Always enjoy hearing jams with you. The original version of this is a must! It is an eyelid peeling shred that you will love. Please, thank You

I wish I could see the footage from the cameras that were on Jimmy Walker and Kenny Rogers during this performance.

so funny. You can almost hear Frank telling the Mike Douglas TeeVee band "so it goes like this, OK? Just have fun with it. You'll probably never get another chance to really shine. And you there on the drums...."

This is my favorite version of Black Napkins. Frank casually walks onto the stage, plugs his guitar in, and gives a beautiful commanding performance. Great request and great reaction!

I don't see 70s fashion ever coming back... Mike Douglas was a local Philadelphia talk show and Frank came on a couple of days before he performed in Philly. When he played this song a few nights later it was almost a 2o minute jam session, which you can hear if you look up Black Napkins Philly 76....

I have tbe feeling that if Hendrix had lived through the 70s and 80s that he would have been paying attention to what Zappa was doing, i think tbey would have connected somehow. Jimi was , like Frank, a 'free musician'. They are those rare few that can just play and be so immersed in the moment, that genius just.....happens.

IDK. I got into the BNL because of their performance of ALCOHOL. Pretty sure it was on Conan. That's a mainstream show and a non-mainstream band.

This is the first version of Black Napkins you reacted to a long time ago. You didn't have the interview.. he was promoting his latest album, Zoot Allures, which had Black Napkins on it.
