I am Hispanic and ever since I started my period at 13 my mom would tell me not drink milk, cheese, avocado for pain , no lemon it cuts your blood and no spicy food for smell. She said a few days before the period and my entire period to stay away. I never believed . Wise information passed down from generations. Ever since I moved out I stop that diet and it true! 2 weeks before menstruation, I used to have insomnia and migraines, cramps and feelings of deep sadness, my PCP wanted to prescribe me an antidepressant and I strongly refused, plus hormones... I walked away from his practice and started fasting for 48 hours and for the next few days I only had green smoothies, just kale and lemon, my migraines disappeared and I started sleeping sweetly and peacefully. I started a plant-based lifestyle and I have found healing and a better version of the woman I can be. My menstruation is pain free and I'm stronger than ever. My skin is healthier as well. 🌈☀️

I used to be very healthy and a non meat eater, but I lost a lot of weight and incorporated meat back in my diet as I was extremely under weight, and then boom. 3 years later my periods became unbeatable, I have been procrastinating but now I am going back to not eating animal products. Well he said fiber takes excess of estrogen out of the body, and that cheese and milk could add more estrogen than what your body is creating. But why is the body creating estrogen in an excess? That's what we need to focus on, and I think there's where sugar and insulin fit here.

So this was my first full month of not eating dairy to see how my cycle would react. And great news! I only fully bled 1.5 days when it would usually be 3, and my cramps/nausea was 75% less. Typically I would have to heavily medicate myself to sleep in order to handle the pain and I would vomit at least 2x. I literally didn’t have to take meds and I didn’t vomit even though I was a little nauseous. Also I stopped using tampons a few years back and that has also made a world of difference. This month I will cut out all meat except seafood, and I will cut back on sugar, wheat products, and oils. This should be great! Thanks 🙏🏾

What the doctor is saying is so true. Since I became vegan a few years ago, my severe period pains are a thing of the past. I don't even feel anything different until it actually starts, absolutely no pain, no bloating, nothing. That was an unexpected bonus of the vegan diet. Like the lady he mentioned, O had such aweful pains during periods. I suffered from fibroids at one point, which is very close to endometriosis. The pain went completely away when I stopped eating animal products. Anytime I add more oily food to my diet (e.g. peanut butter), I have some pain during my period, but not as painful as it used to be before I went vegan.

Inverse bleeding is the cause of endometriosis, also. The blood contains stem cells meant to regenerate uterine lining and support vagina health. You shouldn't use tampons or cups, which stifle the release of blood. Use overnight pads, if necessary, but stay away from products that misdirect the flow. When the flow is blocked from it's natural route, it's like messing up the plumbing, it will spill into the wrong areas.

@@Honey-Bee-25 I am totally oil free unless I am at a restaurant for a special occasion (this is 2-3 times a year!). I also cut out nuts and even (gulp) avocados most of the time. I do not eat ANY packaged foods. I do not eat tofu (too fatty) although tempeh is ok every once in awhile. Having become an obsessive researcher about endometriosis to try to get my life back I came to really understand that fat is not the endo sufferers friend. I am also a nurse practitioner and have trained in functional medicine. Bladderwrack is a helpful supplement, BTW. But there is no treatment that has worked as well as WFPB SOS free living. @@z.j.maayan8458 so true, I have PCOS, had very bad cramps and extremely heavy/long periods. Went WFPB and cut out all overt fats except seeds, went gluten free and soy free, the cramps vanished and periods became lighter and shorter, now it's just 4 days, earlier it used to be 6-7 days. I went on the mini pill as advised by my GP, in order to stop my periods due to the pain I have because of endometriosis. I too was advised to have a hysterectomy, but I just couldn't do it, despite already having 4 children. I am constantly bleeding clots and the worse thing is that the pain has come back but even worse than before. As a SDA Christian, I'm already aware that the bible has given us the blueprint of what we should and shouldn't eat, but I really enjoy eating meat. Will have to make some changes concerning my diet, because the pains are too much! Thanks for this video, I know what I need to do.

So I’m going to try this after this period and check back in with the truth. Sad news for a choc-a-holic! But obviously I didn't understand the science of it all. When I tell people that I don’t have cramps, they tell me that I’m lucky and sometimes people don’t even believe me. I’m not vegan however there are times in my life when I haven’t gone vegan before. I see the benefits in a plant-based eating plan and I recommend that to everyone. I eat small amounts of animal product without much problem. I also see the value in limiting oil intake. Everyone was 90% plant-based or even 80% plant-based, it would be a game changer for many people. There’s too much reliance today I’m highly processed foods and factory farmed animal products that are made from animals that eat a highly inflammatory diet. This is just my opinion and I hope you all take care.

