This year, 2020, is one I cannot wait for it to be over! I lost my Father-In-Law (a Vietnam Veteran) and my Father (a Korean War Veteran) within five months of each other. My Father-In-Law died in May and my Father died on October 16th. This is my first Veterans Day without them .... without me being able to call them and thanking them for their service as well! PLEASE, if you have a family member who is a Veteran, call them and tell them how much they mean to you and how much you love them!! Because TRUST ME, you will wish you had done it more when they are gone!! GOD BLESS ALL OF OUR VETERANS!!!! @Hollywood Graveyard thank you so much for doing this!!

Not only very respectful to the men and women who fought for the creative freedom of their craft of entertainment, but illustrating that just like a successful battle, entertainment depends on both the famous and unknown. LANC is unique in that the older section (north) has all the uprights and the "newer" section (south) has the flat, ground markers. LANC is full up to new interrements, unless there is a companion crypt for a spouse of family members. Thats why they built the new columbaria across the freeway.

LANC is in my Top 3 favorite SoCal cemeteries. And w/ the new columbaria, across the 405, it makes it that much more honorable to me. I've visited quite a few of the famous that Arthur showcased here but my fascination w/ these hallowed grounds are the 14 Medal Of Honor recipients that call this place their Valhalla. Anyone else notice just how many of these actors were officers during their military careers? I always feel the sheer honor of those that rest at LANC when I visit. Makes me proud to walk amongst those that served before me. And a nice shout out to my fellow shipmates interred here.

In one video, Mr. Dark could only cover a few out of the thousands who rest at LANC. 🙂 Also, there are a great many who served, however, they rest at other cemeteries. 🙏 The list of veterans who were entertainers is long and includes: Audie Murphy (most decorated), Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, Jason Robards, Clark Gable, Robert Montgomery, R. Lee Ermey, Glenn Ford, Forrest Tucker, James Garner, Buster Keaton, Don Knotts, Buddy Hackett, Johnathan Winters, Rock Hudson, Wilford Brimley, Elvis Presley, Red Buttons, Charles Durning, Rod Steiger, Sterling Hayden, Neville Brand, Jack Warden, Harry Dean Stanton, Humphrey Bogart, Charlton Heston, Robert Stack, Ernest Borgnine, Jack Palance, Charles Bronson, Kirk Douglas, Cesar Romero, Johnny Carson, Harry Belafonte, Bob Newhart, Carl Reiner, Robert Loggia, Telly Savalas, Brian Dennehy, Ted Knight, Fred Gwynne, James Avery, James Whitmore... and of course Lee Marvin... and MANY more, including women. 🙂 Thanks to them for their service and to all veterans.

What a great way to honor some of our heroes, Arthur❣I thank everyone for serving our country. My grandfather served in the Navy during WWI and my father and uncles in the Army during the Korean conflict. Most recently my cousin served in the Army during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. God bless you all 💖
