There is one point I'd like to argue. Although Jyggalag returns and conquers the Shivering Isles once every era, there is NOT a new champion of Sheogorath every era. In the expansion, Sheogorath says so Himself that this is the first time He ever thought to have a mortal take His throne. Mantling him or her as the new Madgod. Haskill confirms this. So yes, the character of Oblivion was the first mortal to succeed defeating Jyggalag, but also the first mortal to ever attempt it! Quite fantastic.
@TheExploringSeries6 жыл бұрын
So, that idea is taken from the Interview with Haskill posted here: www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-gb/news/post/25313 Specifically where he states that he is a vestige, "all that remains of a mortal from your world who 'mantled' Sheogorath during an event in a previous time. As a fragment, my memory of the event is … fragmentary. I am hazy on the entire concept of 'mantling,' but it had something to do with Lord Sheogorath, myself, and this Jyggalag of whom you speak." Whether or not you want to accept that as canon is up to you.
@Eric-yt7fp6 жыл бұрын
I take that to assume Sheogorath had wanted Haskill to take on his role, but failed.
@goolabbolshevish1t6516 жыл бұрын
TheExploringSeries that mortal was likely from a previous Kalpa (time line) as time in the elder scrolls is circular.
@sancturillore6 жыл бұрын
Furthermore, if a mortal could take Sheogorath's place each time, it would mean that Sheogorath would be freed of his curse each time, which doesn't make sense. Sheogorath turned into Jyggalag and destroys the Isle. If he's beaten, then the champion can become the new Sheogorath and Jyggalag doesn't become Sheogorath again, thus being freed of the curse. As such, the new Sheogorath isn't Jyggalag and never will become him like in the events of the DLC. After all, Jyggalag is now doing his own things elsewhere. As such, that statement was likely about either Haskill trying to take on Sheogorath's role, but failing, or about the same events that the player character go through, but in a previous kalpa with a different mortal.
@skbartistry24736 жыл бұрын
I don't see the fantastic part in it. Jyggalag wants everything to follow the plans he have laid and cannot tolerate original thought. The character of Oblivion was a "once in an era" champion and hero and thus had to use vast amounts of original thought. Most likely way more than what Jyggalag could possibly expect. So the champion defeated Jyggalag by praying on his weaknesses. Those being what he couldn't tolerate

If Jyggalag is so dominant over logic that he can predict every event that will ever happen and kept this in a library, could this mean he would end up in some sort of conflict with Hermaeus Mora? Mora covets all knowledge, and this would be an extremely great prize for him. I wonder if this would lead them to conflict, or perhaps even cooperation in the times to come. It's interesting that two Daedric Lords with so much reason to at least in some way associate with one another both featured heavily in the last DLCs for two subsequent Elder Scrolls games. Perhaps they have an important role to play together in the future games.

It’s weird. Sheogorath is certainly the most dangerous Prince to interact with due to his insanity. But at the same time, he’s also the nicest and safest one to interact with. He’s generally in a friendly mood. He has a quick temper and can be annoyed easily but his generally cheerful demeanor doesn’t let him do anything too rash. Plus, his plane of Oblivion is the only plane of Oblivion that is a place you could describe as being non hostile. And Sheogorath doesn’t seem to have really any sort of animosity towards mortals. In fact, he’s not very condescending towards anyone. Just kind of harshly joking at times. And he doesn’t treat you like your inferior to him because your a mortal, sure he brags about that, but he only slightly treats you like your inferior because he is a Daedric Prince. He’s somewhat honest and actually provides you with a whole lot when you help him…unlike any other Daedric Prince. And with someone like Haskill at his side it is very clear that Sheogorath is not purely insane and he can listen to reason. He’s crazy and says some of the most messed up and gruesomely detailed things I’ve ever heard…but when you are on his good side, well he might almost consider you a friend. I’d argue that he is one of if not the least evil Prince. He shows more empathy and sympathy than any Daedric Prince. He likes chaos and cheese. If it doesn’t involve at least one of those two then he doesn’t care. The dude’s cool in my book and if I had to choose a Daedric Prince to serve i would choose him without hesitation.

