Have you ever wondered what it is 'exactly' that makes the factory bikes so much better than what the average person rides? Mike Sleeter was a KTM USA test rider for ten years and breaks it down for you.

Now we want the same history from Carmichaels Suzuki rm 250. A history long gone now, but there are some plenty of stories about it but only Ricky could confirm it. I would die to hear all about it, Decost/ Harisson same people different era and colours.

I'm telling you, you need to have Ryan Morais on. He has so many crazy stories and remember his qualifying lap times were right there with Bubbas when they turned pro. Ryan's career was riddled with injuries, but he was seriously one of the fastest dudes in early 2000's. You need to have him on!

You need to have Morais on. If Yamaha would have let him turn pro right away he would have been a 125 supercross champion. His lap times were .01-.3 seconds off Stewart when he turned pro that first year. Unfortunately he got hurt so we will never know, but I swear he would have won it all if went pro the year before. At the very least you had a really good shot at it.

I just posted this comment on another video when this one popped up. Cool video and it seems like a great place for me to repost my comment: "'I'm a cyclist (mainly MTB) but have become a big SX/MX fan, but am a bit in the dark on a lot of the ins and outs of dirtbikes. If someone could answer my questions I'd love to know more. Coming from the MTB world and seeing how MTBs differ in geometry, suspension designs, spec, frame materials/layup, most of my questions are based of that: 1. How come there are no carbon rims in SX/MX? (obviously they're ubiquitous in cycling, but are the weight advantages not worth the "risk" of breaking one?...even though they can be made incredibly strong) I would think the acceleration and cornering advantages would make them desirable 2. All the bikes use a rear swingarm design, but are they all "single pivot" and in the same location? Do different manufactures use different linkage designs for the rear suspension? 3. Does the geometry vary from manufacturer to manufacturer? If so, it there a simple answer? (ex. KTMs have shorter wheelbases, and steeper headtube angles) 4. Are all 450's the same amount of suspension travel regardless of the manufacturer? If so, why? Are there rules on that?"
@stratten4555 жыл бұрын
Gallup Journey Test Drives 1. The carbons wheels may be strong but with some cases at the speed we’re going if you come up short your screwed and I feel like you would break one. Working at a ktm dealership we have built fun carbon supermoto wheels so maybe in the future that while be a popular moto thing 2.because of different suspensions and how they move with different brands they all come stock with a pretty similar yet different linkage geometry but there are aftermarket options for performance linkages or lowering linkages 3.i know for a fact that all the manufacturers have a widely different geometry then the next and that they all perform different may it be there better over a jump or corner but I am not quite sure what the comparative wheel bases and stuff are but the geometry of the frame is usually based on the geometry of the motor and how it transfers it’s weight and flex characteristics 4. From 125cc (2-stroke) all the way up to a 450 (4 stroke) this class is also known as a “big bike”, off the showroom floor all of these bikes will have the same suspension and wheels and extra parts of such but having the motor size and frame to hold that specific motor. If you were to look at ktms line up of 125 to 450 they all have interchangeable suspension other then maybe a little different tuning

Interesting view of a test rider. SX is the big prestige championship and MX development seems to take second place. I would like to hear a test rider explaining to DeCoster that the Factory Edition is too SX oriented for MX. The stock bike is better. Then DeCoster on the phone to the factory.

For Better youtube presence...meaning your videos recognized by youtube to come up organically under multiple searches make them over 10 min...that's the cutoff off time for credibility...the youtube algorithm it set to that time because longer videos would should have better content and more selling time for commercials, if the video maker decided to put more adds....there is alot more reasons...it's just set up that way...love the effort and the chanel and would love to see it grow....good luck my friend.....

Lol Dungey got beat by Tomac that year because Tomac was wayyy faster. Tomac was arguably faster than anyone to ride a dirt bike that year. No bike setup was going to make Dungey competitive with Tomac that year...

@@sinki19841984 he was getting waxed by a minute+ bro. Setup isn’t going to make up that much time lol. At their level the setups are to make up tenths of seconds. Maybe a second a most. Tomac was like 3-5 seconds faster a lap the first 3 rounds

Who else is going to go cut their twinwalls now & put the pad back on to hide it ✋ Actually, I might cut it most of the way off and just leave a tiny piece holding it together at the bottom & I bet it will allow it to flex at least from landings etc.
