Why didn't these people come forth when he was being accused before??? Why wait 10 years after the man is dead and say all of this? They could have even said this right after his death, why now??? I'm not convinced! It doesn't make sense to me!

I think it’s sad how even you, Harriet, believed these men wanted fame and money. If it were a woman then you would say we need to believe her. If we replace the pronouns then it would sound different. Why would “she” talk about this horrible event just for money and fame. This is why rape victims aren’t believed. And so on. Interesting how this documentary has changed minds in so many ways.

I hate the excuse that “he just loved children.” I am a child therapist and I love children too, but that doesn’t mean I need to have 7 hour long phone conversations with children, have sleepovers with children, or be alone with children without their parents for massive amounts of time. If you really love children then you will display appropriate behavior with children and maintain firm boundaries.

Jackson never had a childhood, he was born into the music industry. He never had sleepovers, played catch, or spent time with friends. His brothers were all singers (Jackson 5). This documentary is extremely one sided, and the problem is that people are reacting to this emotionally rather than using facts. A crime like this is extremely horrifying, but If you're going to make extraordinary claims, you have to have extraordinary evidence, which the documentary fails to provide. The filmmaker didn't even interview the Jackson families during the production of the documentary, and I find the marketing extremely pathetic (since he died 10 years ago.) I also find it odd that both men defended Micheal Jackson during his trial, but now that he's dead and the MeToo movement started to rise, they can come out and say whatever they want.

D W Absolutely not. Inherently I find that wildly inappropriate no matter if there was a crime committed or not. My parents never even let me got to sleepovers at friends house because they worried something might happen to me. So no I don’t have children and I would never put a child in a situation like that where they are vulnerable or where their safety is in question. And I am not at all condoning anyone’s behavior with my previous comment either btw, I am just saying comparing a proven guilty individual to someone who was not found guilty/is only allegedly guilty is extremely strange to me. People really brush off the innocent until proven guilty aspect of law and that bothers me.

All I know is, as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, it is absolute hell when you grow up and start to heal from the trauma. Everyone thinks they "know" a person wouldn't do that, or they were such a "great person" when I knew them. I never understood this type of glorification of celebrities, it all seems a bit cultish. Like why make someone a saint just because they created great music? We really know nothing about them, accept for their public persona. It seems he had too much power over people, he could basically get away with anything. I mean, after being accused of child molestation he continued to walk around holding hands publicly with young boys. Like why? To prove that nothing touches him? That normal rules don't apply to him? Are you saying men cannot or should not hold children hands? only Women and it's ok. Michael Jackson treated these kids as if they was his very own flesh and blood period. He is being accused of Raping children, that's a vile, vicious animal that should burn in hell. But we do not believe Michael Jackson abused anybody, our research has shown us that people have tried hard to get their hands on his wealth. The case with the chandler kid - They were awarded 20 million dollars by the insurance company, they had 9 years to open a criminal case against Jackson and never did. 9 Years. They got what they wanted his money and ran with it. The bottom line is that nobody is thinking MJ is a Saint, we just do not believe this beautiful man is a sexual predator. Our research has given us enough information to know Wade and Safechuck are lying "Bas" who are trying there best to get there hands on "Hundreds of millions" of dollars from Jackson estate, they have already tried two times and it was thrown out of court twice and now they are trying a third time with this mockumentary in tow trying to persuade the verdict. MJ may be dead but his estate is Alive and worth millions.

Grace Land Ps the point is also that it is fully possible to be a "beautiful man" but at the same time be a predator... like most child molestors and rapists are people usually very loved by their community and friends... which sometimes make it difficut for us to see that they have commited any wrongdoings. Its not all black or white... sometimes reality is more nuanced than that. But.. again we cannot know 100%

