What's good about your stretch - in comparison to other films - is that you are giving a time for each position. I find it awkward that in other videos people change positions so fast that I can't really indulge myself into them. Secondly you all the time remind to be gentle to yourself. I had once spine injury while doing yoga because I was pushing it too much. Thirdly the positions you propose are sometimes hard but doable which is another advantage of your work. So thanks a lot. You're doing a good job here! Regards from Kabul in Afghanistan.

I’m a web developer for a living and sit on a desk all day. Its also been 3 years since I’ve done any heavy lifting and pretty much lost all muscle I’ve since gained. This flexibility stretch for upper body and the leg stretches from the other video has given me one of the best workouts I’ve had in a long time. Thanks John!

Great video! Thank you for showing streches that people can actually do. Somtimes I watch trainers show streches that are impossible for me simply because I'm to tight and they don't show any other version and simply yes "you gotta be able to do that" So thanks so much!

Hi guys. I have mild hyper mobility syndrome and don't feel the stretch is it still worth me doing?
@mop40934 жыл бұрын
flexibility is the max length of stretch, mobility is how far your brain thinks it can stretch, so even if you feel nothing, this can still be good after a workout
@kayhardy-bayley4 жыл бұрын
@@mop4093 That's not how hypermobility works. I can injure myself through overstretching, unfortunately, I can't tell when I'm doing that because to me it doesn't hurt. HM is a problem with the joints and ligaments, not muscles, so although my body will let me stretch super far and bend where i shouldn't, my body can be damaged in the process. (E.g. when I walk or run I have to be careful that my knee joints don't bend backwards as I can and do regularly hurt myself if not paying attention.)
@mop40934 жыл бұрын
@@kayhardy-bayley u can bend that far since your brain dosent know whats the limit of flexibility, it uses pain to signal it from going further which is not working due to your condition. what your focus should be to strengthen the muscles supporting the joints and to increase the length of the muscles. when creating a workout routine, stay aware of body fat %, kinesthetic, reflex , balance, agility, endurance, strength, flexibility and u can forget about mobility due to your condition.

What movements would you recommend to fix shoulder clicking/pain when doing military press or shoulder raises?
@robertmceneaney68546 жыл бұрын
Try and release off your anterior(chest and anterior delts) then look at your humeral-scapular rhythm, Scapular position when doing it and see if you've any winging etc. I find a lot of the time i get the clicking and pain when Im tight at the front and dont really focus on my Scapula movement ( I find retracting them to be beneficial when shoulder pressing )
@alisonturner93536 жыл бұрын
Love this. My only complaint is that dark clothes, dark mat and dark floor make it difficult to see the finer detail when you're laying on a mat a few feet away. I keep having to stop and get up to look at the placement of feet, etc
@superstonkin6 жыл бұрын
Would you do this before or after a workout? Really appreciate the content guys!

I know Im 3 years late, but do it after a workout. Pre workout u should be doing upper body stretches that are in some type of movement
