never done baffle tube welding but it can be done as a bike i had last year had it done. 2000 grit is what you finish with not start with on the plastics. start with 300,450,600,800,1000 then 2000. keep going it’s looking alright. you get annoyed every time you spend a buck , which is why bike restos are a hobby for most.

Outstanding job Joe, I'm really happy with how it turned out. Restoring an older bike is about as easy as finding parts for one. It's a shame about the silencer, maybe a used aftermarket fmf, answer racing or Bill's pipes will pop up somewhere it would be cheaper than finding or fixing the original.

@Exculation4 жыл бұрын
Exactly what I was thinking lol, either riding with choke on, spark plug fouled or broken/cracked reeds because that thing sounds like it’s getting too much fuel, which can be caused by choke on, fouled plug not giving good spark under compression or damaged reeds causing air loss in combustion therefore too much fuel to burn. One way or another that was running rich in the video bro
@Exculation4 жыл бұрын
Simple things to check really, new plug and new reeds or flip them over if not cracked or broken, and don’t ride with choke open you will foul the plug, if internally fouled you can’t clean them, not trying to tell you how to do things just good advice.

Killer build glade its finished. But man you really need to tune it. It needs opened up on the big end. Its needs more fuel. Notice how itll rev half throttle. An then cut out. Depending on weather an humidity. You have to adjust the air fuel ratio. An altitude has a huge part in tunning.

Cutting the silencer on a 2-stroke will often give a small boost in low-end, but it might take away more top-end then you gain in the bottom. There's a balance. Most folks cut about 1 1/2" off the end. You might need to re-jet slightly, and it will likely be slightly louder.

Tyler Grimes-Whited It's not the pipe dummy. Go find a bike and remove the silencer, it won't do shit. The silencer on a 2 stroke can change the power curve a tiny bit depending on how long or short it is. In this case the bike is running rich, which was nothing to do with the silencer not being packed. Your clearly new to 2 strokes or that 12 years is really 12 months.
