Brother, I can not express enough how much respect and admiration I have for you and what your doing! No complaining and whining about all the things you can’t do, you just get it done! I know your family realizes what a real man you are and they have to be so proud to call you father, and husband! Watching you go through the struggles of just maintaining the basic necessities of life should make anyone think twice about the obstacles in there life being too challenging. Keep plugging away brother, your a true inspiration to others! Look forward to the next video 🇺🇸. Also let me give major props to you wife and children, I know it’s a team effort keeping thing together, I didn’t want to glaze over their incredible strengths as well. Huge applause to the entire family!!

You are no doubt dealing with challenges that would crumble the average team, but you definitely don’t have an average team, your a team of the most incredible hard working family I watch on KZbin for sure, I watch some channels and they complain about what ever it is that are going through, and I want to comment with a link to your channel and say you think you have struggles??…..Lol but I either leave a positive moment or nothing at all. There are way to many opinionated people out there that know it all….lol. Thanks for the reply as always and look forced to you next video, stay safe and stay warm 🇺🇸

The past couple days I've been hoping y'all are OK since no videos. Then excited to see one. Then mortified to see what you've been dealing with. I pray that when the weather is good enough (& you might have the resources or someone can help) a bridge over the creek or a culvert might happen. Watching you navigate that was horrific. The only reason I could actually watch was ... you posted the video & I knew you made it OK (for now). Your determination is out of this world. I wish I had any kind of resource that could help. Sending love & prayers.
@UncaDave2 жыл бұрын
Definitely need a bridge over all that or a culvert that takes that water somewhere. If they are going to stay there these problems need resolution somehow. I know all of us worry for this family if any of the kids or Mom and Dad need emergency care. Even clear a helo pad area and give the GPS coordinates to the local hospital if they have a Medical-vac helicopter. It’s getting crazy out there with that weather.

Glad to see you're still hanging in there. I remember those days when I lived in Montana. Some days it was just hunker down next to the fire and just hibernate for a couple days waiting for things to freeze solid. Stay double prepared all the time and I'm sure you will be fine. An old timer told me once that the key to success was NEVER rush it. Think it through, plan, and prepare. And really, I would rather be out there with you than living in the city even with the road the way it is.

We were just up your way (Paradise) a couple weeks back and could not get to our off grid cabin either. The Raptor only made it a few feet onto the two track before it sunk thru the snowmobile trails. Came to the realization that we will have to buy sleds next year to shuttle us from preacher lake road public parking lot to the cabin, which is what the previous owner told us they did for the last 40 years. Asked a local with a plow if he’d try to open it up and he said no, mainly because the seasonal roads get to hard-packed with snowmobilers. Admire your grit and determination, your family is awesome!
@9252LIFE2 жыл бұрын
We really need a couple new snowmobiles that are dependable as we bought two junkers that break just by looking at em!

Glad you and your family are safe. I've lived in the UP near Lake Superior for 60-plus years, born and raised. 9 months of snow and cold, 3 months of growing season outdoors, and months of mosquitoes, no-see-ums, deer flies, and fish flies. Number one survival tool is pre-planning for the winter. Do it 12 months of the year. Cut wood, stack wood, cover wood, and burn wood. Enough supplies on site. Lots of hay and feed for animals. Fuel to last the winter. Well-insulated houses. Reliable snowmobiles and ATVs. Good clothes suitable for the north country. You can't be caught unprepared for any situation. Bottom line is plannning. Sorry to hear about your deal with the snowmobiles and also your property, water, etc., but this is real life in the 906. It's not an easy life.
@9252LIFE2 жыл бұрын
I hear you. It’s not easy at all! It had been very hard and has brought many hard lessons that we needed. And the fresh air out here in the dead of winter is absolutely awesome!

Looks like you might need a team of horses & a buckboard. Kids would love that 😊. A berm along the creek where it's prone to overflow could be another project later this year.
@sunnyqzado34552 жыл бұрын
ya a berm along the trail and maybe an extra culvert pipe at where its supposed to cross the trail. hard to get a good feel of the situation from those limited vids in the dark. 🤔😏

Great to see you guys back!! So sorry about your road issue. My husband was saying, "We should drive up there and help them out!" You could definitely use a culvert and that portion of the road built up. Still praying for endurance and safety through this winter for you and your awesome family! Praying you are able to purchase a wood stove soon so you won't have the major expense of diesel. Two KZbin Channels which may be an encouragement are Boss of the Swamp and Doug and Stacie. Boss of the Swamp has a situation like yours when it comes to winter snow. They have it mastered on how to travel through their heavily snowed mountain. He also has a wonderful video on his off grid refrigeration!!! They heat their cabin with a wood fired kitchen stove. Doug and Stacie have a very good video on rain water catchment which may help you out tremendously with the lack of a well. They also heat their cabin with a wood fired kitchen stove. We pray you all have a very blessed day! Looking forward to those future videos!
@9252LIFE2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Victoria. We have a plan to fix all these problems. Stay tuned for that. Also we took the woodstove out this fall to save time without having to mess with firewood this winter. Sometimes money is cheaper than time. I have heard of those KZbin channels and every now and then I will get a chance to watch a few videos but usually just stick to my favorites like Gridlessness, Good Simple Living, Bushradical, and Girl In The Woods. Anyway take care and stay warm. Nice hearing from you.

Every time I watch one of your videos I feel shame about the way I whine and complain when things in my life don't go as planned. You are truly an inspiration and example of what a person can accomplish and how to handle hardships. You're making myself and others better people by sharing your life with us. Thank you Chad and God bless you and your family.

So...I am watching you try to drive through high icy waters and feeling really bad and saying OMG and trying to pick my jaw off the floor. Then, lo and behold, you move the camera to give us a better view. LOL, that's our Chad for ya. Always thinking of us first. I was impressed when you walked over the truck and got into the drivers side. ha It that would have been me, I would have been soaking wet.

Way awesome to see you all once again, albeit tired your looking good.😉 Did I see a pair of snowshoes in there somewhere? They can be work the first few times you break trail back and forth, but once it's packed down there nice to have for backups. Essentially if you go around the road and cut a winter walking trail up out of the water. Good luck, stay warm, you'll make it!!! 👍🏼🙏👍🏼

No snowshoes. Need them some day

Hoping you find a way. My brother & I are fighting through this -30F crap too. We are going through a ton of firewood. Vehicles, tractors & equipment all seem to break at the worst time. We are always looking for the best way to get the job done, without straying away from the final goal. Hopefully your new cabin/home goes together quickly & you find a great path to it. Also, I hope you find water. Good luck & God bless.

Thank you. And wow -30! We hits -24 a couple weeks ago and man that was frosty! 😂 Yes things tend to break much easier in the winter

@@9252LIFE Hope all is well. Was thinking about you all. I made it to work on Friday, during a half a block visibility blizzard. My friends adult daughter spent 5 hours in the ditch. Her work commute is 45 miles. She had good visibility, but poor roads. Just to hear from you all soon.
