A funny fact you didn't mention was the argonians were so effective at combating the deadra, they managed to invade the deadra realm itself through the oblivion gates and the deadra had to close them so they wouldn't be attacked anymore.

I feel like the reason people like Argonians (and the Khajiit) so much is due to how different they are from humans. There's something intrinsically fascinating about things that are almost completely indescribable to us. It's the reason why I love Stormlight's Listeners, the Mi-Go, and Iain M. Banks' Affront.

I kinda want the next Elder Scrolls game to be set in Black Marsh, and have the intro and beginning area subscribe to the stereotype that it's back water and nastily swampy, but as we progress towards the center, unexplored areas we discover grand, huge, ancient cities and advanced civilization and deep culture. We learn that the Argonians have preserved their past and that their histories have similarities to common history, with noticeably different take on events and what some might have omitted in order to lessen their contribution. I want some of the great magic, technology, etc. to be shown to have Argonian roots that others have co-opted and claimed as their own without acknowledging that it came from 'beastial savages.' I want that.
@rob679
@rob679 6 жыл бұрын
Unless something happens in the lore, inner Black Marsh would be impossible to travel for any race that isn't Argonian. No roads at all, deadly poison mists and ponds, plagues, beasts or even god damn flesh fleas devouring you alive. That's why Black Marsh is so mysterious - nobody can travel inside it (or they can, but in the one way). Argonians themselves aren't very talkative unless Hist wants them to do so.
@coolergman8629
@coolergman8629 6 жыл бұрын
Robert Prus Another thing which prevents a Black Marsh Game is that according to the lore their are different tribes of Argogians who all have different features. I doubt Bethesda wants to make a bunch of different sub races this is the same reason I think an Elyswyr game is unlikely. All though from a lore perspective I don't see why it wouldn't possible for other races to travel into the Disease ridden interior it would just be a major pain in the ass to travel though.

The Cantina is a channel that talked about that. He thought that the Black Marsh would be interesting to see, and a lot of fans agreed. But he also admitted that Bethesda probably wouldn't be willing to put forth the effort to make such an alien landscape.

and in the oblivion crisis every1 needed heroes and gods to help defeat the daedric when the portals open. But the argonians did not need help, the portal open in black march and a massive argonian army invaded the daedric realm, not the other way around. They destroyed the daedric prince forces, killed everything in their pass and stole all their shi*. the daedric prince did close the portal and did not mess with the argonians anymore. THEY ARE SO BADASS =) my fav. (sorry bad eng and late response)

Argonia is probably closer to the amazon, not africa or australia. They have central american architecture also makes me think more south america than anywhere else. My opinion is that the ebonheart pact does not last long. The daggerfall covenent has already fallen in ESO. It is basically held together from good will from repealing the Akiviri from Tamerial, I think once the current generation of war vets passes the whole thing will fall apart... unless it is just the will of the Hist. The part I didn't know was that the Reman Dynasty stopped argonian slave trade, assuming that the Potentates also kept that policy I can see how the ebonheart pact might make a little more sense if some of the dark elves had already stopped the slaving for a few hundred years. I think that maybe ES6 could be in Argonia now there are a bunch of more other likely locations, the Aldmeri dominion zones. But with Argonia on the rise in Skyrims point in history might be a good time to visit.... still that is years away.
@aysseralwan
@aysseralwan 6 жыл бұрын
narvuntien the ebonheart pact is founded by repelling the akaviri Invasion. The daggerfall covenant is more a union of Orcs, Redguards and Bretons to stabilize the Empire and crisis so that trade, wealth and peace can return to tamriel.

I would love elder scrolls 6 to be set in Black Marsh. I love the swampy and jungle-y look and feel. I don't know how they would do it, however, since it appears most of Black Marsh's population is just Argonians, and it would also feel a little weird to have an entire open-world game take place in a water- and vegetation-covered landscape. Morrowind, Cyrodiil and Skyrim at least had a bit of variety in landscape, but Black Marsh seems very monotonous. But who knows, maybe there is some kind of drastic change between Skyrim and Elder Scrolls 6 that causes Black Marsh to become open to more cultures, and maybe Elder Scrolls 6 could feature Black Marsh as well as Elsweyr and southeastern Cyrodiil?

