I'd be going back to Ford and asking for a refund on everything they have done AND telling them to watch this video !! Great job Jimmy.

Another parts cannon fired at it instead of proper diagnosing. Well done Jimmy, it’s depressing to see dealers not being able to sort this

The thing with dealers is it's (normally) a "chargeable" job . They have zero problem having the apprentice throw parts in the general direction of the fault, then if that doesn't work, getting the second grade tech to clear stuff. . Since you're paying for parts and labour, it's making the business money. . Things would be very different if you had a fixed cost menu for a fault, or a pre paid parts included plan. . Also, 95% of customers don't ask "what was the (precise) fault? Why did you change this? And this? And this? Because they don't match the problem" (because obviously the customer generally has no clue how it works or any desire to find out) As long as they get 80%(?) out the door for long enough to deny it's the same problem, that's fine. . The next 15% get more parts and the third tier technician on the return visit (the customer still won't query the parts or labour bill) . The last 5% get either the in-house expert, or the local Jimmy, but the dealer STILL breaks even. . That's why even a basic OBD2 reader is worth buying. Walk in and say "Code xxxx, might be the yyyy" (having googled it) . Immediate attitude change. . You can add "phone before fitting any parts".

I wish every stealership HAS to look at your channel, before working on diesel vehicles. Your knowledge is indispensable and worth its weight in gold. Thanks for sharing it to the world. 🙏🙏👍🏼👍🏼

Hill start assist message is related to the ABS error. It uses the ABS module to hold the van on hill starts without you having to hold the brake pedal.

I'm a Copier tech (the "4th call, not fixed" level) Like you, I see 3 kinds of "colleagues". . 1) The Part chuckers. "If I fit enough bits, something will fix it..." (Rarely does) . 2) The "Same fault somewhere else last week, but the part hasn't fixed this machine" (Wasn't the same fault then, was it?) . 3) The "How does a copier work?" technicians. IF they have a problem, when they call you, they have the manuals open on the laptop, a full diagnostic to hand, plus a detailed explanation of what they did and why. When you say "dud you check xxxxx?" Its normally "Yes, here's the reading" Or "Facepalm.... Hold on! ... Thats ok, but ... This reading is off, thanks for the help" (They are a pleasure work with...... They're also the ones I call if *I* have an issue) . Seems like a universal grading?

i assume hill assist fault is due to wheel sensor issue. ecu does not know wheel speed so cannot operate hill assist.

It would be cheaper for the Ford dealer to just contract out the work to you Jimmy 😀

Having watched most of Jimmy’s videos now it seems to me that the whole Dealer/garage industry is operating on a no loss scenario which is bad news for the customers. Are these vans and cars really that difficult to fix?, I don’t believe so. I just think they have had things to much their own way for too long.

Good morning I am in France and I like your videos and your explanations. Can you tell me where my DPF pressure sensor is located on my 2011 INFINITI FX30D? I can't find it and need to send a DPF product. thank you for your reply

I have one of these vans it’s a 2018 with 50k on my concern is the timing belt it was the min thing I was concerned about when I bought it with 18k on at a year old but I was assured the belt was 10 years or 100k miles, I’ve heard people have had issues with them degrading and was considering getting mine changed. Soon I would be interested to know what your or any one else’s opinion/ experiences are on this? Also I change the oil at 5-10k intervals.. Great work as always Been told the cost to change the belt is about a £1000 as opposed to £6k if the belt goes..

The Ecoblue engine runs a wet belt system and they've been failing prematurely because of oil contamination, change every 5 years to be safe. Change the oil as often as you can.

My mates is manager at ford dealership he basically said it very rare they fail is usually because of a customer issue like not servicing on schedul or using an independent garage or thereselves not putting the correct oil in causing the belt to deteriorate.

Ford never admit liability, that's why there was a recall for a belt inspection and engines were replaced as a gesture of goodwill @HA05GER