@crazywoollady9325
@crazywoollady9325 4 жыл бұрын
@@JMW376 Lots of parents are in denial about their children's abuse. Especially sexual abuse and especially when that sexual abuse has male victims. It was even worse in the 80's and 90's than it is now. A lot of parents blame themselves and a lot of parents just can't handle the guilt so they use denial instead. A lot of parents also just don't believe their kids. Wade's mom specifically sounds like she's still really struggling with the situation. I don't know if she'll ever come to terms with it. I was molested as a child... in the 80's when it was common knowledge that Michael Jackson was an untouchable child molester. I remember how much of an impact that had on me and other abuse victims I knew when I was a kid. It was a big deal back then and I'm not sure I'll ever understand how the perception changed so drastically or why people are so willing to not believe abuse victims. There are SO many reasons for Wade's mom's behavior... and Wade's too for that matter. If you're actually interested in learning I can suggest some places to start. The damage done to abuse victims and the psychology behind all of it (the abuser, the victims, the family of victims, etc.) is deep and layered and not everyone responds in the same ways. Often people react in ways that seem counterintuitive. As an example though, my mom learned of my abuse fairly early on. I'm not sure I ever would have told her honestly, but my sister did (my sister was also a victim of the same abuser) and (luckily) my mom believed her right away. She removed us from the situation, got the authorities involved, and put us in therapy immediately. My mom went to her own therapist also. It's been over 30 years since then and I'm still processing a lot of it. My mom still blames herself. And that's with decades of therapy, immediate action once she knew what was happening, and no denial of the truth of the situation on her part. Any of those factors going differently can cause even more harm.

I suffered molestation for four years as a teenager by an adult man. These patterns of behavior aren't just consistent with MJ. It's consistent with most adults who take advantage of children in this way. I don't think I'm alone in my frustration that people are just now talking about these allegations after the documentary, because these patterns are apparent to people who have been in these situations as children. The real issue is the fact that we haven't been listening and genuinely LEARNING from victims, or we're only just starting to listen. Even then, these poor men are forced to recount every detail of every event just to be taken seriously. Also, I really appreciate you pointing out that 21 is very young. I was taken advantage of older men in my 20's quite a few times, mostly because I didn't have a good sense of self worth. As someone who has been sexually abused by someone, when it comes to abuse cases you need to remove how someone presents themselves and look at their actions solely. Both my abuser and Michael Jackson presented themselves as very childlike, but if you look at their actions on their own, their actions are fucking weird and suspicious or an actual "what the fuck" case.

As a longtime Michael Jackson fan and someone who grew up as a dancer and looked up to Michael for so long, watching this documentary was so very hard to do. It was hard to come to terms with the fact that the hurtful things that people were saying about him in the press had truth to them and it really shows that we need to believe people when they make serious allegations despite the person they're speaking out against being super famous and having a ton of influence and impact on the world. I've met Wade Robson in person. I've attended a couple dance conventions that he's taught at and before his classes, he would have a sit-down conversation with the attendees on why he left the entertainment industry and in those conversations, he would refer to Michael as "my idol" he wouldn't name drop but I had a feeling he was talking about him. When this documentary came out, my suspicions were confirmed. It's so sad to hear what happened to Wade and Jimmy in this documentary and I really hope that they have received some kind of therapy so they don't sustain any or too much psychological damage from this stuff happening to them at such a young age!

What opened my eyes was MJ's weird behavior in those videos, faxes and voice messages... It's clear as day that he was grooming these kids. It's clear as day that he was a very manipulative person. Like when Safechuck (a child then) asks him what his favorite thing of Hawaii was or something to that effect (while aboard the private plane after the trip) and he says "spending time with you" and other such statements, constantly repeating YOU... My husband and I looked at each other and we simply knew it. You talk like that to someone you're flirting with, to make someone feel special in a romantic way, not to a child. The same goes for that "happy birthday" video that he sends one of them (I can't recall whom) and the way he talks and looks at the camera... It's just not normal, people, it's frankly creepy. Those constant faxes saying "I miss you" and such. WTF... Who bombards a friend with hearts and emotionally-charged messages even as a teenager? Also, to the point that the fax machine leaves pages and pages on the floor for everyone to see? That might be boyfriend or girlfriend behavior, but that's not a friend. Now, a man to a boy??? PEDO ALERT!!

