Ford Sync no usb detected

Common problem for me, no USB connected. You would think something as simple as this would work in a ~$50k vehicle. The sad thing is all the cheap rentals that they put me in while this was in the shop worked with no problems.

Whoever programmed sync, I question their ability and I am an idiot. The worst programming period.

I've had the same problems...sometimes going into the fuse box and unplugging the SYNC fuse works. One time it didn't, I've been told to unhook the negative side of the battery and that helps with the SYNC. I haven't done that yet though. I've had way too many issues with the Ford SYNC, thier software is far from good.

I have a 2010 Ford F150. Mine was working fine with my ScanDisk sport; but, I made the mistake of updating my Sync Software. Since I updated the software it is not working. Same thing you are getting. No USB found. Mine always says charging.

When I stream music using Bluetooth suddenly the media starts saying Please Insert USB device

Try unplugging the fuse and plugging it back in on the sink it works for me.

I have a 2013 Ford Edge. My USB stopped working. I did a Master Reset through the System Settings. I've read you need to wait five minutes or 30 minutes. I didn't try it again that soon after the Master Reset, but it did work again when I started the car the following morning. I also removed SYNC from my phone's Bluetooth Connections.

same problem i was having with my mustang took it to the Ford dealer it was there a day and a half,when i called to see about my car the service person told me the mechanic tried the usb and was charging his phone,i asked if it was completely working because it wasn't reading my ipod device,he tells me my ipod might be the problem i knew it wasn't because i play my ipod on any dock and it worked,i tried different devices,cables still kept saying line in,went on a few forums this morning sunday a dude says disconnect neg battery cable for like five minutes and lo and behold the thing works again,save me time and money from another trip to the dealership,sometimes devices and electronics do freeze,like computers and phones i guess Ford sync is no different.

Didnt work . Ford Kuga USB stick flashes red light on USB stick. Using an adapter for cigarette lighter the same issue. BUT using a charging lead to a phone WILL charge the phone. Car doesn't seem to light USB sticks

I've basically given up on using voice commands in my car. It doesn't work worth a shit. Neither does the USB connection other than charging my devices. Bluetooth can stream music though thank god
