I remember watching a video where Mike O’Hearn, Jay Cutler, and Larry Wheels were training together, and it was hilarious because Mike O’Hearn spent the entire session giving them both advice, as if he was the most accomplished one out of the three. Great video! One thing I will say about the BP stretch (bringing the bar to the chest) - I have a very narrow torso when viewed from the side. In order for me to touch my chest, I have to come down significantly lower than most people (who have thicker torsos). If I go all the way, I'll damage my shoulders (one of which is already damaged from a bike accident resulting in a dislocation). Point is, not everyone should bring the bar down to the chest. Actually, i should say that not everyone CAN bring the bar right down to their chest SAFELY (key word).

It's been months since I last felt any pain while training. Just wanting to say that, because Mike always says it's okay not to do it if your shoulders are fucked up. This shit actually cured me.
@bobjohnson163310 ай бұрын
The shoulder joint is muscles and tendons attached to bones. Blood flow helps you to heal. If pain is from tendon wear, avoiding running the tendons across the bone and strengthening the muscle at the same time, solves the issues.
@dusk615910 ай бұрын
I wonder if it is something like not damaging the muscle too much while putting those body parts still under the positive process that is the exercise done

Like him or not Mike O'Hearn is a complete badass in the gym with big serious lifts and the fact that he's old and still where he's at is proof
@shaundouglas20572 ай бұрын
Mentally he seems rather disturbed, i think he's afraid to move on and due to that fear he is stuck in his own living hell due to being terrified of ageing. Call this a theory i may be completely wrong except about his mental state as that is very obvious.

Doing the right things for the wrong reasons. And sometimes not doing them exactly right, but well enough that they simply never fuck him up. It's a lucky guy that people shouldn't try to be, since you are unlikely to be a hyperresponsive fella with high resistance to drugs and training.

Mike is the perfect example of the type of person that should never go into management or leadership positions. 15:43 is a great example. Mike has clearly heard of "time under tension" and knows it's important. He doesn't know why (16:00) but he heard it once and wants to maintain the attention on himself, rather than prioritizing the the education itself.

As much as I'm worried about influencers openly expressing their use of gear to get the results they have, I beleive it to be better than those who claim to be natural who arent. What you can acheive as a result of lifting without additional help shouldn't be clouded by the desire of those who are too chicken to admit that theyre on juice.
