When you watch a boxer don't look at their hands watch their feet because that's everything You can learn basic combinations you can train yourself to throw hundreds of punches but most people from my experience don't understand footwork your feet control when you can be hit or if you're safe they also take you to the opponent to attack foot movement is everything

The reflexes like defense, footwork and head movement will take about another few weeks to a month. To actually do it automatically and efficiently takes months and years, of practice and real life experience(sparring). Yes i agree the dropping hands and untucked chin is something that has to be experienced before someone gets it (like being hit) before they can take those kinds of lessons serious.
