this is not good for the baby's development of neck strength. the baby cannot even hold their neck up and this will cause damages in the future. PLEASE dont ever try to attempt doing this "cute" dance with a newborn, and if you do, ALWAYS support the neck of the baby.

Waited the whole video for INFJ and it was worth it. I work in early childhood education and one of the things I talk about with my therapist all the time is the fear that comes from knowing that the smallest thing, a single moment of carelessness, could impact and stay with them forever. I don't want to be the reason someone has to go to therapy!

I’m an INFP parent to two kids and damn, I feel so called out! You nailed it! 😂 Heads up, when they get older and parents do chore charts… yeah, that doesn’t work for INFP parents. I start them and it lasts for like one week and then it fizzles out! We just can’t handle schedules and routines! I feel so constrained by that stuff! 😂😂 On the bright side, my kids are doing extremely well and are happy, healthy and we have a wonderful relationship, even as they are now teenagers! So I guess it works out ok to give them tons of love, understanding, and compassion. Score one for gentle parenting! 👍😊

i've only ever worked in child care - from newborns to kindergarteners - so i know exactly how to handle them, hold them up correctly, feed them the correct way, etc. that said, i worry nonstop about having a kid of my own. the fear of them getting hurt, them _being_ hurt, hiding their pain... it doesn't matter that i would know what i was doing. i can barely take care of myself but i keep worrying about kids i see outside. the intrusive thoughts about the worst things that could happen to them turns me into a mess. then i just roll into my covers and pretend evil doesn't exist. i'm not an infj (am infp), but oh god is that anxiety _real._ i worry about everyone, but when it comes to small children i go from 100 to 1,000 in seconds.

Something adorable and unexpected that I realized about INTJs like myself is that for some reason babies and puppies/dogs love INTJs. Like you hand the baby to the INTJ and the baby just relaxes. They’ll even gravitate toward the INTJ in the room. It really melts my heart because they seem to realize something that even adults don’t always recognize about INTJs - as cold and stern as they can be, the good ones are really just protectors at heart (and we secretly love babies)

My dad is an INTJ, and this is exactly the kinda dad he’s always been. Put together, efficient, and cool-tempered. Loves kids (especially his own) with every fiber of his being. When I (INTJ) first became a parent, I read so many child development research books/articles. One said that REM cycle length was dependent on how much they had to process. I started reading different books to my son (INFJ) based on colors, wording, etc., and timing his REM cycles so I could catalog what he needed for optimal brain development. Edited to add your baby is adorable. I was thinking that way before you got to my type.

same here. I read all the typical baby books. At some point I decided that if I did everything to the letter as the books said, it would be 10 hrs/day just to get thru the standard tasks. So I put together a much more efficient schedule and then started reading actual psychology books on childhood development. Made all the difference

No matter what type, I like all the points you’re making . Like your first one ; I always wondered how they let parents go home with a baby without some aptitude test ! Newborns are so delicate. I’m INFP so I ask myself all these questions 😂

Our country doesn't take very good care of its mothers and their babies. Every mother should get a nurse to help them out at home during the first few months at least, especially the single mothers. Fathers who have become single due to the death of the mother should also be granted assistance. They're just as important. There should also be better monitoring/action systems put in place for prenatal and postnatal complications, such as bleeds, diabetes, and irregular blood-pressure. One too many mothers have died due to issues that could've been prevented, if not deterred upon discovery. But no, quantity over quality is all that matters, so things get ignored and overlooked. Postpartum Depression also needs to be taken a bit more seriously. Right now, it's not and now we have one too many mothers doing unthinkable things. Mental health in general needs to be taken a bit more seriously, but people aren't ready to have that conversation. Anyway, you get my point. Pardon my rant.