I definitely noticed the difference between the extreme and debilitating menstrual pain I had before going plant-based and how it lessened as I slowly stopped eating dairy and eggs. But I still had some pain that is fairly uncomfortable though it wasn’t nearly as severe as before. I still am taking Ibuprofen for my monthly cramps. Some months are better than others, but I’m thinking that might be because of the oil. So I really want to experiment with no added oils as much as possible.

Yes. I found that part awkward. A plate should consist of veggies anyways so the fibers are there from them, who cares if chicken doesn't have fibers. Are you eating enough legumes? Exactly what I heard many times caring for my sick mom when she was in the hospital. Honestly I am thankful we have a healthcare system but at the same time I lost my hope in it as well. They dont treat the causes anymore, only fixing temporarly whats broken with things that makes your body many times sicker at the end. Giving you painkillers for everything instead of asking for physical and mental health and life style of the patient.

Dr Asiakale you are indeed God sent, I usually have a very painful flow ever since I was 17years old, I have tried using different drugs but the pains doesn't stop nor go, I have been living with it and managing with the pain each time my monthly circle comes but ever since last year December when I started using your herb the pains has been subsided and I feel better and comfortable each time my flows comes now. Thank you, am grateful and may God continue to bless and increase you. Amen!!!

This is helpful to women who have no digestive problems and an unrestricted diet, but what if you have IBS??? I can't eat most of the things you mention (see below), so what is suggested for people like me? Foods I have to avoid: *High-fiber products, found in cereals, grains, pastas *Gas-producing foods, like beans, lentils, and cruciferous vegetables such as cauliflower. *Gluten- protein found in wheat, barley, rye What can I eat?

This actually works!!!! I used to have pains.....but when I changed my milk to plant based and started to drink more herbs like seams and hibiscus as well as fruit...I noticed the difference!!! It goes very lightly instead of having pains. I don’t feel them anymore...

I think this is true. I went on the AIP diet, which restricts dairy and certain oils and encourages fruits and vegetables. My first period on the diet, my cramps were almost non-existent. I couldn't believe it.

Tears came to my eyes. I promise this same thing happened to me at 27. I am astonished 😧. I was not a vegan then I had stopped dairy. I mean same story. I asked the OBGYN to take my uterus I was tired of the pain. Mine was God. I had fasted weeks before the surgery. I still have bad pain, so I am seeking other treatments also. Thanks for sharing this.

I became vegan for 2 years and I did not have any menstrual cycle pain. Unfortunately I developed vitamin b 12 deficiency while on supplements and Also anemic. I returned to eating meats and my energy levels improved but the Menstrual cycle pain returned with a vengeance even though I eat lots of vegetables and fruits. I have discovered that eating a high omega 3 diet while eating meats but especially wild caught fish also helps the pain go away plus chia seeds and walnuts.

B12 injections or sublingual supplements may have been a better option, especially if you're gut wasn't in the best place to absorb the B12. Careful with eating too much fish because of how polluted they are now.

This is exactly what I have been looking for my entire life. I have had painful periods my entire life since a teenager. Right now I am using two Livia products to reduce my pains. I also had problems with drinking regular milk. So I stopped with most lactose products and started using lactose free ones instead. I also got rashes on my upper arms, a sign for gluten. So I have also stopped eating gluten products and more gluten free products. I'm guessing this means that I should stay away from eating chicken. But what about lactose free cheese? eggs then? I'm guessing this means no oil products. Less fried food? Can anyone inform me more on this. Anyone that actually is more into this? because all of the cutting out on certain foods is still very new to me.

Reading some of these comments as I’m laying in bed feeling this… I realize as a preteen 11-13 I was in the embarrassed stage of womanhood and even though I was in pain I would do my best to hide it from my dad because I didn’t want to talk about it, and many times I had to come out of school or stay in bed because I wasn’t feeling well. Or just made me realize how girls can be so hard on themselves and insecure, poor me. My heart goes out to all the girls that feel like that. Ask for help! ❤

I have been watching this and taking notes. I have a big test with my specialist today and am so excited to tell him what you told us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am so looking forward to being pain free. I am in my 50's and have had painful periods, heavy periods since I was 12. I had 2 hysteroscopys also. Now I get a lot of pain and UTI's along with yeast infections. Appreciate all the useful information.
