As a native North Carolinian that still lives here in lower center part of the state I can safely say that most of us here know someone personally effected by the devastation in the western part of the state. Areas where we would vacation like Asheville, Blowing Rock, Boone, Chimney Rock, etc. Heck my wife and I even honeymooned in Maggie Valley! A lot of those smaller rural towns and crossroads will never come back. Structures like the Iron Works and in your other video would have stood up to the pounding. You can tell a lot of sweat went into building that. On a side note if any of your wonderful readers are able they can go donate to the relief efforts online at the Samaritans' Purse website to make a donation. It's a group headed by the Billy Graham ministries. They're doing a great job in the relief efforts. FEMA sucks.

@digittbr1688 I'm glad your safe ,considering your location. My thoughts and prayers have been with all those affected, I think this may be the worst storm in modern history, pretty much affected the whole south east. Your right about fema bro...the government isn't here to help infact it's the polar opposite. I pinned your comment so folks know about Samaritans purse. Thank you !

Thank you so much. I live in Florida and survived hurricane Michael. Besides the destruction the hours and hours we spent trying to cut through the insurance and red tape was horrible. Now thanks to our far right governor it is much more difficult for residents to sue insurance companies for low payouts. Hurricane coverage is an add on to a homeowners policy. We sued and won but of course the company canceled our policy for the following year. It's a. Nightmare.

@davestrang8585 wow ! I'm sorry you had to ho through that nitemare . Unfortunately anything we pay into such as insurance and taxes we get nothing in return. We all have to prepare to help ourselves and our neighbors while the red tape fraud plays out and is essentially worthless in times of need.

Cool place. Iron furnaces in Ky. made a variety of products, kettles, pots, sad irons, wagon wheels. This one actually made cannonballs for General Andrew Jackson during 1812. Praying for all the hurricane survivors! In my thoughts daily. Concerned about the next one on it's way,so scary for so many,we are in perilous times for sure. Stay safe friends and neighbors. Be prepared as best you can.
