A mother, Deanna Berman, shares her story of losing her 21-year-old daughter to fentanyl in this documentary about the dangers of illicit drugs. To use this presentation at high schools or other educational applications, contact Texas Pictures through our website at www.texas-pictures.com.
Naloxone, the active ingredient in 4mg Narcan and higher dose 8mg Kloxxado, along with many generic versions, can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available for free. Google it.

It doesn't matter what environment you're brought up in - fentanyl is indiscriminate. So much of the problem is that young folks trust the person providing them the drugs - "It's from my (mom, dad, grandma, aunt, etc)," and sadly, they believe it. RIP Rachel. And much hope for healing for you Mom.

This is an extremely nuanced topic. There are countless people who are alive today because of anti-psychotic, antidepressant, and anti-anxiety meditations, myself included. This doesn't mean that "big pharma" isn't predatory and it doesn't mean that some doctors don't throw drugs at every complaint. If i died today the doctors would also find 5 different prescriptions in my system but this wouldn't include fentanyl unless i put it there. With all due respect. Sorry for your loss

@@TheDowntown02The comment didn’t say not to be honest-but to be careful with comments. That means, in this case, I would think we are being asked to be reflective before we just go with our gut-reaction. This poor mom had the strength to make this post to help others. Since she hits on some controversial issues, there are those out there who will go with a knee-jerk reaction to express why they disagree with her. The advice is just suggesting that we are kind, and remember the fragility of any family posting on this site. Perhaps don’t type anything you wouldn’t want anyone typing about someone you knew personally who’d gone through this nightmare. Please, life is hard enough. Let’s be kind to one another.

Yeah, I had to stop watching this part-way through because it's not the first of these videos that seems to have an underlying message of "prescription medicines are bad; vaccines are bad," but of the videos on this channel I've seen, this is the most direct about it. I appreciate that there is an issue with overprescribing painkillers, and of young people especially being on perhaps stronger painkillers than they should be, and that people can react badly to vaccines in rare cases, but if this ( "prescription medicines are bad; vaccines are bad") is the narrative that the channel is pushing, then they're not going to be taken seriously by most medical staff or government officials in their fight against fentanyl. I really feel for Rachel's mother and the loved ones of every person this drug has killed, but this isn't the way to win it.

Some meds are a blessing and some can start you down the road to addiction I've been there. So, is she saying her daughter got addicted to painkillers because she got a Covid vaccine? Because from what she’s saying, her daughter had celiac and rheumatoid arthritis PRIOR to getting vaccinated and that was with her being on the special organic farm diet you had her on…. I feel like the true issue at hand is not talked about in this video and I’m terribly sorry for this family‘s loss, but it sounds like this poor young lady was very unsettled-which WILL cause substance use /abuse. It seems like there is a very political agenda being pushed in this message versus the real issue. In my very humble opinion.. why do I know? I'm so sorry for her loss. My question is, what did the guy from Connecticut say to the police? He was the last one to be with her. The mom constantly says she doesn't know where the Fentanyl came from, but the last guy that was there knows a lot I'm sure. I mean his daughter drove 5 or so hours to be there, and die there. I'm so curious to know about what that guy said to police.

He was obviously a drug dealer. She didn’t drive five hours because she wanted to help him because he had been in a car accident.

So sorry for your loss of Rachel 💔 You're right that kids these days can't experiment and make bad decisions like we did. Scary times and so many poisons out there. Way too many prescription drugs given to our young people along with experimental remedies. Your heart stone says it all. Thank you. ❤🙏

I'm very sorry for your loss Strauss' family 💔😢🙏 Thank you for sharing Rachel's story. 💖🌹 Medicine is designed to help the symptoms and not the root of the problem that in turn keeps us on them forever, keeping the pharmaceutical companies racking in money! 😠 As for fentanyl that's being pushed to kill people....period!

Im sorry its a known fact that medicine is palliative in general if someone has high blood pressure then they take medication to keep it within normal limits if they stop then the high blood pressure returns. Fentanyl is only being pushed by the drug pushers who do not care about what happens to ppl. And fentanyl is only being consumed illicitly by ppl who do not want to cope with life intentionally or unintentionally.

Rachel was also a heart broken young adult. My heart goes out for all children, for life, as it is, has become very trying for them. I can't even imagine the pain of her mother 🥰🙏🥰🙏

Praying with you Mother. Please understand she loved you just as much as you loved her. As children we don't always listen when we need to but a Mother's love is able to bring us back to our senses after our trials have beaten us down. The heart stone is beautiful! I hope it continues to comfort you. Your purpose is to keep showing concern for those who can't quite figure life out for themselves. Your skills are needed in a world of people dependent on modern medicine. Remember you're never alone. I hope you continue to share your story to help others. It was beautiful how you expressed your thoughts about Rachel.

Agreed! It sounds to me that her daughter was in a relationship with someone using or herself experimenting because no doctor in this current state of opioid awareness prescribed her daughter fentanyl thats a fact! If she was prescribed it, it was in the hospital and NOT for RA legal fentanyl does not come in pill form.

Living in chronic pain is tough. I’ve made mistakes trying to get relief as well, when in truth.. we need to be gentle with ourselves and give it time to pass. Even the sun can trigger autoimmune flares. It’s difficult and we can feel alone, unheard, & isolated. Sometimes, I just need a reminder that I have support from my loved ones and they will assist when needed. I’ve also felt judged. I wish healing for this family and hope anyone suffering from chronic pain feels ok to reach out to loved ones for support. 💕

I’m so sorry for the loss of yr beautiful daughter; Rachel may she be resting in peace. Drugs are a scourge on all of society worldwide, no matter how hard as a parent one tries to educate a child (regardless of age), they will often do the exact opposite. Let the hurt go, give it to God & know you’re doing good work by telling Rachel’s story. Best wishes from Adelaide; South Australia🦘🐨🇦🇺💐

The problem I have with prescriptions is we will see patients (particularly young women), get on one Rx. Then all of a sudden they have other symptoms (side effects), and that requires more prescriptions, and it snow balls. We started out with high functioning healthy young women with some stress or anxiety from college, who within 2 years are unemployed at home and completely unrecognizable. The medicalization of normal products of the human condition have helped fuel this fentanyl pandemic. The American obsession with throwing a prescription at every problem is tragic for the very people who we are intending to help.
