Previously, the party continued carrying out side quests that became available in Chapter 12. In Costa del Sol, they began the discovery "The Pirate King's Treasure". This took them around the Meridian Ocean to slay the Pirate King's lackeys and acquire the Pirate's Relics from the Pirate King's Grottos. In the end, they transmuted the Corsair's Compass. Not only is this an accessory, but it also points out the locations of treasures while the party is exploring the Meridian Ocean. Cloud finished up by defeating Wize 3.0 Ver. 2.0 in a game of Queen's Blood, allowing him to reach Queen's Blood Rank 8: Blood Tactician. Now, he will go challenge Rank 8's Keeper of the Cruor, Regina in Gongaga, and then he will challenge Costa del Sol's QB players. Later, the party will take care of a couple of Level 2 Regions challenges in the Combat Simulator.

Detailed description: 0:00 - Game Load 0:12 - Corel Prison The party resumes in Corel Prison in the Dustbowl. The main scenario "The Keystone's Whereabouts" is in progress. The party talks to the Queen's Blood card vendor, the Card Collector (0:54). They spend 500 gil on the newly available QB Booster Pack: Carnival of Carnage. It contains the following cards: No. 072: Black Bat, No. 075: Adjudicator, and No. 076: Yin & Yang. Afterwards, the party warps to the village of Gongaga destination in the Gongaga Region. 1:30 - Gongaga In the Gongaga Saloon in the Felicia Commons area, the party talks to Regina (2:10). She does not sound too enthusiastic, but Cloud challenges her to a game. He checks over his deck and available cards. So many options. Cloud cancels out and saves. Then, he talks to Regina again (4:20) and challenges her for real. 4:25 - Queen's Blood - Regina Cloud plays a game of Queen's blood against Regina. After obstructing much of the board, Cloud wins the match (6:39). For defeating Regina, he earns the No. 053: Maloceros card. Another curious cutscene with Lidrehl takes place after the game (6:55). Very interesting! 9:28 - Gongaga Another scene with Regina ensues. For defeating 24 Queen's Blood players, including Regina, Cloud reaches Queen's Blood Rank 9: Blood Marquis. Chadley calls Cloud afterwards (10:08). It seems a "friendly specter" is waiting to play a game of Queen's Blood against Cloud at the Ghost Hotel in the Gold Saucer. One more reason to go to the Saucer. The party warps to the Costa del Sol destination in the Corel Region. 10:55 - Costa del Sol The party uses the changing booth to change into their casual wear (11:19). Since the Johnny clones are no more, the party can now talk to Jenny near the town entrance for their teleportation needs (11:39). A brief event takes place when the party talks to her. They warp to the Costa Beach in the northeast of town. The party visits the Materia Vendor (12:46). I was hoping he would have Revival Materia available, but such is not the case. At the Costa del Sol Resort hotel in the north, the party talks to Maahir the boxer after saving (13:42). Cloud challenges him to Queen's Blood. 14:09 - Queen's Blood - Maahir After checking his deck, Cloud starts the game against Maahir (14:49). Cloud wins on the first try (17:44). For defeating Maahir, he earns a No. 079: 2-C SOLDIER Operator card. 18:04 - Costa del Sol Maahir speaks a little bit after the match. At the Queen's Blood Vendor near the Costa Port, the party talks to Riana after saving (19:31). Cloud challenges her to Queen's Blood. 19:59 - Queen's Blood - Riana After checking his deck, Cloud starts the game against Riana (20:26). She may look like a princess, but she has a few frogs in her deck. Cloud does not win in the first attempt. Cloud retries and plays a second game against Riana (23:39). This time, Cloud wins (26:26). For defeating Riana, he earns a No. 077: Diabolic Variant card. 26:45 - Costa del Sol There is some dialogue after Cloud defeats Riana. The party talks to the Amusement Attendant at the Card Carnival (27:40). Some new challenges have been unlocked here. There are Collection Challenges that have cards based on the protagonists available as prizes. Intriguing. At the Bar del Sol, the party talks to Dokaccha after saving (29:13). Cloud challenges him to a Queen's Blood game. 29:47 - Queen's Blood - Dokaccha After reviewing his deck, Cloud starts the match against Dokaccha (30:09). Cloud wins on the first try (33:04). For defeating Dokaccha, he earns a No. 074: Rictus card. 33:22 - Costa del Sol There is some dialogue after Cloud defeats Dokaccha. The party warps to the Scrapyard Prison Cell destination in Southern Corel. 