Right when I thought I know how to choke...
@rhidiandavies19915 жыл бұрын
This is basically how I've started all my back attacks for ages but I appreciated the little details like becoming more diagonal by bringing the bottom leg across the waist. Should probably have mentioned that the benefit of falling to the under hook side is that you can transition into sankaku and/or juji gatame if you loose, or struggle to finish, the choke.

This is super interesting! In my much more limited experience people have always said to try and lean and fall to the choking arm side. I guess this is because you don't want to let them get their head on the mat and begin slipping out, but the way that Firas does it is kind of slip his leg and shift over to the side where his head is hugging which seems to do the same thing. I am going to try doing it this way!

I think I can speak for some people when I say that the snapping of the fingers really bring back the focus to us people who have trouble focusing on things such as this. I always dream away during my coach's way of explaining a technique but by Coach Zahabi simply snapping his fingers he brings his focus right back. Would love to train at his gym.
