12:48 don’t let your tank get below 1/4 for several reasons. Your fuel pumps get very warm when running in an empty tank and therefore actually benefits from being submerged since gasoline helps it stay cool, thus prolonging it’s life. Gasoline has a low boiling point, which means it evaporates faster than water does, so when your gas tank is low, it has that much room to evaporate into, therefore increasing its evaporation rate. Also, this gives more space for condensation to build up on the upper wall of the tank, which in case of a poor functioning EVAP system, water will eventually drip into the gasoline below, and since water is denser than gasoline, if enough builds up, it can get picked up by the pump, which will cause a myriad of other problems (this is especially true in humid and cooler climates). Finally, bringing your gas tank to such low point will leave you helpless in case of an emergency and you’re down to empty. Last thing you want to happen is to have to rush to the hospital for any kind of emergency and not being able to make it because your an out of gas. My experience comes from 12+ years deep in the automotive industry in various aspects.
@sc3ku Жыл бұрын
Came here to say this- very well explained!
@nylotical Жыл бұрын
Genuine Question; how does the gasoline evaporating at a lower temperature than water cause water droplets to form at the top? It can’t be that the water in the gasoline is evaporating since the gas evaporates before it. And how does the water condense at the top if the tank is heating up instead of cooling down? Not trying to disprove you, like I said, genuine inquiries.
@RaulV22 Жыл бұрын
@@nylotical I probably could have explained a little better. Gasoline’s lower evaporation temperature has little to do directly with condensation. However, gasoline in a low or near empty tank will evaporate faster than if it was full. If the tank is low or near empty, the missing liquid inside of it is replaced with air thanks to the EVAP system that “circulates” air in order to prevent said fumes from going into the atmosphere as fast, and therefore also keeping pressures low. The more air that’s in the tank, the more moisture you have. That larger level of moisture more quickly condenses into liquid during periods of rapid temperature changes, like driving in a warm day and parking in a cool night. If the gas tank was full or near full, that’s less air in the tank leaving less room for gasoline fumes to evaporate into and moisture to quickly turn into liquid.

The Ioniq 5 charges at 350kW. I've taken it on road trips and it's great! Charging to 80% usually takes around 10-18 minutes from whatever SOC I arrive at (I like to arrive at around 30%). Since the Ioniq 5 charges so quickly, sometimes I just let it get to 100%, which ends up being a 25-30 minute session, which is how long most Teslas take to get to 80%. That's more than enough time to use the restroom, get some food, and come back.
@williamakers1101 Жыл бұрын
You really have to stop for food or bathroom every 100 miles or so(whatever miles from 30% to 80%)? That seems really annoying to me. And then you cant just take a quick stretch and a 5 minute bathroom break at a rest stop, but instead have to wait 20 minutes or so every single time? Do they even have chargers at highway rest areas? Seems like a huge pain in the ass to have an electric vehicle. Did that guy really say he rented a garage for $350 a month just for his car to charge? None of this adds up to being anywhere near the ability of a gas car. Not to mention the large premium you pay for the vehicle, the tires wearing out much quicker, and the very real possibility of having to pay 15+k for a new battery one day and the chance of your car having to be totaled because of a small wreck that would otherwise not be a big deal for a gas vehicle.

As one of the 7 total pixel fold users in existence, I can confirm the best part of this phone is the accessibility of the outside screen. Video streaming and pictures are incredible on the inside screen, but I find myself only using the inside screen 10-20% of the time. I haven't had too many issues with the lack of large screen support in apps, but to be fair I don't use a ton of apps that I would even consider opening the phone up for to begin with. All good brick and mortar stores are flourishing. If a brick and mortar store fails it’s because it was in a bad area or a bad idea

I’ve thought the same thing, it will all come down to where the charging stations are placed. If they are just placed in massive service centres with chain fast food stores etc. usually on mayor highways just near small town bypasses, then probably not. If they placed inside those town right in the town centre, then maybe it could result in a resurgence in those types of small towns.

Slight correction: if you START charging at 50% its about the same as if you START at 10%, but if you start at 10%, its already going to be quite a bit slower by the time it gets to 50%. It basically starts slowing down the charge rate within a couple minutes of starting charging. I once saved 15 minutes on a road trip by leaving a v2 charger at 50% to get to a v3 with 10%. Depending how far the next charger is and how fast the next charger is (and the one after that one lol), I would say most often it's better to leave around 50% -65% if there's an equally fast supercharger within the right range

Thunderbolt seems a little too soon to put it on the Pro models, and I think there's no chance the regular 15 will be Lightning and 15 Pro will be USB-C, but for the data transfer speeds we have a couple options once we eliminate all of the other combinations that are not as likely: 1. iPhone 15 & 15 Plus (USB 2.0 480Mb/s (slower than the peak WiFi speed of these phones.) iPhone 15 Pro (USB 3.2 Gen 1 5Gb/s) iPhone 15 Pro Max (USB 3.2 Gen 1 5Gb/s) 2. iPhone 15 & 15 Plus (USB 3.2 Gen 1 5Gb/s) iPhone 15 Pro (USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gb/s) iPhone 15 Pro Max (USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gb/s) 3. iPhone 15 & 15 Plus (USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gb/s) iPhone 15 Pro (Thunderbolt/USB4 40Gb/s) iPhone 15 Pro Max (Thunderbolt/USB4 40Gb/s) 4. iPhone 15 & 15 Plus (USB 3.2 Gen 1 5Gb/s) iPhone 15 Pro (USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gb/s) iPhone 15 Ultra (Thunderbolt/USB4 40Gb/s) But I just don't think they will put Thunderbolt on any of the phones this year. The rumors of them putting USB 2.0 on the regular and 3.2 Gen 1 5Gb/s on the Pro models is really rampant this year, so I think that's the most likely scenario. And this is part of the reason why I also don't think the "Ultra" model won't be coming this year, but with the iPhone 16 series, because I think they'd want to put Thunderbolt on the phones before calling any model "Ultra".