Kinda makes sense Jyggalag is absent. Even if he is truly free he has no realm to call his own. A daedric prince's realm is part of them. So he is likely doing what he can to reestablish himself in Oblivion without provoking the other princes. As to the story of the artist...it wasn't revealed Sheogorath did nothing but rather that he cut all ties between the man and any divine entity, especially Vermina. So the man did drive himself to his own fate by himself but the method of doing so was by making sure there could be no divine succor for him. It was a truly inspired thing Sheogorath did.
@YOGI-kb9tg6 жыл бұрын
Jacob Freeman more than likely jyggalag just made a new realm of oblivion or went to a realm that that none of the other deadra rule over the reason he isn't in the other games is to do with worshippers and jyggalag has no worshippers as he was part of sheogorath since the myrethic era so there are no mortal who know of him so he has no worshiper which the deadra rely on worshippers as a sort of link to nirn so if a deadra has no worshippers or if no knows of his existence they can't effect mondus at all
@jacobfreeman54446 жыл бұрын
HiiPER MaaDMaan People know of Jyggalag. He just hasn't been heard from since the early eras. Those not in the know were confused why he wasn't doing as the others princes do. We know he was, in fact, cursed into being Sheogorath. But that isn't common knowledge in the TES world. But you are right that his lack of presense in mortal minds means he is likely quite weak still. Which is why I think he is laying low. He would still have enemies in the other princes and lacking a realm of his own since that got ate up by Sheogorath. He just doesn't have the strength and presense to face off against 16ish other beings of like stature. But he is the type to try and change that. So I can see future games hinting at his presense if, indeed, the events of shivering isles are to be considered canon. But he can't be open about it. If the other princes caught his scent you know they would try their best to crush him before he could get back on his feet. He was such a threat to them before they cursed him. Surely they would not allow him the chance to recover if they knew he was skulking around.

Thats not how the grey march works. The only time a mortal replaced Sheogorath was when The Hero of Kvatch did in oblivion. At the end of every era when the grey march occurs Sheogorath only temporarily reverts to Jyggalag and then after the shivering isles are thoroughly destroyed he reverts back. The only reason he was mantled (i.e replaced to an extent that the replacement literally becomes the person they were replacing) in oblivion is because when we defeat Jyggalag and stop the grey march we end the cycle an make Jyggalag the sole persona while we take the prince of madness' place.

Exactly. Jyggalag switches back into Sheogorath after each Greymarch to rebuild his realm all over again until the next Greymarch comes. The Hero of Kvatch broke that cycle by defeating Jyggalag. There is no proof or reference that mortals have taken the mantle before, it was only until the Hero of Kvatch came that a mortal became Sheogorath.

Basically the curse is “whoever kills Sheogorath becomes Sheogorath” and because Jyggalag wants to take his realm back and tries to rid his realm of chaos and madness Jyggalag and Sheogorath will always be part of the same Prince. But because the Hero won, now Chaos and Order exist at the same time and I don’t think Jyggalag will stand by forever while Sheogorath spreads his insanity and plagues a realm that once belonged to him.

There's a theory I quite like that Jyggalag was always the prince of madness, and that becoming Sheogorath didn't change anything in that regard: while Sheogorath represents the manic and demented forms of madness, Jyggalag represents obsession, which is just as unhealthy as the others. Albert Einstein said that 'insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results', and that very much applies to Jyggalag, constantly destroying the Shivering Isles despite knowing that Sheogorath will rebuild it all, and that his attempts to establish Order are futile. I wonder if, since the events of the DLC, Jyggalag has been exploring Mundus: after all, when he was cursed to become Sheogorath, it is likely that the mortal plane had yet to exist. So, being free, he now has the opportunity to gather information about this realm which wasn't there when he last looked, and maybe we'll run into him again at some point.