OK, but shouldn't it bother you that in the entire documentary we only saw letters, faxes and phone calls from ONLY MJ to the boys but not even 1 single one from these people TO MJ? For someone that they claim was in their life for decades and that the openly stated they reached out to and benefited from, won't there be some mutual communication to paint a better picture of what the relationship was? That's a red flag! A documentary should be partial, both sides should be presented especially if you're making such a huge claim. Also, that birthday video wasn't exclusive to Wade, Michael sent similar ones to his other friends on their birthdays including Elizabeth Taylor. It's all online and on KZbin. What is also overwhelmingly available is the fact he ended almost all his interviews, speeches, concerts, meetings and notes with the words, 'I love you', so much so that when fans replied the same to him, he would go 'I love you more'. He said this to strangers and friends alike. That the documentary turned this obvious MJ fact/gesture into something disgusting is quite troubling to me. And I haven't even started poking holes into the discrepancies in their stories. I too was swayed to believing what I watched but some of the counter evidence says otherwise. We as a society need to look objectively at what we are being told to believe, otherwise, we lose our entire sense of morality. There's always two sides to a story but if your emotions only allow you believe one side, who's to say what we won't be manipulated into believing?

Back in 1993 and again in 2003-2005 when MJ was accused and brought to court I felt like he was guilty. I felt he was able to get out of it because of payoffs and good lawyers. The reason I felt he was guilty is because why the hell would a grown man keep having little boys sleepover? And he was always seen with a little boy holding his hand, a little boy sitting on his lap, going on tour with him etc. After the 1993 allegations where the kid and his family settled for over 20 million, he was advised by his legal team to stop hanging out with these kids etc. but he didin't listen to that advice and got accused again in 2003. That tells me he had a problem and could not control it What sane person would keep hanging out with kids after almost going to jail and having your life ruined? I truly think he had a huge problem and was a very sick man and could not control this sickness and thats why he kept getting accused. This HBO doc did not convince me, I knew before I saw the doc. Back in 2005 when MJ went to *trial* for these allegations he never tried to silence ANYONE who accused him of these crimes and only challenged them in court because he knew he did nothing wrong and all he had to show was his clear innocence. Facing trial never scared MJ, and for good reason because the trial of 2005 was a fucking mess filled with a bunch of liars trying to get money just like this time around. Most people placed their bets on MJ's guilt and the criminal investigation against MJ was *5 million dollars* with an unknown to MJ 10 year FBI surveillance on his back, it was no joke and nothing was left unturned-- but they still found nothing to find him guilty of being a pedophile or committing the crimes they said he did (unlike R Kelly and co who have all skated by free because of ACTUAL complacency, predation, and power). The political landscape we are in is what is making this get the attention that it doesn't deserve because everyone is still caught up in the MeToo movement without realizing how easily it can be hijacked by terrible people. But go off and pretend like the criminalization of black men in the media hasn't been a selling point in western culture throughout history. Keep missing those patterns and keep your head in the sand instead of doing your own research.

In that documentary, the family discusses how the predator who went after their daughter did a lot to ingratiate himself with the entire family. It’s possible that this is a common thing child predators do so they can go after their victims without drawing too much attention to themselves. I could be wrong, though.

I was reminded of that documentary, too! The grooming and manipulation was similar. If you watched Oprah’s interview with the two men, I think that she explained really well that childhood sexual abuse doesn’t always equal physical pain and violence etc. and that children often don’t understand that they are getting abused. This is not the way these topics are typically discussed in mainstream media, but it’s probably the most common way this actually happens to people in real life. Once the child feels complicit in their own abuse, it’s hard to speak out against the abuser.

Grooming. That is really all we need to dig into people.... the art of grooming in all it's preverse detail and how we can recognize it for children AND for yourself. If you are in a child's life in ANY capacity and an abuser wants access to that child recognize how you, that child and others are being groomed to see this person as "harmless". Make a general rule if need be, mine: NO adult takes that much of an invested interest in a child that isn't theirs. Like mentioned, a 15 minute conversation on the phone with a child is usually the most an adult can handle. Invites for alone time is NOT ok. If that boundary is place and the adult is trying to be persuasive or manipulate the child to persuade their parent(s) HUGE red flags!🚩🚩🚩 We had a situation with a friend of my husband whom went and laid on the floor of my son's room when I mentioned I was going to get him ready for bed 🚩🚩BOOM: if it feels wrong trust that regardless how that person takes it. If they are offended then it probably had inappropriate intent. I told the adult man to please leave my son's room and tried to convince me to let him stay during the routine 🚩🚩 my husband overheard, intervened and told the friend to leave our home. He left in a huff, frustrated and feeling attacked. This was over 20 years ago. We have not spoken to him since. Be alert. Look at what is atypical involvement in a child's life by an unfamiliar or new ADULT relationship. An adult can support a child and express care without going beyond those boundaries. My youngest son was struggling in school and his teacher at the time, male was eager to work with him to build his confidence. He supported his passions by helping him build on them in school (safe environment) inviting other children to participate and came to one of his football games again, in a safe atmosphere showing his care and support. It meant a lot to my son whom struggled because he felt someone other than family cared. Now, if this teacher gave my son special gifts, invited him alone on outings.... ect THAT would be crossing a boundary. Some might think, "Wow, he is shows he REALLY cares". If those extra mile gestures occurred however the risk is not worth the potential MOST adults would know this. They are in the position of power and authority. A position that should be taken very seriously. Pedophiles/Child abusers use and abuse that power that is why we know it is NOT about sex and pleasure for these people. Be aware. Don't worry about offending an adult when protecting a child.

