Formula 1 - All Time Constructors Podiums - 1950 to Today

We are the Data Dudes. 2 data enthusiasts who make timeline and time-series videos.
In this video we have made a time-lapse review of every single Formula 1 podium won by the constructors from GP 1 - BRITAIN 1950 until GP 1079 - ABU DHABI 2022 (the most recent GP at the time of creation).
You can see a breakdown of 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Ties in total podiums are settled by most firsts, then most seconds and so on.

In F1, there has been Finnish drivers racing for 42 years. During that 42 years, there has been around 800 races. Finnish drivers has had 237 podium places. That means around 1 podium place in every 3 races. Now, what makes it more amazing, is that Finland has population of around 5 million, which is around 0,07 procent of world population. So, on average Finnish drivers should have less than 1 podium places, not 237 - which is around 30000% more, than drivers of any country should have on average per capita.

Now you need to divide the scores by the number of races each constructor actually contested to get the true figures.

Normalizing the data on a per race basis would give a good indication of the effectiveness of each constructor. However, the raw numbers show the historic impact of each team on the sport over the long term.

Merc would be top then, they have almost 300 podiums from 20 to 30 years

I don't see the reason for dividing by number of races per season. That would value some races higher than others. Just because some seasons had more races doesn't mean the drivers didn't work just as hard to earn those points.

I was a pleasently surprised Brabham were the third constructor to make it to 100 podiums, I was a Brabham fan when I first started watching F1 back in the early 80's. Would love to see them back in F1 one day.

BAR and Brawn GP is actually the same constructor, right?

Well, if you purely look at the predecessors, you are right. But when you look at it that way, the current Mercedes team is the same constructor as BAR and Brawn GP. And the founding father is Ken Tyrrell with his team. Officially, BAR and Brawn GP are different constructors. It's more in the name than in the ancestry.

Would it be too much effort to do a similar analysis based in the car/chassis designer. Or would Newey and Head just skip to the top and stay there?

There have been other successful designers in the past: Colin Chapman, John Barnard, Gordon Murray. It is difficult to know who has the most influence though: it could be several key members in a team but the boss takes all the credit for getting them together.

I'm afraid that's super not right. When a team gets bought you have two different teams that can be on the board. But with only changing team branding you have to include both as one. When ocon won in Hungary the Renault ticker did not go up. It should have as alpine is just the rebranding and not a buyout. You did get it correct when you separated Brawn and Mercedes. Because that's a buyout, And hey I didn't just make this up. You can check it on the website and you'll see I'm correct. Another thing you should do is list your resources

A number of teams that share lineage have been separated because they are technically different legal entities Otherwise BAR, Brawn GP and Mercedes would have to be folded together as would need to be done in other places

Are you guys ever going to do quality over quantity? Biggest bar at the top of the graph because of longevity is getting rather boring and that has been your whole schtick. There are those of us who want to see who actually is the best, not the most. Also, it allows you to recycle every video you have produced in new format, just a suggestion.