One of these Argonians left Black Marsh on vacation to Skyrim only to be arrested by the empire and brought to the chopping block. And then a certain world eater showed up and he escaped to the small town of Riverwood where he then went to Whiterun to get guards and soldiers to the unprotected town of Riverwood and was sent to a burrow to retrieve a Dragon Stone and he learns a shout then kills a dragon with some guards shouts and learns that he’s Dovahkiin. He went to High Hrothgar and learned more shouts, went to get the horn of Jurgen Windcaller but found only a note saying to meet in Riverwood. Kill some cultists, rent a room, meet the Blades, go to Windhelm for no reason, talk to a kid, go to Riften kill a hag, save orphans, kill Thalmor punks, save a Blade member... and killed the World eater, but the maid and merchant had to stay in Sovngarde and the size 10 giant jumped off a cliff in Sovngarde and died, he then decided to kill Miraak, the person who sent the cultists, so him and his army of size 0.1 trolls invaded Solstheim and killed Miraak and consumed his soul, then he killed vampires and saved the sun. And then he built a house. And then Godzilla appeared and destroyed Windhelm looking for his cousin (the player) and eventually the Argonian went back to Black Marsh with his cousin, Godzilla and that is the Kilian Experience.

There's a lot about Argonian's backstory I love but I have to admit the first thing that always draws me to them is how much better they look in the games compared to the other races. I don't know why but their facial features and skin just come off better than the skin, hair, and fur on everyone else. That and I love humanoid aquatic and lizard creatures and they fall into both categories. Whether it's Lovecraft, modern cosmic horror, or characters like Abe Sapien and even Kit Fisto that's something that will always catch my attention.

It's also to be noted that the Hist Trees acknowledge Sithis as their master. I honestly think they were like an evil tree race at one point, spread across the Tamriel and the world as rumored before they were all cut down (by ???) from everywhere else but Black Marsh.

Hist aren't just trees. Hist exists within all life to a certain extent, but more so within the trees than anywhere else, but I like to think of it as a collective consciousness that does allow for individuality within it framework. Like if Sovengarde was a being as well as a place. It's a survivor of the twelve worlds that existed at the dawn of the Mythic era, the twelve worlds that were destroyed and whose fragments were used to create nirn, and perhaps has memories going all the way back to the destruction of those worlds and the creation of nirn and Tamriel. Black Marsh is the sole surviving fragment of that world which was more than likely covered in trees of the Hist.

they dont need a map they either know their way around or the hist can guide them, it would only be useful to outsiders anyway, that and some of the areas in blaskmarsh shift from time to time, i beleive there was a book in game that mentioned there was an imperial controlled villiage that slowly moved around the provence making it difficult for outsiders to keep track of it and sometimes required a guide

On paper, Argonians seem to be the most op race.Weird how they are not able to conquer other provinces or enslave other races. Hard scales that can possibly act as armor, major disease and poison resistance, hive mind hist trees, breathing underwater. Literally super humans

So, according to lore, agonians should have an increased health in any games that happen after the Oblivion Crisis. Also, Argonians can be compared to Africans, in the sense of their treatment, and their province draws a parallel to Australia, as it is used as a drop off for cruel and renown criminanls. That would also mean that, in many ways, The Empire also draws parallels to the empire that Britain once had. In many other ways, it does not. Interesting. I wonder what parallels might be drawn to High Rock or Hammerfell in the Elder Scrolls VI. It'll be fun to make those connections, in my opinion

It's interesting how the aesthetic of native central Americans (ie. Aztecs, Mayans) has become so associated with dense overgrown jungle. In reality, the Mayans, like the rest of humanity normally does, had deforested the entire Yucatan Peninsula. However, due to a period of depopulation in the 800s AD (long before Spanish contact), the jungle crept back in. And by the time of Spanish contact most Mayan cities had been abandoned to the jungle, hence the return of the jungle. But I think its nonetheless important to recognise the mind blowing fact that Mayan cities were... just normal cities, surrounded by fields of crops planted on deforested land.

Argonians are no doubt mysterious, interesting and lusty indeed. Another favourite race of mine in skyrim. Makes you think Dinosaur DNA spread to another world to live on and to make a new race. 🦎 🔥 ⚔. 👍. Indeed Umu. 🌹.

Argonian gender changes through their life phases. It's the form the Argonians take that is determined by the hist sap, similar to how Khajiit form is determined by the moons.

Life-phase is the reincarnation your on. If in your previous life you were male, in the next life your female. They were created by the Hist, when they die they return to the Hist to be reborn as another Argonian.