Say it straight, you've brought all the points out I've felt for years even before the doc. All the behavior is huge red flags. No healthy grown man wants to have sleepovers with children. You will never convince me that was a safe situation. Red flags all over the place, I felt it then and feel it now. Only now as a society we are in an era where we are actually starting to believe the victims and celebrity can't just cleanse you of guilt.

There weren't any real points brought forward that haven't already been debunked as lies, the fact is he said himself he never asked any of the children to come into his room or his bed they all WANTED and asked him to be in his room which is on tape, they had their own rooms beautiful suits but still wanted HIS room, and the parents allowed their children to make these unreasonable requests of someone's private space, he Let them sleep over, if they didn't want too, they could of said no thanks we going home, simple. He never had a childhood and wanted to experience that , he offered this opportunity to other kids as well, coz making other people Happy brought him joy, not that most people could ever understand that, and forgetting the fact that there were 100s of staff and the kids parents , the problem was that he was too kind too nice to these children and families,by letting them in his private bedroom, he should of said no, you got your room, f*** off that's too much. Or in fact never allowed anyone into his private home, just visit and get out, the sleepovers we're people being greedy not wanting to go the hell home, think about it, if none of the parents stayed the night with their kids, or ALLOWED their kids to stay we wouldn't be here today.they all took advantage of his good nature, because "no one does something good unless they get something out of it" right, it's beyond us to think this man cared for ordinary people and kids and was generous. The fact is there isn't ANY proof he didn't anything wrong, period.

I think it's interesting you believe Macaulay Culkin when he says he wasn't abused. I think him defending Michael parallels James and Wade so much because they both described loving him, wanting to protect him, and even enjoying the attention they were receiving from him again before the trial. Also, if you look at Macaulay's issues with substance abuse, I think it mirrors James's experience and how he was responding to the trauma. Cory Feldman interests me because he's talked about the pedophilia ring in Hollywood on multiple occasions, and he's said things eluding to the fact that he could never name names because of how powerful they are. Cory has had his issues with substance abuse as well, which I think just adds to the pattern. It's obviously none of my business, and if they just don't want to come forward, that's their right, but I just think the signs are there.

I don’t want argue with you because I don’t think this productive, but for you to call them liars for testifying on Michael’s behalf does not make sense. If their testimony was a lie then wouldn’t that make the story true? Also, suing his estate isn’t about money, it’s about legal culpability. Michael is dead so he’ll never be held personally accountable for his crimes, suing for money is a way to find him culpable and acknowledge that it happened with some sort of recourse for his actions. I’m not going to pretend to know he’s guilty or innocence, but I will say just because someone is found not guilty, it doesn’t mean they’re innocent it just means there wasn’t enough evidence to convict. And yes Michael did a lot to ensure that not many testified against him. And what do they have to gain by coming forward now? Closure. They very well could be liars but you know what people try to poke holes in their stories but every example of a hole is actually very consistent with someone who’s suffered abuse. Michael is loved by millions and so to pretend it’s easy coming forward against someone rich, powerful, famous, iconic, etc is a little glib. We have a society that is so quick to assume any victim of sexual assault is a liar, but maybe the conversation should be a little more nuanced. I’m done here, have a great day.

