tbf the current CLA is still a very competitive car, good enough technology, amazing engine and transmission and they are actually fairly reliable, feels quite luxury, nice overall modern mercedes design and ok price, so I'm not feeling in need too much of a rush for this new one to come out

Yes, it will...the Range is 750km...they already reached a worldrecord with it...3770km in 24h and an average speed of 155km/h...including the charging stops!!!...they drove 210km/h. They charged it for best loading speed from 5 to 50% in 8mins!!! The even earlier prototype of the CLA Tech...the EQXX...achieved 8kwh/100km driving 120km/h...they drove from Stuttgart to Silverstone...but the Battery was not empty...means they drove around Silverstone a little bit to empty it...1200km range using 100kwh Battery in this case. Seems they are able to transport a lot of this tech into the new MMA Platform...which is meant to be at 12kwh/100km.

Been saying for years that EVs need an overdrive gear and finally!! Get that mainstream and efficiency will be through the roof across the board. If that's the only thing that remains from concept to production allong with the overall design, it will have seriously moved the market on.

They are drawing a lot on the EQXX with this one, so I’d expect it to be very efficient in the 60-80mph range, and it sounds like it charge at Taycan like rates as well. Could be an excellent cross-continent cruiser

I was hoping that the _"child detection facility"_ would work like this. When you left your car unattended and your car noticed some _"spotty young oik"_ loitering near your car, the bonnet would secretively open and a fist would appear. Oh don't you worry, these creases will not make into production, they will reduce them and slap glass on top of it (aerodynamics and to avoid dirt n snow piling up) so you get another big dull teardrop, just like all their current models.

When I first looked at the thumbnail picture in this video I thought it's another AI generated image. So glad to know this is a real thing, that is as amazing as your presentation. I wish all car reviewers however stop comparing german electric cars to Tesla because to me there's nothing to compare really. A fun preview thank you. Mercedes get so much right with their advanced engineering. I also like a coupe format. What kills Mercedes for me is their present interior UI/UX which is horrible, especially if they go back to the iPad on the centre console. One thing to ask yourself is will all that ambient lighting and capacitive nonsense work so well after five years of heavy use. If after that time a few bits of the ambient lighting blink at you from time to time it will be a bit annoying and might be hard to turn off. And then there will be the price.

I saw a video a few days ago of the production version of this car. It was in camouflage and the interior dash was covered. If they keep the overall shape of the car and something very close to the lights and light bar, it will be a hit! Obviously price will have yo be competitive with the model 3. Last thing is HP. I think the base needs to be at least 300 HP and then get higher with the AMG models.

Except if the price difference is too big, that's the biggest problem of the premium in 2024 and onwards: justify their gargantuous pricing now that buyers can shop a Model 3/Y, a Xpeng G6/9 or a BYD Sealion07 for half the price. It was much easier for the premium price to be justified in the ICE era. I paid it myself several times and never regretted it. Would not do it anymore in current market.

5:16 so... 1. massive screen that's a fingerprint/biohazard magnet 2. grilles everywhere to make it just that much more difficult to keep clean 3. reflective surfaces everywhere with a massive glass roof for extra glare and greenhouse feel 4. some gaudy LED front grille akin to what bmw is doing atm 5. absolutely no physical controls bar the indicator stalk and hazard light button great.