Would be cool if Elder Scrolls 6's (or 7's) main antagonist would be Jyggalag. Since he's against free will and individuality, people would probably not want him to conquer Nirn. Maybe you start off the game: the narrator explains (maybe with a cool cutscene) how after a certain event that maybe happened after Skyrim. Jyggalag started conquering worlds. One after another, the daedric princes were powerless to him. And in the end, he conquered Nirn. So you start off as the prophesied hero told in the Elder Scrolls, that would restore the balance since there can't be only order without chaos (yin and yang). The world is in complete control by Jyggalag, where free will and creativity didn't exist. But, you are the prophesied hero who is the new Prince of Madness. p.s during Jyggalag conquest, he killed Sheogorath because he hated everything he stood for. But a small part of Sheogorath survived and escaped, trying to find a new host. So you're the only one in the world that has free will and can restore balance because you're the Prince of Madness. Of course without his powers, only a small piece of Sheogorath survived, small enough to free you from Jyggalag's control. I think it would be cool if it was like that one ww2 game where under Nazi control the whole area of that map is grey and colourless, and then when you free them from Nazi control colour is restored. So first it's just grey, every person is like a mind slave, no happiness, no sadness, just blank emotions. But then when you free them from Jyggalag's control that place gets back its colour and people have emotions again. I'm not sure if you (the protagonist) should have any superpowers like Skyrim since you are the new Prince of Madness. But maybe your superpower is just that you cannot be controlled? And instead of using your own superpowers when fighting Jyggalag in the boss fight, since don't have any superpowers. During the game you go around to the different planes of Oblivion, freeing them from Jyggalag, and as a reward, they'd help you fighting Jyggalag. So you're fighting Jyggalag, and you wonder, where the fuck are the Daedric princes? And then suddenly, when you're about the be defeated, all 14 daedric princes (or how many they are, I counted from a wiki page) stand beside you. There will be some quick cheesy dialog like "Jyggalag: You couldn't defeat me then, how are you going to defeat me now!" "Everyone... or just one daedric prince: Because before we fought separately, not this time!". And they all fuse into you, creating the ultimate Daedric Prince. The Prince of Power. The Prince of Life. The Prince or Freedom. Or something cheesy like that. So now, your only power during the game was freedom, but now. This boss fight, you have _ALL_ the power, you have UNLIMITED POWER!!!!!! You can summon Daedras from a flick of the wrist, fly, shoot laser beams. You have four arms, beast companion, all knowledgeable, animal-like... basically, you are all the daedric princes in one body. After the fight, you obviously won't keep all that power, but now that Jyggalag is defeated, the Daedric Princes give you his plane of Oblivion to you. So now you have your own plane of Oblivion (which you can fully customize to your liking). You take the mantle of the new Sheogorath. I know they made you Sheogorath in elder scrolls 4. But this is not the same situation. There you defeated Jyggalag and he made you the new Sheogorath. Here you are prophesied and you are the new _reborn_ Sheogorath, with almost no powers. Holy fuck! This is the longest youtube comment I've ever written!

I’d love to see Jyggalag in future Elder Scrolls games. If the Shivering Isles DLC for Oblivion is canon, then Jyggalag should be a completely separate Daedric Prince from Sheogorath, and therefore should be able to contact the player and Tamriel. It’d also be cool to see him beating the shit out of the other Princes, yknow, after turning him in an insane madman for a while. Cool way to show off his power.

I'd find it interesting if by the time of a relatively modernized Tamriel, that Jyggalag had gone on a crusade across the realms of Oblivion and even conquered a couple. I would imagine that despite having a couple centuries to recuperate that he wouldn't be back to full power yet and would be struggling on his conquest. Like what if he's already re-conquered the Shivering Isles and crusaded across several Pocket Realms, Mehrunes Dagon's realm, Apocrypha, and a few other of the major entities realms. BUT is currently struggling with conquering Coldharbour and like Azura's and Meridia's realms. That would be cool actually and I would like to see some form of that take shape in the next main series game. As well as a having another Greymarch event happen in a DLC for ESO. (For those that are unaware, ESO's story takes place during the 2nd era. Long before the events of Morrowind and Oblivion.

Why was the Orc taken to Sheogorath's domain for eternal punishment when Sheogorath rules over insanity? I have trouble finding anything about eternal punishment in the Shivering Isles.
@TheExploringSeries6 жыл бұрын
Sheogorath specifically requested that he be allowed to take the Orc to his plane to exact his own punishment. You can read the story here: en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:16_Accords_of_Madness,_v._XII

Truely, in its, my headcanon is that Sheograth is the prince of Madness AND order which would explain why all the other prince's had to team up on him instead of just a few prince's so they can split the Sheograth 2 domains. Just having either domain of order or Madness is extremely powerful as theirs is order or Madness in everything, which also happens to draw power from other prince's domains as each has a bit of Madness and order to them

What if it was jyggalags/sheagoraths plan to set himself free by putting you in power? For a daedric prince of order death is better than transformation in Prince od madness? He is very manipulative. He could have tricked us into assuming that he is transforming. Or just straight up drove main character into madness.

you got the whole champion versus jygalagg thing wrong, while it is possible you wernt the first mortal shegorath tried to use, you were the only one to mantle him, as jyggalagg would have killed the rest only to turn back into sheogorath, afterall if a previous mortal did mantle him then jyggalag would have been freed from th curse, you cant just have 2 sheogoraths at once

I'll bet Jyggylag will have a big part in the next game. Maybe not the main story, but he'll have one. In the Skyrim mod, Vigilant (which you need to try if you havn't), he actually ends up invading Coldharbour and killing Molag Bal in his weakened state. I'll bet he's up to something like that in canon.

