The city (U.S.) I live in allows us to own these batons but not carry them, concealed or otherwise. But you can walk around with a bat or a hammer or crowbar and they dont mind. You can carry a concealed firearm with a permit and openly without one but no colapsable batons with or without a permit. Seems kind of backward to me but at least Im not in London.

As a tax paying citizen...I can buy guns, knives, stun batons....ninja swords, cold steel throwing stars....BUT, for some reason, I can't buy an expandable baton? Is that nuts or what? The expandable baton would be perfect for walking, because it doesn't call attention to yourself....Looks like maybe a flashlight or something...But it's a great less than lethal defense tool when needed...Why is this off limits to citizens in a free country? I don't get it....I really like that "Peacekeeper" baton, but they won't sell to the citizens of this country....Apparently the cops have more rights than the citizens who are supposed to be the real government and owners here....What gives?

There are "perfect" counters and counters to counters, but reality does set in. I would not state, directly, that the explanation is doubtful reality, I would just desire to see it further explained. Is it one with friction lock or the mechanical lock? If it's friction lock you generally need to hold the grip with your index finger and thumb and let it hang straight down, then proceed to knock it against a hard, flat surface. Almost like dropping is straight down. But if it's bent due to striking things that might be impossible.

Unless I'm mistaken, it's a brand known as, "Bonowi," and it's German. Good luck even finding one outside of Germany. And, unless you are either: a) military; b) law enforcement, you are probably prohibited from even buying one. If you CAN get one, though, they're amazing. CNC machined, super-strong steel, that won't break, even if a full-sized SUV runs over it. But, there's a downside, too. Like all German inventions, it has waaaaaay too many working parts (56 in total) and all it takes is for one of those little things to break, and you're screwed. But you're right: it has a switch. It's called a, "Camlock," baton, and once extended, it is as rigid as a pipe. You need to push and hold the button to re-collapse it.

You speak as if the only thing he'll be doing at the time is concentrating fully on the baton. 1. Regardless if the guys left hand was free he's still in the worse position, the guy with the baton has the upper hand because he has control 2. He already mentioned the strikes will come first to weaken the attacker. Pretty hard to choke or stab someone when your hands and fingers are broken.

Yeah but all that shit goes out the window when you're actually moving and why would I be grabbing the shirt with my right hand and if I did why would I just let go instead of pulling him down with me and why would I grab him with only one hand? There's so much more wrong with this!

What I don't get is WHY no one uses his/her ExB as a knife or a spear. I 'stabbed' myself as a test with it, and man it hurt like a bitch and to do that you don't even have to swing it around, just a quick flip to expand it and use it as a knife. It's end is flat, so no risk of serious wounds, but it still delivers a powerful punch to the gut, to the ribs, or even the balls....

Not really, expandable batons are generally too light and back heavy to actually knock someone out. The idea is to hit muscles to cause internal bruising to make the muscle more difficult to use and the person easier to control. And that is where the techniques come in, this isn't for civilians trying to survive a street fight, it's for LEOs, security and prison guards that don't want to knock people out but rather control them and make an arrest.

2:30 now you have both hands tied, while he has one hand free. In a fight scenario I would definately try to stab you with my left hand at the time and with less than an arms lenght distance im nearly guaranteed to spill your guts with a knife. Thats what im thinking. Of course assuming you have no idea im carrying a knife, but nonetheless anything can happen on a street, so my thinking is if you wield a weapon that gives you range advantage over the enemy, NEVER CLOSE THE DISTANCE FIRST.
@JahmekyaNo13 жыл бұрын
Never close the distance and wrap up with anyone. I got stabbed like that once and did not know it until I saw the blood. This is not based on real world fighting where others are trying to seriously hurt or kill you! This technique is bad advice, especially for those who are not used to fighting.
@Noadvantage2462 жыл бұрын
