lee zimby - "This guy was amazing"? Of course, but ALL FOUR wrote songs and the other band members ALL wrote #1 hits for Queen. Freddy himself said Queen was a group of four and disliked being called the leader. All four were fabulous, creative musicians and songwriters. Roger Taylor (drums and falsetto harmonies) and Brian May (PhD in astrophysics and amazing guitarist) also had beautiful voices and they were the amazing harmonies and instrumentals that made Queen instantly recognizable. Both wrote great songs. The fourth member, John Deacon, the bassist and electrical engineer, also played piano and guitar and wrote some of their best songs but was shy and didn't like to sing although he did on stage sometimes. He also created special amps used by the band. I'm sure you would recognize his most famous bass line in "Under Pressure" which was stolen by Vanilla Ice (who they sued) and other songs he wrote for Freddie. All of his bass lines were amazing. You must listen to his bass (Millionaire's Waltz - COMPLEX!). The group individually and together were responsible for writing many of the hits that Freddie sang. THEY WERE A GROUP. All of them acknowledged that Freddie was the flamboyant and amazing front man but please don't underestimate the other three. Freddie always disliked it when the others weren't acknowledged. They created many of the songs he sang. Glad you have discovered Queen. I'm OLD and have been a fan from Day One. Cheers from a fellow Canuck. :)

People like the music that they like. The idea of someone telling you what is right or wrong music for you to listen or, teasing you about what you like to listen to is silly. I have found songs in every type of music that I like, it doesn't matter what "type" of music it is, I like the individual song or I do not like it. It would be boring as all get out to have to listen to only one type of music for all my life. Listen to what you like, tell other people to keep quite about if they think it is good or not, so you can listen to your music!

As I've said before, Queen was my first live concert at age 14 at The Forum in LA. Queen had an incredible way of engaging the audience on many of their songs and letting us join in and this was one of the songs, when they get to that drum beat and chant "find ...me..somebody to love!" was where the audience got to be the voice. It was SO FUN! Please, if you haven't yet, watch a live concert version of "Radio GaGa"...esp the Live Aide version from 1985. Even though it's more of a POP song than a ROCK song, the audiences part in the song gives me goosebumps and makes me want to be there again so much! Again....thank you for your energetic and fun reactions to beloved music to me!

Your openess and reaction to some of the music you approach as a new listener is exhilerating. Through you I too am again hearing them for the first time. Thanks for letting me hang out with you for this experience. Can't wait to sample your "stuff". I'm sure we would all like to know why you think it's dope and what parts of the song stand out for you. A more well thought out review is preferable to just a nodding head and "it's dope" after every review. Keep up the good work. Brian May and his father made that red guitar he's playing. Everything but the hardware And some of its modified. The pickup he Unwound and rewound backwards for effect. Joey, Hey man...there is no doubt in anyone's mind that Freddie Mercury was by far one of the greatest entertainers EVER!!! His vocal pitch hits 4 octives, no one besides Aretha has ever hit these octives. Listen to Live from Wembley Stadium " Radio Ga Ga" now you want to see someone who can get audience participation??? Then watch that video and you will see a master of his craft right there. Freddie was a trailblazer when it came to performing and getting 100,000 ppl participating along with him. I'm telling you Joey you never hear or see anything like it again. EVER!! Serious, you will be blown away. Also check out You're my Best Friend., yet another masterpiece by Freddie and Queen.

This song came out as a single when I was a sophomore in high school. I'm 57 years old and I still have original issue of the single I bought back then. I listen to queen everyday on my way to work and on my way home. I get some strange looks sometimes because some people have told me they don't expect to hear this music being BLASTED from a Dodge Challenger, but they have been my favorite band since I first heard them in 1972 and still are. I have hundreds of songs and versions of their songs. I'm glad you are reviewing these videos. It's so great to see someone that hears them for the first time enjoy them as much as you do. The night heard that Freddie died I knew that music would never be the same. They are also one of the most educated bands in history. Brian May (lead guitar) is now a professor with a BSc and Ph.D. in astrophysics from Imperial College in London, John Deacon (Bass) has the equivalent of a MS in electronic engineering, Roger Taylor (Drums) was a dental school student when the band made it big, and Freddie graduated from Isleworth Polytechnic College and Ealing Art College. My wife, and both of our sons (aged 31 and 21) know that they are going to hear Queen if they go anywhere in my car with me. They actually really like the music and listened when i told them about the education of the band. My oldest son now has his Doctorate in Law, and my youngest is working on his Ph.D. in A.I. I can't say enough about how their music influenced my own life. I appreciate what ou are doing by reviewing the videos, and I have subscribed. Keep up the good work!