34:17 - Corel Region - Southern Corel The party uses the Vending Machine outside the Scrapyard Prison Cell (34:29). They buy two orbs of Revival Materia for 3,000 gil apiece. The party warps back to the Costa del Sol destination in Northern Corel. 34:53 - Costa del Sol The party uses the changing booth to change to their casual clothes (35:06). Aerith replaces her Enervation Materia with a new orb of Revival Materia. Barret transfers his Petrify Materia to Yuffie and equips a new orb of Revival Materia. The party saves. Barret links his Magnify Materia with his Binding Materia. The party talks to Chadley (36:42). They boot up the ol' Combat Simulator. 37:06 - Combat Simulator - Regions "Corel Region Intel: Level 2" under Regions is not available yet. There are three more Corel Region enemy types that the party must register beforehand. Under Regions, the party undertakes the combat trial "Gongaga Region Intel: Level 2" (37:13). The requirement is to battle 20 enemy types in the Gongaga Region. This trial is pretty tricky. The party chooses a lineup of Cloud, Aerith, and Barret. In Round 1, the party battles 2 Chimera Mimics. Nothing too hard. In Round 2, the party battles 2 Death Claws and 2 Necrotic Entities. This group can be dangerous, what with the Death Claws' lethal Reaper Claws ability. It helps to battle them one at a time and lock down the riffraff with Sleep. In Round 3, the party battles a Landworm and a Duneworm. These are also dangerous with their ability to swallow party members. In Round 4, the party battles 2 Silver Chimeras. Hm, I thought this was supposed to be Gongaga Region Intel. In Round 5, the party battles a Modded Sweeper and a White Terror. The White Terror is susceptible to Sleep, so the party can send it to dreamland while they take out the Modded Sweeper. The party defeats all the enemies (49:02). For completing "Gongaga Region Intel: Level 2", they earn a Level 3 orb of HP Up Materia. The party exits the Combat Simulator. 49:30 - Costa del Sol Au contraire, Chadley; that latest trial was pretty challenging. After saving, the party talks to Chadley again (49:48). They boot up the Combat Simulator once more. 50:01 - Combat Simulator - Regions Under Regions, the party undertakes the combat trial "Cosmo Canyon Region Intel: Level 2" (50:06). The requirement is to battle 22 enemy types in the Cosmo Canyon Region. The party chooses a lineup of Cloud, Aerith, and Barret. In Round 1, the party battles an Irasceros. Though weak to lightning, this bull-headed fiend swaps between immunity to physical attacks and immunity to magic attacks. It can use Concentrate to restore its stagger gauge, but Concentrate can be interrupted with powerful attacks. In Round 2, the party battles a Gigantuar. Quite a prickly character. In Round 3, the party battles a Mystic Dragon. In Round 4, the party battles a White Mousse and 2 Amalgams. The Amalgams can resurrect themselves after being defeated, but burning them with fire-elemental damage will prevent this. The White Mousse can devour a party member for a time. Hitting it with elemental damage will pressure it, but it will also make it resistant to the element it was hit with. In Round 5, the party battles a Reapertail. The Reapertail is weak to ice-elemental damage. Enough ice-elemental magic damage will pressure it. Apparently, following up with fire leaves it open to attack. It becomes more susceptible to physical attacks while pressured. Cloud reaches level 48 and earns 5 SP. The party defeats all the enemies (1:01:45). For completing "Cosmo Canyon Region Intel: Level 2", they earn a Level 3 orb of MP Up Materia. There is another combat trial available right now, but the party will suffer through it later. Though that Level 2 orb of Revival Materia sounds appealing. 1:02:12 - Costa del Sol The party saves. Next time, they will return to the Gold Saucer to continue the story and seek the Keystone.