Well if they only sued for some moral compensation as you said, that was a stupid thing to do, Robson ows the Jackson family over 100 thousand dollars.. It's all about the money. Abztraktt The judge that threw out Safechuck and Robson’s case, told them that no jury would find them credible with how many times they had changed their stories. And Safechuck couldn’t get his timelines right at all so his didn’t even make it as far into consideration as Robson. It was pretty much immediately tossed out as frivolous. They both owe the MJ estate hundreds of thousands of dollars in attorneys fees. People go after Wade Robson because his career was thanks to MJ. He was the star witness in Michael’s 2005 trial and testified as an adult, confidently and adamantly that Michael never touched him. He said for over 20 years what an incredible man Michael was. He also did several tributes when Michael died including asking Janet to be a part of her tribute to her brother. He then reached out to the estate for the director’s position of the MJ TRIBUTE show Cirque du Solei ONE. When he was turned down for that he sold his BAD gloves and fedora to Julian’s Auctions (didn’t burn them like he claimed) and sued the estate for 1.2 billion dollars at which point James Safechuck joined with the same attorney. Do the math.

I couldn’t agree more! I’m 48..... a lot of you younger folk were not here....like my generation .... for you all to truly know just how HUGE Michael Jackson was. I can’t put it into words. I mean he was HUGE! Bigger than any star of today. Bigger than Elvis Presley even...I stood in line for TWO days in front of tower records to buy tickets to see him.... 2 days people.... at age 15! We took turns sleeping in my moms car and trading places in line...By the time I got to the front of the line.... they were sold out. I was sad for days! I’ve been a fan since I was a tiny kid.... age 5... (when he was in the Jackson 5) after he went solo.....he was my first crush in 1982, in the 6th grade... my first poster I ever bought and the very first album, thriller.... I ever bought on cassette. I still know every word to every song on that album and when I listen to it.... it takes me back to the 6th grade....He had GOD like status... and for the last 35 years.... I have defended him. Not just because I was a fan.... but because I REALLY thought he was innocent.... I REALLY thought.... ya... he’s weird... but his childhood can explain all that... right??!!! People just wanted his money, right?? After watching all 3 parts of the documentary (I’m including Oprah into that)...... I cried and cried and cried. Because I couldn’t defend him any more. ..... before you think me an idiot.....you have to realize for young girls like me (when I was a young kid/teen) what a HUGE part of growing up he was for us....Now.... I’m left sitting on my couch saying “omg.... Michael Jackson WAS a Pedophile”...... “he really was a pedophile”...... Something about how he held those rings.... the “wedding” rings that Michael gave him.... the way his hands shook... and the look on his face..... he just didn’t look healthy.... he physically looked ill.... I just knew he was telling the truth... broke my heart...for him and for Michael... the whole thing is just a tragedy.... Btw..... even Corey Feldman.... one of his main supporters for 30 plus years was like.... “ya.... I can’t defend him any more, not after watching that”.....(he publicly said this a few days ago) Awesome video! New subscriber here 💕❤️🙏

I’m not saying it’s not true, we just don’t know. Innocent until proven otherwise. It still hasn’t been proven otherwise, therefore it’s up to each one whether to believe it or not. I know the worst thing that can happen to a sexual abuse survivor is to not be believed, but a person should never be condemned if there not enough proof. You can say oh it totally looks like they’re telling the truth, but they could be faking it, who knows. Without evidence, that might be the case. Don’t believe everything you hear. One thing I liked about this documentary is that it showcases the awe of celebrity we have. It's the topic of the documentary but I couldn't help but think when I listened to the boys and the parents, they looked at Michael like Jesus or something. These parents had this unrealistic trust of Michael, they let their kids play with him all day while they chilled in the paid-for hotel room. The boys looked at him like this mythical divine figure, they wanted to be apart of him so badly. I see this same pattern in the R Kelly, James Toback, and other celebrities allegations. I'm not saying Michael is guilty or not but I see this over and over again in these allegations where these men seduce with the promise of money or fame to these accusers and use their fame and money as tools of seduction. These people have titles to their names Hollywood executive producers, King of R&B, top Hollywood actor. It shows a problem in our society, in my opinion. Like sis, I don't care if it Michael Jackson the King of Pop or Michael Jackson the cashier at Walmart, I ain't leaving nobody alone with my non-existent kids.

