Goan Rice and some fresh coconut, and you can rest assured that a Goan will put a full meal before you! This Goan flat bread used to be made and fried upon a Banana leaf. A light sweetness from the coconut and sugar make it just perfect with tea for a simple and satisfying breakfast :)
Enjoy this hot and crisp with your choice of jams or a generous helping of butter, or even plain. But don't forget love. Don't forget to experience the joy in the little things. Remember to laugh and to let peaceful satisfaction flood your moments, in the everyday mundane activities. Mog Asum❤️
Ingredients:
1 Cup Parboiled Rice (Ukde Tandool), washed and then soaked overnight or for 8 hours.
1 Cup fresh, grated Coconut
1/2 teaspoon Salt
4 teaspoons Sugar
Approx. 1/3 Cup Water (you may need more or less)
Some Ghee for frying

I make it on a banana leaf . I keep the batter in between the banana leaf which gives a good aroma. Learnt from my grandmother. She used manual grinding stone . I love this bakri and till date I make it and dip it in black tea and eat.

Maybe you are my grandmother in her rebirth. I'm impressed with your recipes. I remember my grandma making the same for me as a child. So many of your recipes have brought back memories of my Grandma's cooking.

Hello Duo, All about Goan recipes, From the diary of Florency, Another easy one on homemade Bhakri. I imagined the bread as it dips into a gravy, The texture said it all, delicious and yummy!

I remember my grandmother used to make on the tava on a banana leaf tastes so good but I can't make thick batter here my mixer doesn't take too dry so it's hard for me to make can you give me any idea how to grind this thick batter.thank you Florence for one of my favorite bakri.

You can spread it on banana leaf, cover with another leaf and roast it on the pan alongwith the leaf. Tastes yummy. Once cooked, remove the leaf

Please add "Gluten free" too in the title, when there's no gluten used in the recipe. It's helpful for people with gluten allergies. Regards.
