In the many murder videos I've watched, where the victim was killed in the house, I always hear that they don't lock their doors. I don't really know how safe towns/cities in the US are, but I'd say it would be natural to lock one's door. It's a house, not a museum. You wouldn't want people walking in and out of your house freely, would you? An unlocked door is an invitation.

There are 12 common food allergens and onions are not among them. But you are right that cross-contamination in food prep can ben dangerous especially items like peanut that takes minute amounts of the allergen to induce an allergic reaction.

Gerry seemed like a lovely guy & clearly did his best to do the right thing as seen that he wanted to stay with her while she was pregnant (which is a terrible reason to marry someone but he obviously wanted to raise his child as a family). it’s heartbreaking that his life ended like it did, he deserved so much better than that. i can only hope Jill & her idiot fiancé Michael are having a horrible time in prison, she should have gotten the death penalty in my opinion. i’m so sad for the other husband she likely murdered, hopefully his loved ones feel he got some form of justice due to her conviction on Gerry’s murder

I have done some of this in my career also. I LOVE a “good bust.” You have to have a good degree of skepticism and take each item as if it is fraudulent. I have observed someone who used the General Ledgers to move around and try to cover their wrong doing. I do not have a degree, but it was sometimes sad when I had to reveal who the person was.

Cook could have really hurt someone. As a chef I've had plenty of times where a customer has had a food allergy and we'd have to change out the spatula*, knives, cutting boards, And just be super careful not to mix anything up. By the way,there is a motive didn't mentioned in this report that gerry after he investigated about coil and discoverd her deception had filed fraud suits against her and that was the main reason for annulled marriage. Now coit still serving her life sentence and backus also in addition for 48 years. I feel sad for her son who had obliged the cruel truth that his mother is a pure evil and he can't defend her but he took the right action towards his sentiments as a human. Honestly kind of impressive cover up. No DNA, fingerprints or whatsoever. Just the motive that lead to them to crack down on her. Although I'm not exactly sure how the food evidence holds up in court. A lot of things could have potatoes in them.