If people can watch a 4 hr, one sided documentary, they can spend at least half that time researching facts that show that their stories have switched up multiple times, including why they lied. Wade only comes out with stuff about Michael when his career isn’t going or when he’s having troubles financially. I understand that victims do have a hard time coming out even years after the abuse, but Wade tried to be the head choreographer at Michael’s Cirque show, begging the family to go to his funeral, etc. Correct me if I’m wrong, but why would you go to such lengths to be apart of anything your abuser has to do with? He’s made so much clout from Michael and as soon as his career is falling off and all his business ventures aren’t working out (especially being rejected by the estate to work to do the show ( and he had been bragging that he got the gig even tho that wasn’t the case), all of a sudden Michael abused him. It’s suspect. And it’s not even a quarter of the why this whole thing is off.

I am not saying these two men aren't telling the truth. What I am saying is that any objective person will agree that there are major red flags with this entire situation. Fortunately for the two accusers they are trying the case in the court of public opinion so things like facts and credibility are not challenged they way they would be in a court of law. People need to realize that when someone makes an accusation it is not about what we should believe or not believe. It should be about conducting a thorough investigation to find the truth. Once we find the truth we need to punish any and ALL ABUSERS!!!!! That is how we protect ALL VICTIMS. The timing, the motivation, and the credibility of the two men just raises a lot of unanswered questions. Then we have Oprah.. I honestly question her motives because she has been pretty quiet through this climate of so many major figures in entertainment being accused of some sort of sexual abuse....But then she decides to spearhead a documentary and attack on Michael Jackson while backing two men who's credibility is shotty at best. We need to stop allowing the media and the entertainment industry to control us. We need to think for ourselves. That is all I am saying

All of them revealed their abuse. The close family freind perpetrator interacts with some family members that the survivor avoids. The financial support perpetrator still provides financial support. The step-parent perpetrator is still married to the survivors biological parent. It has been my experience that it is not uncommon for CSA survivors to interact as adults with their abusers. Since so many of you seem to be confused I’m posting this. It explains why Wades first lawsuit was dismissed and it wasn’t because the Judge thought he was lying 😒 Judge Beckloff has had to deny Wade Robson’s claim against the Estate (his Probate claim) because he couldn’t fit it into existing statute of limitations for the offenses Wade is claiming. One would assume that the same will happen to James Safechuck’s claim. Judge Beckloff said that although it’s quite reasonable to believe that Wade was brainwashed and threatened by Michael Jackson, that ceased when he died and Wade took an unreasonable amount of time to file. Both Wade and James still have the civil case in play against Michael Jackson’s companies. The next hearing for that case is 30th June 2015. It should be noted that the case was not dismissed because it was based on lies or that the case didn’t have any merit. The following sentence at the top of this post still applies.

Most sexual abuse cases do not have any physical evidence and people are justifying this because he was who he was and he was found not guilty. Prior to Wade and James making these accusations there were two other boys that were the ones that pressed charges all of them years ago. 4 people that were close to MJ have now spoke out in total. No smoke without fire and MJ admitted in an interview that he had sleepovers with little boys - which is strange for children to be doing with strangers even if the stranger was Michael Jackson. He claims it started when his family left him alone the following week. 3rd version: in Wade's 2016 deposition he was asked of his account of the first two nights at Neverland as per his book draft was consistent of his memory now. Wade replied , "Yeah . I don't really remember." 4th version: on may 26 2018 after his civil claim and civil lawsuit was firmly thrown out of court Wade gives an interview with inside edition to discuss his allegations he says: " Everytime we were together it happened. There was no night that went by that I was with him that he didn't sexually abuse me". Wade's sister's version: in the 2005 trial, Chantel claims that on the first night she stayed in the upper level of Jackson's bedroom. However, she became much more comfortable by the second night and made the decision to sleep in the bed with Michael and Wade. If this is accurate, then this would be the same night that Wade claims the molestation started when he first made his claim for financial compensation.

