Are they selected pine instead of swamp ash? IMO, pine sounds less-complex than swamp ash.

Only this finish is Pine, pretty sure the other colors are alder.

@@michaeleisenstein8511 Yea, I knew it. Just curious why they changed the swamp ash with pines? Alder and swamp ash was standard-wood for American Fender series. But now they changed it to alder & pine. Although some old Fenders did use pine, IMO swamp ash has great tonalities in it than pine. Pine sounds less-rich to my ears. Like they has been decreased the quality of wood options(?)

@@beefysinglecut It's because ash trees in America are endangered by a species of beetle I believe. Fender is looking to Pine as a substitute for swamp ash.

That is true until you discover a real beauty of Gibson Les Paul and think OK those 3 only, forever! After some time you realise you are nothing without a P90 guitar, maybe LP Junior! Yes, four is perfect! One night after a few glasses of wine you come to realisation that life is meaningless without a good semi hollow guitar! C'mon you know I am right LOL After you try many you start swapping them for better, vintage, rare etc while factory fat-waxed execs are flying around the world in private jest ... like everything else. Long live f-ng Marketing and brainwashing ... Sadly I am one of those "processed" and unable to resist to propaganda. My only consolation is that I have a hobby and I don't watch TV at all thanks to this. Long live Roc'N'Roll

I personally think these pickups sound dead. Maybe it's because I play a American professional telecaster but it's sounded dull.
