. That's why back in the day, you couldn't even think about going local without at least 1 yrs experience

Local Foodservice. 40-50 hours a week. Monday to Friday. Pretty easy for me at least. It’s something out there for all of us.

Local driving is far from happy driving. It’s home daily yea, but you’ll probably still work 12-14 hours at most local gigs. And make 1200 on average maybe a little more maybe a little less. I’ve had 4 local jobs and they each had perks and each had high levels of stress and cons. I hate being gone doing regional, but sometimes the days are slower and easier vs the multiple stops or live unloads/driver unloads that local gigs bring. If it’s a 4 days week local gig it’s better, but some are 5-6 and there’s not much time left to live. Idk if there’s a perfect company for any gig really. Just who you can survive or tolerate til you can’t. My current local gig is 240 a day and I often work 14-16 hours a day and do multiple loads which often have multiple problems. It’s def burning me out

I finally got what I was looking for. Pulling for Walmart dairy plant,hauling milk only for Walmart stores. Pulling preloaded Walmart trailers with multiple stops $20 per stop. Five days out two days home with possibility of spending the night at the house during the week. 90k+ servicing Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, southern Wisconsin, Illinois and southern Michigan. Easy money and home more often.

I worked local with a food service company but stayed for a year. then decided i wanted to go regional, but only lasted about 4 months and the pay was crap only running northeast and only pulling in 1,,700 miles on a good week. It wasn't good. decided to go back local and pay has been alot better now and i'm making $1,200 take home. but now working 13-14 hours a day and doing the same route. To be honest it really is getting old quick. and go Braves!!

My old man is OTR because he'd get bored driving local. It's not something he could handle to go to the same exact places every day or even every week. My wanderlust is cured by OTR as well. For some drivers and their partners, local just doesn't work. I have respect for local and dedicated route drivers, but for my old man and for myself, it just doesn't fit.

The only drivers that don't have a choice are the ones who have bad MVRs or don't speak english very well. All other drivers have options but each branch has pros and cons. For me, i could never get enough sleep running local. Average day was 12 to 14 hours, 5 days a week. That makes you old, fast. I'm OTR but dedicated so i get home a few days every week. Loads are never more then 500 miles from home. I'm happy with that and don't have to worry about falling asleep at the wheel.

New to your channel Brother and I appreciate the content~these social media gangsters just crack me up instead of taking the trucking industry seriously they’d rather come on social media to act a fool for no good dang reason other than to make themselves feel good. Trucking is a difficult job within itself yet why folks seem to want to make it harder just baffles the heck outta me. Be Blessed Be Safe

Honestly, I love being OTR because I stay out 2-3 months at a time so when I do go home, I stay home about 6 days. I would rather stay home for those consecutive days a few times a year than to work everyday and go home for my 10 hr break. I’m definitely going to think about slowing down in a year or two, though, if the money is right and do something local or dedicated maybe. For now I love my schedule. Btw, you have over 11K subscribers! 😀 People that are doing all the right things in life will always get those trying to bring them down. To have such an impact on others (whether they choose to respond in a negative or positive way) is an amazing skill. Keep up the excellent work 👍🏼

What's good my guy I live in Southern California. What would you consider local? Tell me if I'm right for example Los Angeles CA To Fresno CA is about 240 miles is that local?
@B2Speaks
@B2Speaks 2 ай бұрын
I would consider that local, but it also depends on if you can get back to your original starting point within your DOT 11 hr driving clock and 14 hr on duty clock. Traffic in southern California is about the worst in the nation, so it might be tough to turn almost 500 miles. But other than that, yes I would consider it local

I've been driving for over 30yrs.. almost all otr.. I have little respect for local drivers.. most who just come out of school and have never slept in a truck. Always in a hurry.. tailgating.. it's just a job to them.. it's a lifestyle for us.. they also won't go certain places like the north east..it takes toughness and fortitude to be an otr truck driver..