I recognize that things were always a little hazy in regards to the 1993 case, but I was convinced by the father's presentation of himself (saying on audio that he only cared about getting everything he wanted) and the catastrophe that was the 2005 court case that Michael Jackson was just a victim of greed and extortion. While I haven't watched the Leaving Neverland documentary, I have done everything but from watching the interviews with Wade and James and the news coverage last year to researching the profile and patterns of behavior of child sexual predators and how people, especially, men deal with this trauma. It all fits the character Michael Jackson presented to us all and the actions of both Wade and James. Also, being older I'm able to put things into perspective more. 15 year old me felt that an adult being friends with kids was fine and, being friends, sure sleepovers happen. 25 year old me sees how inappropriate that type of situation is, regardless of the adult's intentions. We as a (global as well as American) society need to be having more conversations around child sexual abuse. The fact that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 5 boys experience sexual abuse is MINDBLOWING. It is so pervasive, yet, we DO NOT TALK ABOUT IT. And for a myriad of complicated reasons that many of us do not have the willingness to even begin to understand, which is why we see the backlash that we do. I believe Wade when he says that not only did Michael Jackson groom him and his family but the whole world because he STILL got the wool pulled over our eyes. We need to wake up, pay attention and listen. Prayers to the Robsons, Safechucks and all the other families that have been (un)wittingly torn apart by sexual trauma. I really hope that we can make more room for their voices to be heard so that they can heal and we can be better equipped to address this tremendous issue.

I’m surprised that you switched sides? Have you seen Square One and Chase the Truth? Also, don’t you think it’s weird that Wade’s mother was caught liking pro-MJ posts on Facebook two years after she helped Wade file the abuse lawsuit? What mother would do that, if her child has indeed been abused? It doesn’t add up! Also, Jordan Chandler had the chance to pursue a criminal trial, but didn’t bother when he got money! And he wants nothing to do with Wade’s case! If he really was abused, don’t you think he’d be helping Wade out?

I have a very sincere question...do you feel the same sympathy/empathy for the alleged victims of H Weinstein, R Simmons, R Kelly, B cosby or any other victims of this crime? I, as a survivor myself, continue to struggle with the selective outrage that many in this country have for certain victims over others...I still experience victim shaming on different level while others with different socioeconomic backgrounds seem to have more a platform where others are more likely to believe their experiences.

I know that the parents were very negligent, but we are judging them with the knowledge we have now. It has been a long road of people talking to get here from young sportsmen and musicians from religious communities. We know what these patterns of rapists and pedophiles are like. The parents of those children did not have that information, they did not know how to see the signs, they had wrong ideas about what a rapist looks like or what happens. I understand their guilt and I understand that they are paying it, and I really felt so sorry for them.

(2 of 2) Believe it or not, some people are in fact GOOD People, only those who aren't so nice, find it inconceivable to believe MJ was just a very innocent caring human being, that far too many took advantage of. ... there are far too much evidence out there proving these men are documented liars, including having their cases thrown out of court for lying that was just recently.. And they are lying in this documentary as well. Please try to understand and recognize propaganda, before its too late. Until then, please, stay away from participating in jury duty. be well.

I respect your opinion (and am not saying that flippantly). I have no opinion on whether the allegations are true or not. The only people who know the truth are the men and MJ. My only potential issue with the documentary is that the narrative sounds very one sided. It would be more credible if they were presenting both sides of the story. What was the evidence presented on the other side? I’m not saying the creator needed to provide him with an excuse, just present both sides. Also, you have to add alleged to all accusations because not only was nothing proven, he was acquitted. This does not mean he did not do it, but it has not been proven.

Everyone defends MJ I feel like because of his music of course but also because "he was so childlike" and because of the difficult childhood he had himself. And yeah he kind of was, if you watch old interviews of him he always was soft-spoken and really weirdly "innocent" and it's easy to feel for him becoming a star as a child and never having a real childhood. And all of that is true and heartbreaking but the fact is there is still such overwhelming evidence that he was an abuser. He was an addict, he was extremely narcissistic and my feeling is that once he understood he was a superstar, he did whatever he wanted. And the signs of abuse are so obvious it's fucking creepy that a grown man named his house "Neverland" and owned a chimp and always had little boys tagging along in his music videos. Some people don't grow up from their trauma and I believe he never did, I believe he allowed it to rot his heart and become a pedophile because who was going to stop him? The world was obsessed with MJ and he bought the lie that he was above us because of it. And he allowed himself to become an abuser because he really believed he could do no wrong,I guess. It's possible to acknowledge the humanity of Jackson, and that he had his own shitty childhood, and his own personality, while also recognizing that he was a pedophile. I don't even know I'm talking out of my ass but it's so frustrating. Such a creepy guy and so sad that we all allowed this to happen, looking the other way when there were so many red flags about his relationships with children.
