Very poor review. You guys want a stiff suspension for doing corners on an ADV seriously?
@mr_robot_tech3 жыл бұрын
Himalayan is better offroader anytime, not only in handling off-road condition but it can be repaired by any motor mechanic due to its simplified engineering almost anywhere in country whereas in BMW you have limitations.

Bmw is better than Himalayan because of seat comfort and milage and also weight ratio.. and good service but it is costly ❤️

The new 450 Dakar Himalayan will be a killer ADV bike. That is what I will purchase next. As an older rider, I much prefer the retro rugged look of the RE to the BMW sporty look. I imagine the new 450's will have brake upgrades, which will compete with higher level ADV bikes.

Ive seen both the gs and the himalayan, gs looks a class apart, definately grabs the attention of the people and is certainly an eye Turner, but it is only a good choice if there are showrooms available close by.

Very important factor which needs to be considered for touring is usable tank capacity. Bmw has only 8 to 8.5 ltrs of usable capacity where as himaliyan has 12ltrs. (Keeping fuel for fuel pump) This clearly gives himaliyan a longer range one can travel without a fuel stop. Plus RE service present is way more than bmw.
@deepakru4 жыл бұрын
I think Himalayan has a 15 ltr tank
@ijs_autoandmore4 жыл бұрын
@@deepakru yes exactly 15 with fuel injection so u need to leave 3 ltrs for pump , thus usable is 12ltrs U can not run the tank dry with fi pump needs to be submerged.

And very low maintenance on the himalayan... Riding in the himalayas will make one realise which is more practical... But appreciate what bmw has done with the bs6 version vis a vis price and features 👍

I would choose the gs all day... better build qualities, sharper look and will last For ever! More torque and power, torque is what you need off roading.. and the fuel tank is not 8.5 but 11 liters. Consuming a liter for every 18.6 miles... I reckon you have a winner

I think it is important to also look at reliability, even though it is not clear for a new design. Consumer Reports in the US collected thousands of owner surveys a few years ago, summarized by Yammie Noob on KZbin for 2 videos, the 5 most reliable and the 5 least reliable motorcycles. As you probably expect, Yamaha did the best, and BMW scored very low for reliability. Royal Enfield did not sell enough in the US at that time to make the list.

Still RE is cheaper can easily be repaired locally here in India 🇮🇳 The service of BMW is not easily accessible in remote areas ...
@vxn_shetty4 жыл бұрын
It's completely different when you see the bikes in USA . For us Indians we are cost conscious. A normal family can't afford a 10000$ bike even the 5000$ bike looks a lot. Here himalayan seems like a better choice its cheap compared to others, wide service networks. While the BMW is a bit expensive + the service centers are the main issue in india. You wouldn't find it everywhere. Normally here people take their RE to a local workshop too but I am not sure about the BMW. Well the things is u get what u pay for 😂 I always belive that if someone ask me which laptop to buy I would say buy the expensive one its expensive for a reason. So same thing goes for bikes. The more you pay the better the features u get

Please go home and do some homework guys. See below points. 1. Very basic, quality of video poor 2. Very basic, quality audio very poor, invest and buy better camera and mics. 3. Content of the video like others mentioned, need to be more than what you personally feel. 4. You have missed out on the fuel tank range, serviceability of the motorcycles, service cost & service centers. 5. Coming to motorcycle, GS is made for adv touring and a bit of off road not for bending in corners (if you want to do go for most confused KTM adv390). 6. Himalayan has got tubed tires! Come on I don't want any complications when my tires are punctured. 7. GS is really good and comfortable for long touring with pillion, so is Himalayan. 8. I think it's not "standing on foot pegs" it's called as "saddling". 9. The ground clearance for GS is 200mm not 220mm. 10. Otherwise you are doing good my friend. Hope to see more improved video content. All the best!

Ride it alongside Himalayan on a hilly terrain u would change ur perspective for sure. Having ridden both can say that with confidence, Himalayan chugs through off roads while GS falls behind in that department partly bcoz when u are offloading u are on the lower band of the RPM, while GS gets the power post 4000 rpm mark Himalayan starts getting torquey at 2500RPM and on off roads thats what is more important than looks, equipment and company badge.

I have a Himalayan & it’s really shitty … I haven’t driven the BMW GS so can’t say much but the Himalayan driving comfort is really shitty. Service at Royal Enfield is bad . Many cheap parts can be seen & experienced . I regret not buying the KTM adventure would have been better if I would have spent a lot more & opted for KTM which is far far better but little expensive . Even the KTM 250 instead of 390 would have been a better option. The ride on Himalayan feels unsafe & no way in comparison to the BMW G 310 GS & KTM ADVENTURE 250 or 390.