@ShadowTheYoukai6 жыл бұрын
Well, this'll contain some spoilers for Elder Scrolls Skyrim, so don't scroll further down if you don't want it. Right, so in Solitude, you'll probably come across an insane Dark Elf named Dervenin, who asks you to go and find his master in the Pelagius Wing of the Blue Palace (gotta get a key from one of the servant girls to unlock the door). Going down the hall gets you transported to another place entirely. And you end up finding Sheogorath himself talking to Pelagius the Mad. So, after talking to the Mad God, you can have him mention 'a Fox, butterflies, and a severed head'. The Gray Fox from the Thieves Guild, the enclosed room upon first entering the Shivering Isles, and Mathieu Bellamont's mother's head from the Dark Brotherhood quest. Which basically means that the Sheogorath in Skyrim is the Hero of Kvatch from Oblivion upon embracing their role as Sheogorath.

The hero from Oblivion has become the new Sheogorath and Jyggalag is free. They have effectively become two separate Deadra that were once one. Odds are that eventually they will come to blows with each other seeing as how they are both the exact opposite of each other and represent what they each hate. I worry what sort of damage will happen because of it.

If the Greymarch happens at the end of every era, doesn't that mean that we know it has happened five times total? Once at the end of the Dawn Era, once at the end of the Merethic Era, once at the end of the First Era, once at the end of the Second and once at the end of the Third?

martijn van weele There are multiple kalpas.
@martijnvanweele62046 жыл бұрын
Yes, but they are never the same. Different et'Ada become Daedra and Aedra. Peryite, for instance, is theorized to be destined to be the Akatosh of the next kalpa. If that is the case, I find it unlikely that Jyggalag would embody the same aspects in different kalpas, meaning that in a lot of kalpas, Sheogorath might never have come into being, or Jyggalag might have never existed and always had been Sheogorath. It is highly unlikely that other Kalpas have had and/or will have greymarches too.

@zool2019756 жыл бұрын
waait @7:00 and on thats not right the cycle was broken by having a mortal taking the banner of sheogorath not made. the cysle is that Jyggalag is cursed by the other daedra princes as his ability to predict outcomes made him more pwoerful lthen the three other strongest combined. they cursed Jyggalag with madness and that was the birth of SHeogorath. the gray march is always followed by the change back to his cursed form sheogorath. its being explained by sheogorath (in a less conspicuous way) before the end and after the end haskil tells you all the details of it.Shivering isles is actually the creation of a new entity a real sheogorath not an cursed form of jyggalag. juyg still exists he was simply driven away from the isles as you cannot kill a daedric prince (thats why jyggalag got cursed) the sheogorath of skyrim has to be the player after shivering isles as he / she took the mantle of a daedric prince and as for it being male remind yourself daedric princes they have no real form to begin with no real gender. unlike lesser daedra. daedra have many genesis stories. as sheogorath is not the first to be born of a mortal (that is actually documented most princes have varying myths from varying ethnic groups).

i had an idea for what the story of elder scrolls 6 would be if it was in high rock. Jyggalag could cause a war between the dievins and the dadra and the mane character would have to go to Adamantine tower which would take him/her to different realms of oblivion so he/she could find a way to stop the war
@thelaughingman69756 жыл бұрын
I always questioned. Do Herma-Mora and Uncle Sheo work together? The black books make people go mad. Sheo is my favorite. Hell he had the best Daedric and DLC quest. Every time I see a crazy mad person in elder scrolls I tend to think, "Did Sheo gave this guy a visit?" And now that I think of it, did Sheo mess with Sithis? Cause Cicero (my favorite DB member) did go crazy. Sheo for World Leader!
@easedcrab72m886 жыл бұрын
It's definitely a two sided coin. Daedric princes rarely work together and I mean RARELY. It's different with the black books because they make you go insane because the mortal brain can't handle the immense knowledge given to them. Compared to sheogoraths artifact that makes them go mad with pure insanity. The black books definitely could help sheogorath in that the mortals who went insane could be led on a path to be taken by sheo, but they probably just belong to H. Mora because that knowledge is his.
@shadowhell83786 жыл бұрын
I hope we get more from the daedra in elder scrolls 6 maybe have a quest line for each and get a daedric artifact at the end. I really hope we get a quest line in order to become a prue vampire and a alpha werewolf and that they are better than skyrims un moded vampire and werewolf.

So Sheogorath brought back the Deadra everyone feared, while a champion takes over and becomes Sheogorath. So the other Deadra now have too worry about Jyggalag again. As well a Sheogorath. That's a power move, undo their betrayal. And keep the consequences for their action around too make it worse
