Appreciate your love for both Stevie, and Fleetwood Mac!! My favorite Stevie solo tune has long been, "Rooms on Fire!" 💕

IIRC, I saw a clip many years ago with Stevie telling how the song came about: while driving with somebody, Prince's Little Red Corvette came on the radio; they both started creating some kind of counterpoint line to it. They turned it into a song, and while recording, Stevie called up Prince, I guess to kinda get an unofficial blessing? He was like "where are you recording? I'll come by." Prince shows up, lays down the octave synth line in the chorus, and heads on out :)

Hi Tasha, Tom Petty wrote a song called the insider. Stevie wanted to record the song, and Tom originally agreed, but then changed his mind. They sang the song together several times in concert. It's an incredible collaboration.

Yes! I totally agree with you. It seems that most folks only know Stop Dragging My Heart Around by Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks, but for me Insider is the most beautiful collaboration from them.

Stevie is the best, she never disappoints. Was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame twice once by herself other with Flt Mac. I highly suggest checking out Rhiannon on the Midnight Special in 76, she was on 🔥🔥🔥🔥. That's the best video.

I was raised in Ayrshire Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. In the late 1960's my cousins and I would go to Glasgow to see live music. I saw the original Peter Green Fleetwood Mac in '68 or '69. A few years later and I am living in Seattle and I saw the Buckingham/Nicks version. Christine was there both times.

Have you heard Rhiannon on Midnight Special in 76? She was on 🔥🔥🔥🔥. I'm a huge fan of her still performing at 74 or so. Still attracting big audiences.

She met Lindsey when they both started college. They broke up several times after joining Mac. But, they were done for good before she branched into solo work (while still touring with Mac). Stevie has said that the love of her life was Joe Walsh of The Eagles. This song is more about him. But, she's such a brilliant writer that although every song is about real people and real situations they're mixed together in ways that can apply to everyone. She's a legend. There will never be another Stevie.

If you haven't heard of "Gold" by John Stewart ..... it's written and performed by Fleetwood Mac for their freind, John, with Stevie as co-singer. Song was a hit.

You need to read the story of those times Tasha. Stevie was trying to survive the Disco era as an old style California country rocker. That's your dance vibe. As for relationships, she was only married for less than a year, but she had a long term relationship with The Eagles, being hooked up with both Don Henley and Joe Walsh for over 6 years total. Part of that Laurel Canyon music experience.

Girl, she IS talking about him. Every breakup song she has written, whether it was originally inspired by a different man, ended up morphing into or containing pieces of her eternal angst over Lindsey. She has said this in so many interviews. A great example is Beautiful Child. Not inspired by Lindsey, but when sung live during their Say You Will tour (a performance you MUST react to), she added to the ending, and has admitted she thinks of Lindsey when performing it. Also, in 2015-ish she did an overdub of a preview to a new Katy Perry song titled, "The One That Got Away". She said in an interview that the song and video affected her so strongly and reminded her of her breakup with Lindsey. The weird thing, they broke up so many times, they both declare never to have experienced closure. Also a must reaction, the live accoustic performances of Say Goodbye and Never Going Back Again. They were taped in 2003 during their Say You Will tour, but released for a Lindsey Buckingham Soundstage event in 2005. Both performances, so moving, you feel as if you are eavesdropping on an incredibly intimate and heartbreaking moment. They are in front of an audience, but it is as if they are the only two people in the room. It has the intensity of Landslide or Silver Springs live from the Dance, but on a private, personal, gentle level. The chemistry, almost overcomes you.❤

I think this was all Prince, Stevie said she just came in and sung it. Prince wrote it, directed it and produced it.

No. Stevie wrote it, but it was inspired by a Prince song (Little Red Corvette). She didn't want to record it without Prince's blessing, given the similarities, so he came over, listened to it, added a synthesizef line... and left. They split the royalties 50/50.

She fell in love with Mic Fleetwood who was married. So she left Lindsay to have an affair with Mic. When Mic decided he was not going to leave his wife, he broke her heart. All these dynamics and emotions made them a great band. They all bore their souls for us. Her song Beautiful Beast for Mic is awesome! Peace

Stevie wrote the lyrics along to Prince’s Little Red Corvette. It is roughly the same beat and chords, and Stevie asked Prince to come in and play keyboards on it and got his blessing to move forward. So inspired by Prince, written by Stevie; I think they split the royalties. :-)

The man she married was Kim Anderson. It was a very brief marriage. She wrote this song during their “honeymoon.” Check out Oprah’s Masterclass on Stevie and she explains how the marriage happened and why it ended so quickly.
