Loop turners were a revolution when they first appeared! I remember making my confirmation dress back in 1980 something and turning the loops with a safety pin!!!!

Thanks for another fun vlog. You lucky thing with those beautiful fabrics! I still love the red for your Frocktails! But I do think that fabric Joy has given you would look lovely with no backing as sleeves and backed in the main body of a top or dress. Diana

Great post - I had no idea that Jaycotts didn’t charge postage after £20 - good to know. Also didn’t know about the Prym turners, definitely going to check those out. Love the blue of your bedroom as well, so tranquil

Oh my goodness, that flowery fabric would be gorgeous for Frocktails. I'm seeing it as a skirt with a dark blue underlay.

Thanks a lot for sharing! I agree with you about Jaycott’s, they have been my trusty supplier of patterns for years and I live in Sweden! Such good prices, especially when a certain brand has their sale and very low postage and as you say, a very quick delivery, even to Sweden. I have bought quite a lot of haberdashery and toors from them as well. But unfortunatley brexit has put an end to this 😕 Now I’ll have to pay customs fees plus administration fees to our postalservice and it will not be such a good deal anymore... sad. What an absolutely lovely gift you received! So generous! My suggestion for the last fabric is to make a calf length skirt with a lot of width gathered to a wide waistband, underlined with a navy or dark purple lining fabric. Important to underline before gathering so younget the structure. For a top I suggest a simple tight one with threequarter sleeves and a boat neck, a bit Audrey Hepburn style, and the same colour as the interlining. Bold earrings to match, no necklace.

Loved the fabric. I think the fabric with the see through large stripe would look fab made up in simplicity 8252. It's a dress with an over see through dress.i think it would show the beauty of the fabric.Whatever you decide I know it will look gorgeous.

Awesome video 👍! I love hearing your ideas. Speaking of baby clothes, I'm just starting into baby clothes with the Geranium dress and I'm wondering if you have advice on snaps. I am thinking if getting a Kam set, bit I'm not sure if you can use it for adult snaps as well. Do you have suggestions? Thank you 😊!!

Christy Campbell hello for what it’s worth I have recently ventured into baby clothes which I am loving and have had good results bar the snaps !! I have spoilt garments with snap failures I have spent quite a lot of money in the process trying different brands and fabrics my own experience is jersey brass prym are the best but the 12mm coloured ones are pricey but never fail and don’t stretch out the garment with wear having said that I have gone back to old fashioned sew in poppers never fail and cost effective and I keep my others for special garments

Christy Campbell hi no it was prym I used for the snaps and they do work but I think poorly hit and miss and because of this I decided not Togo with cams thinking they work same principle … that said Christy unless you try you don’t know eh and like so many things it’s all about experience and trial and error I now love the coloured ring type and never have fails with them which ever way you go good luck ✂️xx

Hi Christy. I'm afraid I don't have an awful lot of experience with snaps. A few years a go I bought a kit very similar to this: amzn.to/2TDqgDz which I have used on baby clothes, bibs and also my own clothes a couple of times and have had no problems with it. I am doubtful that you could use the same took for metal snaps, I think (but may be wrong) that it would need a different tool. But I see Julie has been in touch with you about her experience, and sounds like she has worked with snaps more, so I'm glad she was able to make some suggestions for you too! All the best!
